7 War Is On With the Other Princes

Serah understood that it was better for Laquadia to be not in here rather than to hear the commotions that would happen sooner in this chamber. Without time to ponder her thoughts about that man. Serah who was now flying in the center of the chamber introduced herself in front of all the important politicians and Jadasians of the Empire of Jadase.

"I am Serah Nichole Derus, daughter of the 5th Chancellor of the Republic of United Elements of Planet Vertusa, Hozer Michael Derus. I am here in this chamber to pay respect to the Royal Bloods, Princes and to the Great Emperor of the Great Empire of Jadase, Emperor Madur Zein Jadase," Serah spoke in a polite and respectful manner and bowed her head for ten seconds towards the Emperor before she continued, "My Lords, war only meant death, suffering, and loss of lives of our loved ones, family, and friends. Especially if this war was caused by a great misunderstanding."

"It's true, she's Laquadia's wife."

"Wife? Don't be too illogical with your words, Frozal."

"Then what is the right word to be used, Desu? Girlfriend? Beloved? Dear? Darling? Honey? Or Sugar Baby?"

"Hahahaha! I love your words, Zion. They're unique."

"Zion, stop the nonsense already!"

"Don't protect your friend, Pozial. You know that Laquadia was also backstabbing you."

"Frozal, Pozial, Desu, Zion! Stop blabbering! You all insult your statuses!"

"Oh, the brother had spoken. I rest my peace."

"Zion, it's 'rest my case' not 'peace'."

"Thankfully, your other half is not here, Pozial."

"Hahahaha!" All of the Princes laughed telepathically, except Beru. They were all sitting below the Emperor's throne. Beru cut off his telepathic sense and went back to look at the woman in the center.

When all of the Jadasians inside the chamber heard what Serah had said, they were all stunned because she didn't even bother to hide her intention even in the first part of her speech. All the Jadasians looked at her with different emotions because they knew that when the Empire decided to wage war, it would never be reversed.

"I am here because I want to make sure that my planet and my country together with its people will not worry about the destruction of their home. I want to bring hope for my people that in every single day that they wake up, they will never worry about not seeing the light of the day the next morning."

Convincing these enigmatic politicians was a very arduous thing to do. Serah knew there was only a 25% probability that she could convince them, but she still believed she could.

"My father the Great Chancellor of my Nation wanted to give this message to the Great Emperor," she said unlocking the round ball that instantly appeared on her left hand. Light burst out inside the ball and the image of an old man sitting in a nicely crafted chair inside a spacious room could be seen looking very seriously. It was a hologram. The old man started to speak in a resolute manner with seriousness in his eyes, "The Empire of Jadase is a powerful nation. We know that we cannot defend our country and save our people from annihilation. However, I believe with great cooperation with the Jadasians we can bring peace and hope to our pe..."

Boommmm!

"Sorry, Laquadia's, sugar baby."

"When Laquadia knows you are calling his woman, sugar baby! You'll definitely be destroyed, Zion!"

"Desu, don't remind me. Laquadia's a computer illiterate. What will he do? Type the total of 6 and 10?"

"Hahahaha!"

"Stop the nonsense already the both of you! Frozal, had you forgotten about your frozen City?! Don't add another injury to a wound!"

"Pozial, just shut your mouth!"

A powerful resonating sound spread out all over the chamber. The old man hadn't finished what he had to say when the ball had been thrown into pieces. Serah was flabbergasted on what had happened, and before she could retort, someone with a very deep voice spoke nonchalantly, "Child, you are just wasting your time," said the man who was sitting on his throne. This man was no other than the Empire's Emperor.

The Emperor looked like a teenager who had a handsome feature but his eyes were that of a knowledgeable old man who journeyed through countless eons of time. Everyone in the chamber never expected this to happen. They knew that the woman would never succeed but not in this manner. When the Emperor spoke, everyone understood that this assembly was already over and war will proceed as planned.

Serah wanted to cry but she stopped her self from doing it. Inside, she still believed that this was not yet the end of the rope for her people and for her country. The only thing that she regretted being here, was not coming back with the hope to her nation.

"I, the 200th Millennia Emperor of the Empire, Emperor Madur Zein Jadase, gives you this gift. Child, don't cry. When you come back, you'll bring a big surprise to your people and to your father. You have received a priceless gift from me. Hmph!" The Emperor said in a tranquil and sarcastic manner without even giving a thought to the gift he gave to Serah.

"Everyone, the assembly is over," he added. "Child, when the Empire decides to wage war it will not be reversed as it is the Imperial Way. I give you my time because of the First Prince. I know the history the both of you shared."

After speaking those words, the Emperor walked out in the exit together with the four other Princes leaving Serah and her subordinates behind listless. She looked at the last Jadasian who was still inside, looking at her with his handsome face.

"Serah, you knew that coming in here meant nothing. Why did you still come? To humiliate yourself or an excuse to see him? Serah, we are Jadasians. We can love women that are out of our league, but we can't marry them. Destroy his love for you if you still want your people breathing. Serah..."

"Stop! I don't want to hear any of your lectures, Beru! What's mine is mine; What's ours is ours! You're a Great Prince, Beru! Don't meddle with garbages like us!" Serah shouted back at him telepathically.

"Never open the gift."

"Why won't I?! It came from the Great Emperor of this Nation! It is an honor for me to open it!"

"Don't be hard-headed with me, Serah! An antimatter bomb is within it. Bye," Beru said and went out of the chamber. Serah looked at the fading figure of Beru.

"Thanks," she whispered and threw the gift the Emperor had given her.

The chamber became a desolated space without a single sound, only Serah's and her companion's pounding heart. Only the feeling of unprecedented hopelessness and pain vibrated around the chamber.

"My lady, it's time to go home," said one of Serah's companion with a despaired voice. This journey to the Empire made no progress in changing the fate of her country. She doesn't know what to say to her father after she came back.

After going back to their suite, Serah and her companions packed up and boarded a Cruiser that belonged to their country. Before they boarded the Cruiser, she looked at the direction of the Kingdom of Yoahan with sorrow. She knew that without the First Prince, the Empire would never bother giving her even the slightest bit of its time.

"Goodbye, Daniel," the only words Serah had said before she entered the Cruiser. The Cruiser powered up its engines and flew into space and made a hyperjump that tore the void.

Laquadia who looked high up into space saw the afterimage of the Cruiser which Serah had boarded. He was at Sarah's suite spying on her before she departed. He hid in the corner witnessing the last time they would see each other as lovers. He knew that Serah never had the chance to change the course of the war. The reason why he didn't go to the assembly was that he hated to see her dejected face. Laquadia knew that the next time they would see each other again would already be on the battlefield. He only wished that there would be no untoward scenarios that would make her suffer. Even though they were now sworn enemies, he still doesn't have the heart to do some serious battle with her.

"I hope you'll never change and I wish you'll love my gift." The only words Laquadia could muster before he disappeared together with the cold air that battered the surroundings.
