25 Confrontation

But before Farsian could actually wake the two sisters up Helena was looking at him full of doubt. Even Farsian could tell what she was thinking. Why bring two bandit woman here? Even Farsian wasn't quite sure. It was just that he really liked the taste of their blood so he decided to keep them around. But before that he still needed to cast his ability on them or they would instantly try to kill him.

Farsian turned to look at Helena and was about to explain himself when one of his daggers was unsheated and a sweet voice rang next to his ear.

"Don't move or you die!" One of the sisters propably just woke up. She was propably still too weak or she would have killed Farsian allready. But with Mark, Helena and the maid it would become really troublesome if she acted rashly.

Farsian slowly turned around to face her and then his eyes started to glow in the collor of blood.

"Sleep." He said to her. After that short sentence the woman went limb and let go of the dagger. As would be expected she still wasn't fully recovered.

Farsian turned to Helena again and explained that he needed them to escape from this place and that she had to trust him if she wanted to flee. After that Helena was quet for a short moment before nodding to Farsian to indicate that she understood. Farsian then went back to brainwashing the two sisters.

When it was night again Farsian had succesfully created two new servants for himself. He would think of how to use them later, for now he had to consider how to get in touch with the higher ups of this band of rogues. He would kill their leader and install a puppet leader or he would make a puppet out of their current leader both options sounded very tempting. He would then have a small army at his comand that could accomplish various tasks for him. What he desired the most were hostages and other captives that he could then use as endless food suply. Preverably woman in their prime. He also wondered if he should try capturing a virgin to try if their blood would taste purer or not.

Farsian sneaked outside again when everyone was sleeping and followed the scent of alcohol. He soon arrived before a magnificient wooden palace. At least 3 times larger than the ordinary houses close by. From inside he could hear people celebrating something. This had to be the leaders house, no other house was this large. Farsian decided to sneak inside to look for an opportunity that he could use to create a puppet army.

There were two guards at the entrance one was lazyly leaning agains the wall while the other one was almost doozing off. They were not very attentive towards the shadow that creept closer along the wall. When one of them noticed something he tapped his comrade next to him and pointed at the shadow. Together the two guards moved towards that shadow on high alert.

"Meow!" A cat sprang from the shadow and into the torch light!

"Shit! It's just a cat, damn that thing gave me a scare!" One of the guards said as he looked at the fleeing cat.

The other guard was also very much the same, still on alert for possible changes in the environment.

But when the two guards turned around to resume their post they were greeted by a pair of red eyes that glowed in the darkness. After that they simply went limp and sleept on the floor next to the entrance. Nobody would suspect anything if they saw the guards sleeping. Most people would just think that the guards were being lazy again.

Farsian went inside after he took care of the guards using the cat to distract them. He was trying to kill less of his future army on his way to the big boss. He could soon hear loud laughter further down the hallway.

"Haha! Did you see the face of that merchant? He totally fell for it! Who would have a dragons egg out here?! What a fool!" Loud voices could be heard they were talking about some kind of egg that was apparently from a Cockatrice. If the merchant sold the egg to another person that person then would have a surprice if the egg hatched. You could charge a high price for a real dragon egg, especially if it was a more powerfull breed. Some dragons could manipulate the laws of the universe to some extent after aging for a thousand years. But some types of dragons were a lot weaker than others. Wyvern were a good excample. Even if they could breath flames and fly through the sky like a real dragon, their blood was very thin so they wouldn't develop majestic abilitys or powers over time.

Farsian didn't care about dragons and instead waited impatiently for them to adress someone as boss or to tell him where the boss would be. He kept himself in the shadows away from the light. His vision was also better than the average human in the dark. He could easely tell if someone was sneaking up on him in the darkness.

Farsian didn't have to wait long untill they started talking about their boss. First they talked about meaningless things like an alchemist that was apparently attracted by the wealth their boss showed off. They would all soon have their own health potion that could potentially save their live in a deadly situation. But what was a health potion compared with the immortality of a vampire? Farsian simply wasn't interested in any kind of alchemy potion. Even the ones that could extend ones live time were completly useless to him. He only wished for more power and right now the fastest way to power would be through a horde of bandits loyal to him only. What kind of opponent could oppose a small army?

Even if there was such an entity out there he could still use them to stall for time.

"What do you mean by the boss won't come today? Didn't he promise us to celebrate together with us?" One of the bandits finally said. But Farsian wasn't to happy about that either. He would rather have the boss appear now than to search for him later.

"The boss said that he still had some matters to attend to and couldn't come today. If you have something to say about that go to him yourself! He's at the usuall location." The other bandit said grumpily. He was just the messenger if they had something to argue about they should go to their boss and not blame him for it.

Farsian frowned. If he had known that it would go like this he might have taken the two sisters with him. They could at least distract the attention and ask around more secretly than him. If he were to go inside the room now and ask where that usuall location was he would be suspected. Not to mention that he didn't know if they were still searching for him or not.

