41 Flame Incubator
Cray who was still in the middle of contemplating was surprised when he was called out by Ye Chen. He still needed a bit of time to let it all sink in.
This time, he was surprised when he looked at the thing that Ye Chen gave him.
"What's this?"
He slowly bent over and grabbed the box that was placed on top of the table in front of him. He was puzzled as he looked at how it's tightly shut. The texture, layout, and design of the box felt really familiar. It was as if he had seen something like this before.
At that moment he remembered the box where Note had originated. This time without hesitating he immediately bit his finger and let a small amount of blood drop towards the box.
"Identity confirmed. Cray "Funf" Anderson, the fifth descendant of the Einder bloodline. Clearance level three unlocked."
Just as he had thought, it was the same as the first box that he had received. Only this time, the said box was from the Great Einder instead of his father.
Ye Chen who was standing on the other side was a bit puzzled. Something wasn't right about the current situation.
This was completely different from what he had expected. Though he was stunned he quickly regained his previous calm look.
However, Anastasia couldn't be fooled. She had managed to see through Ye Chen's earlier expression.
"So... What's in the box?" Ye Chen cleared his throat as he asked Cray.
"I don't know.... What's it supposed to be?" Cray muttered when he saw Ye Chen. He then made his voice louder. "Nothing."
"Pardon?" Ye Chen looked as it if he had misheard something
"I said nothing." Cray then showed him the empty box. "there's absolutely nothing inside this box.
Ye Chen who had seen this was absolutely astonished. "no way....." He softly muttered.
Anastasia who had a doubting look asked Ye Chen.
"Why do you have that look on your face? Were you actually expecting something else to be inside that box?" She inserted her dominant voice, especially in her second sentence.
Ye Chen saw that he was currently in a bad situation. "I mean, he used his own blood to open it but at the end, he received nothing." he managed to quickly spout out nonsense instantaneously. His reaction was quick and nonetheless looked natural.
Still, Anastasia wasn't convinced. She noticed that Ye Chen was hiding something from them. Just when she was about to once again question Ye Chen, Stan who was asleep had been awoken.
"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Cray immediately went towards the now awake Stan. Somehow he began to think of him as someone really close.
The both of them had not only been through life and death situations multiple times but he had also kept on saving him one moment after the other.
"Yeh, but my body still hurts so much." Stan was resting on a soft chair slowly stood up. He then noticed that they were on the Einder Stronghold as the Sacred Island of the Chens.
By now he can already move. The pain that he was feeling was only due to his sore muscles. This would soon disappear after some rest.
At that moment Cray remembered the things that Note had told him earlier. "By the way, does anyone here know something about the Flame Incubator?"
"There's one located at the bottom of the- .....I think Stan can guide the way" This time Ye Chen looked suspiciously at Cray.
Stan then stood up and showed Cray the way towards the room where the Flame Incubator was placed.
A couple of moments after Stan and Cray disappeared. Ye Chen looked puzzled as he was still pondering the question on his head. "How did he know about the existence of the Flame Incubator?"
Stan who was leading the way headed towards the lowest level of the Stronghold. "In here." Stan then stood in front of a door, he raised his hand and clutched his fist pointing it towards the door. The ring on his hand glowed and the door that was blocking them opened.
The both of them entered and saw a big machine that's sphere shaped. Stan immediately went and operated some buttons and the sphere began to open up revealing a chair inside it.
"Go ahead and sit down. I'll take care of the rest."
Cray followed Stan's instructions and sat at the chair located in the middle. After Cray had finally gotten comfortable while sitting, the machine once again enclosed itself and left Cray inside it.
"Eh- What's happening!" Surprised Cray was about to stand up when he saw a screen showing Stan's face on a screen that was floating right in front of him.
"Relax, everything's okay. All you need to do is to sit there comfortably and I'll handle the rest. Oh, I forgot to tell you that you might also feel sleepy. It's okay to sleep, I'll just wake you up when it's all finished."
Although Cray heard Stan, he still couldn't relax as he was told. Regardless, he still tried his best to stay comfortable on the chair.
A few moments later, he began to feel something warm and fuzzy. And before he knew it, he was already relaxed without him really trying. His eyelids were slowly getting very heavy. He could feel that all his muscles that were previously tense had gotten soft. The feeling was really intoxicating, he couldn't help but feel really drowsy.
Stan who can see that Cray had already slept pressed a button. When he pushed it, blue liquid began to fill the Chamber that Cray was sitting in.
A timer began to tick as it showed that there was still twenty-nine minutes and fifty-nine seconds left. Stan then closed all the remaining prompts that were on the interface of the controls only leaving the timer ticking.
"For now, I'll also rest here." Stan yawned as he stretched his arms.
This time, he was surprised when he looked at the thing that Ye Chen gave him.
