24 Cafe Chaos 8.1
We didn't drive very far. The car stopped at a cute little café that had white little tables outside with blue and white umbrellas popped open to block the sun rays. Maliki parks at the curb turning off the engine I glace to the side watching him open his door without a word and makes his way over and open mine for me. I find it funny no matter how many times he does it. It's like it never gets tedious. He does it without a second thought which is weird for men of this generation. He stretch's out his big hand helping me out of the car.
"Would you like to dine inside or outside?" I look at him as if he had grown three heads. Was he giving me a choice? He was being far too nice for how I had been treating him all morning.
"After what happened, you're not going to make me hide away inside?" I ask absent mindedly. I watch his expression soften a little.
"You'll be safe with me, so stay by my side." At his words I feel a small ping in my heart. Stupid thing knock that shit off he just means it's his job to protect me. When it comes to anything other than the job and fulfilling the deal, we made he won't get involved he proved that last night. I mean sure chances are my fear would have gotten the better of me being raped over and over has definitely made it difficult to have a relationship of the physical time but in that moment, I felt good, felt like I could and it was frustrating. First time I wished I had owned a toy. Maybe that's what I should do clearly a toy was safer. No risks or emotions.
"Jenny, which is it? We only have an hour unless you want to say your done for the day." He pulls me back from my thoughts, shoot.
I hang my head a little embarrassed to look at him. "Outside, I never get to as Miranda is always afraid of passer byers and paparazzi surrounding me, and causing a disturbance."
His hand wraps around my waist leading me over to an empty table. I wait as he pulls out a chair lifting it a little as to not have it scrape against the wooden patio floor. He waits for me to sit and pushes it in a little after. Did he treat his girlfriends like this normally? If so, I can't help feeling a little jealous. Feeling like a princess everyday must be nice, but I'd hope then, that his girlfriend would do something equal in return to make him feel like a king after treating her so well. I mean he said he had no one in his life like that, that means there has to be something wrong with him, right? I stare at him pondering. His chin resting on his fist being propped up as he leans on the table. His attention serious as he perused the menu turning the pages that the waitress had dropped off soon as we sat down. As if sensing my stare, he looks up our eyes meeting.
"You already figure out what you want?" He looks down at my menu laying closed still on the table.
"Oh, ummm." I nod losing my words. I watch as he closes his menu and raises his hand.
The waitress who had brought the menus was gone and instead an older man in a white dress shirt, black slacks, dress shoes and an apron walked over. He had a pen and pad out.
"Are you ready to order?" Maliki Gestures for me to go first. I feel panic in me a little as I hadn't actually looked at the menu. I technically had lied when I said I was ready to cover the fact that I had been staring at him.
I clutch my fists under the table in my lap wanting to hide hoping that they have basic salads on the menu so I don't look like an idiot. "I'll take a creaser salad with dressing on the side" I feel my breath release after I watch him jot down my order and moves onto Maliki who puts in his order.
An awkward silence falls between use now that there is no menu to look at. I look around at all the passer byers.
"Nervous?" I turn back at him, his serious eyes digging into me.
"I have no idea what you could mean." I retort.Fact was I didn't know but I was more worried about him wanting to talk about what happened at the set.
He smiles a little "You don't have to worry about anyone bothering you while I here."
"That's what you were talking about!" I blurt out before I can hold back.
His face gets serious "what else would I be talking about."
"Nothing." I reply quickly realizing I had just made a mistake.
