49 Dragon Maneuver
On the front lines, chaos was occurring among the empire's soldiers.
"Why are our allies attacking us?!"
"What's happening here!"
"Retreat!"
"I'm on your side! Don't kill me!"
No matter how many times a man tried to swing his arms, he would still be killed by the bombardment by the artillery that was supposed to be used against the Chen Clan.
Various bewildered shouts could be heard while blood stained the ground. But this didn't last soon as the empire's soldiers quickly managed to retreat and regroup after fighting off the Chen clan and some of those who had turned coat against them.
Most of those who had betrayed the empire had been wearing badges that had a design of a green coloured battle axe. They were the troops that were sent in by the Lord of the Southern Continent.
Seeing that the Empire had already begun retreating, the warriors of the Chen clan broke out into cheers as they had managed to hold out against the Empire. But this was short lived as they soon started reorganizing their ranks.
Ye Chen who saw this immediately called out a command. He knew that the strategy only worked mainly due to the sudden betrayal that Gatsby's troops had done and that the enemy was caught off guard due to the suddenness of the attack.
He also knew that using this strategy would be a double-edged sword. After all, he would be using troops that were from the south, and if this was found out by the higher-ups from the empire then this would simply doom Gatsby.
In order to avoid that, he would need to strike exactly on the moment of confusion and annihilate them before they pass on the information.
"It's time."
He then looked at the men who were sitting near him. Upon eye contact, these men nodded their heads as if giving out consent. Ye Chen then gave out a command.
"Start the Dragon Maneuver."
Hearing that, his people began to relay the information to the front lines as quickly as they can. They knew that the main key to playing the next step was speed.
After hearing these, The Dragon Troops who were tasked to charge earlier then took out bottles that had green liquid inside it.
All at once, they began to drink it and their bodies began to change rapidly visible to the naked eye. Their muscles began to enlarge, their skins began to show a tinge of pink, and their eyes dilated and somehow had a lizard-like look into them.
After not less than a second, thousands of men began charging against the soldiers of the Empire.
The massacre had begun!
"What the-"
The still confused soldier from the Empire was slain without even being able to see the blade that had decapitated it.
"Kill them! We outnumber them!" An order had been issued from a higher ranked personnel from the Empire. He had obviously underestimated the capabilities of their enemies and were now facing the full brunt of their actions.
"These monsters! No matter how many times I've hit him he still dares to smile." By now, a couple of men were already killed while the Dragon troops from Chen Clan still had no casualties except for those who had been killed without being able to drink the potion earlier on the skirmish.
"FOR THE GLORY OF CHEN CLAN!" The man who was fighting against the Dragon Troops was now barely hanging on, his arms were already tired from taking on the heavy blows that his enemy had given him.
"You lunatics! DIE!!!" He then made a last attempt as he plunged deeper in order to slay at least one more enemy for the Empire, but unfortunately, he was disarmed by a heavy blow that the enemy gave him until he was finally killed.
Soon the Dragon Troops had divided themselves and assaulted various openings in the Empire's army due to the holes that had appeared by the earlier confusion. They plunged and murdered, rinse and repeat.
They were simply unstoppable!
No more than thirty seconds had passed and the one thousand strong army that was reduced by the earlier bombing was almost decimated.
On a certain building, Anastasia was deeply delighted to see the quick victory that the Chen Clan had achieved against the Empire. This was but a small step, but it would surely boost their morale for the other upcoming battles. The main importance of the battle laid on the fact that they had managed to fight against the empire who this time was fully armed. This was unlike the first time that the Chen Clan had revolted.
Seeing these results, made Ye Chen frown. He had already loosed almost half of the Dragon Troops. This was a bad sign because he knows that the Empire had a larger amount of recruitable population and took a much shorter time to train its soldiers, while he only had limited resources while taking at least two whole years to produce a Chen Clan Warrior. If he were to train them assuming that they were to be a part of the Dragon Troops then it would take three more years. Making a total of five years.
He then closed his eyes as he contemplated over his loss.
"Amazing!"
He was disrupted by a voice which had irritated him as his subordinates know not to disturb him, specially when he was contemplating. So he then opened his eyes and happen to find the young Einder Descent oggling over the screen. It seemed that he was in deep awe over what had just happened. After all, an army twice their size was annihilated by one which has only half of theirs.
Cray looked like he was deeply impressed by this feet. "This...this is simply....Genius!" He then glanced at Ye Chen.
Ye Chen then gave him a kind smile as he stood up from his chair and walked outside the room. He then gave out a quick sigh as he closed the door as if to block it.
He then took out the sphere and once again saw the familiar image of the man who betrayed the Empire, Gatsby Arcos.
