32 The Power of the Nigh
Farsian was in his cabin sleeping. He had been sleeping for a long time, he almost forgot how long he had slept. But something happened while he was asleep, he could now barely make out an isle on the horizon. It would propably take them severall hours to get there but at least he could finally see the goal of their journey.
"Hey sleephead." A gentle voice sounded next to Farsians ear as he opened his eyes.
"What is it Joelle?" Farsian said as he remembered who the owner of the voice was.
"You have been out for a while how was it did you become stronger or smarter by sleeping all that time away?" Joelle asked almost annoyed that he had left her for a month. She had to talk to the other vampires in his stead as she felt that she should not sleep to skip the time but instead train her body to grow stronger.
"No I have not become smarter or stronger but I can feel that my blood is now more in rythm. It feels good, I almost feel at peace." Farsian was almost getting emotional as he remembered the fleeting feeling of being weightless and unconcious.
His sleep should not be compared to that of a normal human as he was sleeping for more than a month which would have killed all mortal beings long before they could have woken up.
"Is that true? Maybe you will have some magical benefits?" Joelle was now a little more interested in how it felt for him and what it did. They were both about the same age and had made similar decisions and experiences.
"Maybe I will, who knows? I haven't had any magical training in the past so we will see what happens when we reach the covenant." With that Farsian stood up and walked outside.
When he reached the deck he saw the messenger from the isle of mern stand tall and watch in the direction of the isle on the horizon.
"Holy Sh*t everybody on deck!" A scream echoed through the air.
One of the sailors was screaming his lungs out and all the other sailors stopped for a second to look in the distance. There in the distance there was a giant monster that was at least 3 times as big as the one before.
Farsian looked expectantly at the messenger but he soon realised that the other was preparing for a long distance teleportation instead of some attack or defence spell. A small portal started to form in front of the messenger as tiny beads of sweat started to appear on his face.
"All men on deck! Prepare the magic canons!" The captain of the ship screamed at the sailors.
"Rally up!"
"Monster Attack!!!"
"Arm yourselfes and set all sails!" Screams and orders mixed in the air as the ship seemed to become lively all of a sudden.
Offcourse all this commotion didn't go unnoticed by the other vampires on board. Soon the deck of the ship was littered with vampires that wanted to watch the show. But they soon realized that while the crew was giving it their all, the sails would not be enough to escape the beast and the cannons would not be enough to defeat it. When they looked towards the messenger they saw the portal that was slowly starting to glow into existence, soon it dawned on some of them, this would be a hellish last bit of the journey. As they realized that their only chance in this was making a hastened escape and didn't seem to bother saving them they started to mumble and Farsian could people hear about what they suspected would happen next.
"Farsian?" Joelle also realized that something was amiss in this situation.
"I think we are screwed... Are you able to swim?" Farsian was confident that he could grab a plank or some piece of wood and make it to the isle if worst came to worst but he still had to worry about Joelle.
"I don't think I can... I mean maybe I could when I was still human but I forgot when I became a vampire." One of the drawbacks of vampirification showed off, most people would forget their old selfes when they turned undead.
"Now that you speak of it..." Farsian realized that he also never learned how to swim since he became a vampire.
Farsian looked over his back and saw that the creature was fast approaching.
"Damn time is running out!" One of the sailors took the words out of Farsians mouth and spoke them out loud.
Many of the sailors were still running about on the deck, preparing for what was to come.
When the creature had crossed half the way and was now visible in all its glory, a darkness was spreading across the sky.
"What is this?!"
"The end of the world is near!"
"Why is it getting so dark now?!"
"What is happenig here?!" There were many confused sailors that were bewildered about the darkness but there were also some vampires that were confused.
A darkness was spreading across the sky, a darkness that was locking down on space itself. It was a spectacle that was to be watched.
The teleportation portal that was about to form suddenly shattered and the backlash hit the messenger to the ground. On the other side there was now a small black hole in the sky out of which a small figure comes. The figure looks towards the messenger and gives a small smile, it appears that the figure was amused by the thought of him running from such a lowly beast.
The creature that was previously coming closer suddenly halted to a stop as it watched the figure that was walking out of the sky.
"Your qarer ther qvampirer thatr qrulesr ther qisler." The creature tried to speak but it sounded weird and completly out of place.
The figure in the sky didn't even look at the monster and instead looked at the ship, waving its hand the ship suddenly vanishes and reapears near the isle.
On the Isle Farsian could see what appeared to be some sort of ceremony that seems to be in place to welcome new members of the covenant. Farsian as well as most other vampires had excellent eye sight and as such could allready make out most of the ceremony.
"Wha- How is she here?" Farsian heard Joelle mutter something as they watched at the ceremony.
When Farsian looked in the direction that Joelle was looking he couldn't believe his eyes either.
There on the beach he could clearly see an angelic appearance that was all to familiar to him.
"Angelica?" Farsian muttered almost absent mindedly. The monster in the backround as well as the figure that walked out of the sky all seemed to loose importance in comparison to this woman that was standing in a well decorated robe on the beach.
