Moments before Cray had finished the Trial of Fire, his body that was being controlled by his father had managed to sneak inside the infirmary and had managed to temporarily tend to Cray's injuries.

"I guess that'll do for a temporary fix." Just as he had finished, he felt Robert's presence.

"Look who we have here."

Seeing that Cray had noticed him, Robert directly stopped near the light where they can both see each other's faces.

"You're really troublesome. I finally understand why the empire directly ordered us to go all the way here."

Robert began slowly walking towards Cray, he had a very twisted smile.

"I mean, who expected that a little brat like you would be able to slaughter a squad of professionally trained soldiers?"

As he finished his words, he had already brandished his sword. This was immediately followed by Robert lunging towards Cray in attempts to stab him. Cray who had seen this instantly shifted his body in order to dodge the incoming sword.

Nick who was in control of Cray's body felt the shivers. He knew if he didn't have good reflexes then he would've been caught up by the blade.

Even if he was wearing an armor, as his own powers were in a weakened state it wouldn't be hard enough to take the full strength that Robert had used with his sword.

This was bad. Nick knew that the current him was no match for Robert who could defeat a Lord Class monster. He's vastly outmatched! The only thing that he could use against Robert was tricks that he wouldn't be able to use in a full frontal battle.

"Hou, so you can dodge that?" Robert began to look at Cray and made another attack with his sword.

This time instead of passively dodging his enemy's attack, he initiated a counterattack by igniting a tiny explosion from his hand.

Robert was surprised but immediately retreated a few steps because he felt the same eerie feeling that he had when Cray previously wanted to assassinate him.

His judgment was correct, he had managed to get away from Cray's attack. He then looked at how space seemed to twist upon making contact with the tiny explosion that Cray had made.

This was simply outrageous! Robert had never seen an ability like this.

"INTERESTING! You! Fight me!" Robert appeared to have entered a crazed state as he pointed at Cray with his rapier. He had finally figured out how Cray had managed to wipe out the soldiers that he had sent.

"That power..... I SEE! AHAHAHAHAHAHA" Robert started to unleash a series of attacks with his rapier and the dagger that he had just unsheathed.

This was bad, Nick knew that one wrong step would cause the death of Cray. He knew how to get out of this situation, but if he does so it might cause an extreme burden to Cray's body causing him to be injured further.

All he could do right now was to endure everything. That's right, he's going to endure this because he knew... Just thinking about it almost made him grin.

Robert, on the other hand, was excited. He had never faced this kind of enemy before. Every time he thought of that power Cray had just shown him he couldn't help but be thrilled.

"HEY! IS THIS ALL YOU CAN DO?" Robert continued to taunt Cray after every strike that he made. "It's going to get boring if you don't use that power!"

After saying so, his rapier had managed to pierce through Cray's left shoulder after making a faint with his dagger.

"HEY! You're going to die if you don't use that power that you used a while ago!" Robert pulled out the rapier and once again aimed at Cray's chest. This time Cray could no longer move steadily.

"Too bad looks like you can only use that power once, otherwise you'd used it already." With that Robert proceeded to kill no longer waiting for Cray to recover.

*Ding*

Just as Robert had felt that he had finally pierced something smoke began to spray out covering his sight.

At that moment, Nick heard a notification telling him that Cray had successfully completed his first Trial of Fire. He was elated and proud that his own son had managed to complete it in a short amount of time, not even a whole day had passed since Cray started it yet he had already finished.

At the same time, he was also sad. With this, he could no longer watch over Cray. His life ember which was already low decreased even further when he used his attack on Robert.

Robert who was left was pissed. He attempted to track down and chase them but he suddenly noticed the built-in emergency alarm inside the vehicle had been flashing red.

Seeing this he immediately left for the command room and when he checked it he suddenly noticed the graveness of the situation. A Lord Class monster had begun terrorizing their defensive lines.

What's worse was that they had received information that three Lord Rank monsters were also heading their way. Though he was relieved when he heard that reinforcements would be coming to deal with the Lord Rank monsters.

This time making haste he immediately went towards the Golden Lion that was leading the other monsters.

"Everyone, good work. From now on you stay on the back. I'm going to take care of this monster." With that, he began to attack the Lord Rank monster.