Now he had to do it on his own. His daggers were slowly unsheated and he patiently waited for the messenger to leave the room and walk into the shadows.

After taking a bite from a big piece of flesh that was hanging on some thigh bone the messenger slowly made his way outside into the darkness of the night. Farsian was above the door frame with his Hands and feet stretched to hold him in place. When the messenger went past him he slowly crawled back down and stealthly followed behind the man.

After following the guy for a while Farsian arrived in front of an empty hall that looked like some kind of training ground.

"Have you delivered my message?" An old man said as he slowly got up from the ground and looked at the guy that came inside the training hall.

"Yes boss I have. They were all very much disapointed and I told them to talk to you if they had something to say." The man replied as he pounded his own chest full of vigor.

"That is good to hear, and who is that guy behind you that is so stealthly hiding in the shadows?" The boss said and pointed behind him.

"Wha-Who are you?" He said as he turned around and asked full of bewilderment. But soon something dawned on him and he turned around to his boss and swore that he didn't have anything to do with that guy.

Farsian saw that his presence had been exposed so he walked into the torchlight and made a slight bow befitting of a noble of the night.

"I am Farsian son of Angelica and I will be your end! Bow before me and swear allegiance and I might just spare you tonight!" Farsian said full of pride. He looked at the other party and waited for a response.

"What are you some kind of noble?" The man said with a frown.

"No that can not be. A noble doesn't sneak around in the shadows like that." After that he eyed Farsian a bit more carefully.

"Wait can it be? No that is impossible you are way to weak to be one of them." At the last sentence Farsian had enugh and activated his ability. The poor scout that was delivering the message earlier instantly fell to the ground unconscious. But the bandit boss just smiled briefly before saying.

"So you really are a vampire? I wouldn't have thought it. The other people of your kind are usually more powerfull than you. Could it be that you still haven't lived long enugh? Tell me how many decades has it been since you were transformed?" The man asked with curiosity. He didn't show the least bit of fear. This made Farsian frown. Was this boss really so strong?

"1 decade. Actually even less than that." Farsian said after contemplating for a short while. What did he have to lose by telling him that? Nothing really at most he just had to kill this guy and install a puppet leader that was loyal to him. But what came out of the other persons mouth was something that Farsian could have never seen coming.

"I see. I'm telling you this now since your teacher obviously didn't mention it. My band of mercenarys and your family of vampires, we have a deal! They won't harm us and we won't bother them. We even keep a big ammount of captives here for your kind to feast on! You can't harm me!" At that point he was just laughing out loud.

What did he say? Something about vampires and bandits having some kind of secret contract? Farsian was shaken inwardly. Should he recognise that contract and withdraw or declare it for naught and simply attack to create his own army? He was judging the credibility of a bandit and decided that he would still make him a puppet.

After making a decision Farsian unsheated his daggers and calmly looked at the old man.

"Old man it is time for you to sleep. I will take over from now on!" Farsian held both daggers in front of him threatening that old man who was still laughing.

When the man realized what was happening he calmed down fast and instead looked towards his war hammer that was lying next to him.

"I see. To bad it had to come this way. Don't blame me for what is gonna happen next!" The old man said and rapidly snatched his war hammer that was right next to him.

But Farsian was also very fast. When he detected that the other party was going for their weapon he immediately started sprinting. He still wasn't back at 100% strenght yet but that didn't matter. He was still far too powerfull for an ordinary mercenary.

Farsian was approaching fast. When he was at a distance of 2 meters he made a jump and turned in the air. With a sommersault he succesfully came behind the old man and was about to put his dagger at the throat that was exposed for him to cut. But unnexpectedly the old man only needed one hand to lift the heavy warhammer and used the other hand to grab Farsians approaching dagger hand. He grabbed Farsian at the wrist and threw him over his shoulder infront of him on the ground.

"Hah, you are at least a hundred years too early to try that trick on me!" He said full of pride as he holstered the heavy warhammer.

Farsian was now on the ground infront of him. At that point he realized he had f***** up. But the old man didn't push the attack instead he watched Farsians every move carefully. It wasn't that he couldn't do it but he was still bound by the contract he made with the other vampires. Even if Farsian was ok with breaching the contract, he wasn't. If the other vampires would know of him killing one of them they would propably mercilessly slaughter him in his sleep. He didn't want that to happen so he could only defend against Farsian but not attack.

"Come on boy let's talk about this, ok?" The man said as he stared at Farsian.

"I can forgive you for everything that you did in the past few days. You can even take that merchant bitch with you and whoever you desire! But in turn you have to leave." The man said with a forced smile. He was allready greatly compromising on his side. That father of hers had allready said that he would pay 2000 gold coins if they let her leave unscratched.

But how could he have expected that Farsian would just show up out of nowhere.

"Oh I know! How about I tell you where you can find others of your kind? I even got a spell book. If you wish I can give you that for a small price."
