22 The traveling Merchan
Farsian looked at his belongings.
All that he had was gold... But he didn't know where he could trade his gold for important necessities. He needed a coach or at least a horse or else he had to walk. It would not be hard for him to walk to the next city but it would be very suspicious if he got there faster than a horse. It would be bad if anyone cought on to his identity.
Farsian walked around the small camp it wasn't very large only about a kilometer in every direction. It was propably one of the smaller ones out there. After all there were millions of people living in that city and now they all fled in panic.
Farsian smiled, when he thought about all the despair that he had sown in the city. If it wasn't for him being in the middle of so many people he would propably party like in a disco or at least endulge himself in pleasure.
When Farsian was walking by a tent he heard soft voices of women inside, he considered going inside and joining in on the fun but he soon discarded that thought instead he waited patiently outside for them to finish.
Half an hour later the tent slowly opened and a blushing female elf walked outside. When she saw Farsian she was first shocked and then she ran. Farsian didn't bother following her though, instead he stole a glance at the inside of the tent.
Inside was a woman in her mid 30s half naked on the floor. She also blushed but soon got her emotions under control. Her blush vanished and instead there was a very seducive smile on her lips as she beckoned Farsian to come inside.
Farsian didn't resist and instead calmly walked inside. Once inside he closed the tent behind him and smiled at the woman.
"You seem to be in a good mood. May I know what the occasion is?" He asked as he slowly came over to her and spread his arms out.
"I just made the deal of my live! I'm rich now, all the people out there need food and drinks not to mention beds and tents. My family will provide all that and more and we get paid pretty good for it!" The woman laughed out loud.
"But enugh of that you must be pent up after listening to me and my little girlfriend from before, how about we enyoy ourselfes?" She spread her legs and invited him to some fun but Farsian had other thoughts and instead asked more questions. Soon the woman learned that Farsian wasn't interested in her and instead just wanted to ask stupid questions. In the end he even asked her when she was going to leave to get the rest of the goods. But she wasn't impatient and instead answered his every question. She could tell that he had to hide something and that he really wanted to get away from this place so she made an offer to him.
He could decide to either sleep with her or pay her 10 gold and she would bring him away and not ask any questions. But what followed after astonished her. Farsian took out his pouch and gave her 10 gold coins. She was honestly doubting her own beauty at this moment. No that could not be the problem she was almost as beautyfull as those rich noble girls from the castle where she came from. That guy had to be gay or something.
But Farsian wasn't gay he just couldn't let her see his wounds, maybe he would accept her offer in the future when he was healed.
The next morning Farsian walked into the coach together with his new benefactor. Together they would leave this camp and head to the next city. If luck willed it he might even get some food along the way. But for now he was contend enugh to just leave this place sooner than later.
Along the way Farsian learned the name of his benefactor. Her name was Helena and she was a wandering merchant. They had a long road ahead of them so they talked a lot together and Farsian even learned some of her busness. If he wanted to he could propably become a merchant as well. He had tons of gold coins from his assassin jobs and he now knew one or two tricks to get by as a merchant. He could also use his identity as merchant to get easier acces to citys.
But that still had time, for now he just had to concentrate on healing himself and enyoing his time together with Helena.
When they were making a quick stop at a village along the way Farsian made a small trip around the area to see if there was anything interesting. What he saw was very shocking.
There was another vampire in that village. And she was far older than him. She also owned the hostel where he and Helena would sleep for the night. It seemed like the other guests weren't suspecting anything and the villagers were rather nice to her. Farsian wondered how she managed to fit into society so well, but he decided not to bother her she was to powerfull for him to mess with.
But unfortunately she had other plans.
When Farsian went to bed in his own room there was a shadow that was lurking in the corner of his room. He had yet to sleep when a voice sounded from the darkness.
"Who are you?" That voice was soft and gentle but it gave Farsian a cold sweat. He didn't see her coming or heard her. It was as if she just appeared out of nowhere.
"I'm Farsian my maker is Angelica." He didn't dare to lie or to leave something out when facing her.
"Oh Angelica! I remember her... She still owes me something from back then." A female silhouette walked out of the shadows.
"Or was it I that owed her something? I can't remember." She scratched her head and looked intently at Farsian.
"Hmm maybe I should teach you some blood magic and call us even? You're still a fledgling right?" She looked at him with her deep blue eyes. She was feeling rather generous after hearing that her old friend was still alive and now had a baby.
She gave him the choice to select what blood magic she would teach him. One was a simple tracking spell that could help him stalk his prey with its aura, another spell was for Farsian to change his face to impersonate other people and the last spell alowed him to controll the mind of a mortal.
They were all usefull and if he had access to them earlier he would propably have choosen the impersonating spell but now he had his eyes on another spell. He wanted to controll the minds of the innocent and make them his slaves. That would save him a lot of trouble in the future.
Even if money could buy everything in this world and he had a lot of it, he still felt saver with a hypnosis spell.
Doris, that was the name of the other vampire, also told him that he could come and visit her any time he wanted if he wanted to learn the other spells as well. Farsian felt more reassured now that he had picked the right choice and that he could come back for more in the future.
Farsian and Doris spend the whole night together and by the next morning Farsian had learned the new spell. Now all he had to do was stare another person in the soul and he could controll their mind. Farsian also learned that he was too strong for a fledgling and that by now most of his kind would have learned more than just one spell. He blamed Angelica for that but didn't say it out loud in front of her friend. He was happy that he had managed to finally learn a spell.
When it was time for them to leave Farsian thanked Doris and prepared to leave together with Helena. He would test his new ability on Helena along the way. That way he could better understand his new ability and also train himself in proficiency with it.
But Doris didn't let him leave empty handed and instead told a maid that she should go with Farsian and keep him company along the way. Her eyes flared red for a short time when she spoke to that maid and then she turned around to Farsian and gave him a meaningfull look towards his stomach. Even if he wore fresh clothing and nothing was showing on the outside Doris still saw that he was wounded. That maid would help him recover faster.
