22 Escaped
Cray still didn't know what was happening outside when Robert had left.
Currently, he began to once again contact Note. But to no avail he still didn't get any response. "Note, please respond." He couldn't believe that he was getting as he was already shouting it out. "Note pl-please." His voice had already broken into a cry. He knew that help would no longer be coming but he still didn't want to let go of all hope.
Then he remembered the stance that his father had taught him. He could still vaguely remember the power that seemed to envelop his whole body. He thought that maybe if he tried it again then he might be able to break out of his current predicament.
He also knew that all this was just wishful thinking, but he couldn't stand it any longer.
He then slowly imitated the same movements that he made that his father had shown him. He then activated the first stage. "The shield is my domain, I alone shall ordain!" After saying so a dark and eerie aura began to spread around his arm. The bangle that held back his movements with his right arm had shattered
"I DID IT" He was elated when he had finally begun to remove at least one of the bangles. But his happiness didn't last long because the one on his neck began to flash a red light. He then felt that it was slowly constricting his neck. He was slowly being suffocated. Every move that he made would make it tighter, so he just sat still.
The constricting had made him loose focus making his small shield disappear as if it was never really there in the first place. "N-No!" This time thorough his own sheer will he began to move. His breaths were beginning to turn into small quick ones. "NO!" He then forcefully tried to remove the one constricting his neck, but his fruitless attempts didn't really make any progress. His face began to turn blue as he could no longer breathe, but even so he still continued to claw with all his might.
He continued until he couldn't even move his own hands. His own eyes had long started tearing up. Just like that he had passed out as his unconscious body dropped on the cold hard floor. After the small thud that his body had made, the tattoo on his body then began to exude out black colored flames.
"Tch! I didn't expect that he'd go this far." A man's voice that came from Cray's tattoo could be heard. The voice sounded angry. "Note, you should've just let me do this from the start!"
After leaving that angry remark, the shackles around Cray then began to melt into a puddle of liquid metal. "Note, Permission to override Cray's body!" His erratic voice screamed as if wanting for a reply as soon as possible.
"This might remove your trace from the system, are you still willing to do it?" Note's voice answered back calmly. "My son's going to die at this rate! Yes! Hurry it up!"
"Permission granted."
After that, Cray's body which was lifelessly sprawled on the floor then began to stand up. The black flames that was surrounding him began to burn stronger.
Cray's eyes which were red began to show a crimson luster. His body then began to absorb some of the flames which in turn made his complexion turn for the better. He then walked towards one of the white walls.
*BANG* A loud sound shook the whole room. The wall that was previously standing there now had a large hole in the middle.
"Did a monster attack us just know? Where did it come from? Damage reports?" Robert immediately asked one of the soldiers as he stabilized himself from the impact. He was terrified of that attack, because they were currently located in the middle of their formation. If a monster were able to attack them out of nowhere then that would spell the end for them.
"S-sir, It's not a monster. The only damage that we incurred was from the prison containing the captive." The soldier nervously explained to Robert as he pointed out a video from one of the camera's that was monitoring the area.
"How did h- No....Immediately send the first squad to contain him." Robert instead of grumbling issued another order.
He then went outside to take a look at the perimeter. He knew that their defensive lines would be pierced through by the monsters as they only had a limited number of gear and bullets. They would eventually deplete their supplies and they would no longer have the capacity to fight the monsters that could fly.
He really felt pissed off. Even the prisoner escaped by who knows how. He then took out his sword.
"Hey......I'm leaving for a bit, watch the prisoner for me will ya?" Before the soldiers could say no, he had already vanished.
He ran all the way towards the sea of monsters. He then made a slash here, a slash there. He then shifted his focus towards another wave of monsters coming from the west side.
He made a dash for it and massacred a ton of monsters before switching towards the northern side as their lines are about to be broken. Every strike he made had killed of a monster. If the monster was of a rank higher then ten then he would take at most two. Regardless of any monster he continued to kill them until he became drenched in their blood.
The soldiers who were fighting appreciated his efforts, every one of them worked harder after seeing their commander dirtying his own hands to help them. They were touched as some of them thought that they would just be left here to die. They once again swore allegiance to this great person.
Robert on the other hand was slowly feeling tired. So, when he noticed that the monsters were beginning to attack less he made his return to rest.
Just as he had sat down to watch the current progress, he felt a terrifying killing intent. It was so strong that it stunned him as it really scared him out of his wits. Being the trained and experienced soldier that he is, he then looked at his back as soon as he could.
