39 If I defeat you, you will become my girlfriend

"Cold!"

Nam Ji Won regrets coming to the roof now. But, the other option is to clean the bathroom. Who can argue with her elder sister when she is being stubborn? She blames it all on Tae Il.

Tae Il awkwardly looks at the moon. He isn't wearing warm clothes either. He doesn't appreciate Go Eun's help either. What is he supposed to do at the roof in this cold weather? He peeks at Ji Won who is sighing to herself.

"Do you like him?" He blurts out.

"What?" The cold is getting to her head. She wraps her arms around herself. This is a punishment, alright. "What did you say?"

He looks at her with a poker face and slowly speaks each word at a time.

"Do you like Choi Min Ho as a man?"

"Ha Ha!" She lets out a strange laugh. "Me like him? That fox? Only if I have hit my head."

"You have hit your head." He gets irritated. "Five years ago, you hit your head."

"That..." She kicks his leg. "I don't like him. Don't say strange things."

"That's a relief." Tae Il rubs his leg and murmurs.

She pulls his ear. "Why are you relieved? Do you think that I will start liking you?"

He slaps her hand. "Yes."

His blatant honesty disturbs her. She awkwardly looks away and sees Choi Min Ho standing in front of the house. He is staring at the shadow. She wonders what he is doing.

"Do you dislike me?" He stands in front of her, blocking her view. "Am I not handsome?"

"I always wanted to date a guy who is taller, stronger, and older than me," She tells him absentmindedly while trying to look at Choi Min Ho. He looks like he is talking to someone. She can't see someone else there.

"Why?" Tae Il hasn't noticed what she has been trying to see.

"My ex-boyfriend broke up because I was taller, stronger, and older." She explains in a low voice. She notices another man standing at a distance from her home. Choi Min Ho seems to be talking to that man. Can they hear each other at this distance? Super ears?

"Look at me." Tae Il wraps his arm around her waist. "I am taller than you. I am older than you. I am also stronger than you."

She doesn't hear him. She is trying to guess what Choi Min Ho and that man are talking about. Is he meeting a friend in front of her house? Why the distance?

"Ji Won, do I fit to be your boyfriend now?" He whispers in her ear. His tickling breath snaps her out of it. She pushes him away.

"What are you doing?" She snaps at him.

"I am fit to be your boyfriend now." He eyes her with a cunning smile. "Your conditions are rather simple. You want someone who is taller, stronger, and older as your boyfriend, right?"

Nam Ji Won is baffled by his words. "Yes, those are my conditions. But how are you older and stronger than me? You are barely taller than me by a few inches."

Tae Il grins and comes closer to her. "You fell asleep for five years, right? You are still mentally eighteen. You are mentally younger than me. I am also stronger."

"Right." Nam Ji Won can't tell him that she wandered like a ghost for the last five years. "Did you forget how you passed out at Slow Poison's house? You are stronger than me?"

"I am stronger than you." Tae Il knows that he has been defeated by her, but that was a long time ago. Now, he has grown. He is sure that he can defeat her at martial arts. This person has been asleep for a long time. Her strength should decrease by now.

He has no idea.

"Haha..." Nam Ji Won puts her hands on her waist. "Let's fight now. If I defeat you, you will give up on me, right?"

"If I defeat you, you will become my girlfriend." He smirks at her. "You will admit your feelings for me."

"Admit my true feelings?" She is full of energy now. "You are overconfident."

"You can keep lying, but I can see your heart." Tae Il looks at her stubbornly. "As long as it's you, I don't mind being lied to.

Nam Ji Won's heart isn't made of stone. She is touched by his words. Then, she realizes that she remembers those words.

"Those lines are from a drama." She doesn't know why she feels angrier. "At least, use genuine words."

Tae Il takes note in his mind. "Those words are indeed from a drama, but feelings behind those words are genuine."

"I want to beat the crap out of you." If she doesn't, then she is going to go mad.

Tae Il dodges the attack fluently. He has been learning martial arts from Nam Go Eun because Nam Go Eun insisted that she needed a practice partner. But, Ji Won is faster than Go Eun. She sends a kick. He blocks it with his hand. She pounds on his stomach with her left hand. She doesn't hold back at all. He doesn't give up. He lowers his head and lightly bites her nape.

Nam Ji Won jolts and backs away with a startled look.

"You lost!" He is barely standing because of her punch to his stomach. How is she still this strong?

"This is cheating." She steps away. "You can't kiss during a fight."

"You didn't set any rule before the fight." He chuckles. "I thought that I had to defeat you only."

"It's not a fair match," She yells.

"A loss is a loss. It doesn't matter whether it was fairly fought or not." There is another voice. Nam Ji Won and Seo Tae Il turn to the person. A man in turtle neck black sweater is standing at the corner, eyeing them with curiously.
