"Everyone! We're almost there. Just a little bit more, we can do this." A girl who was trying her best to lift everyone's spirits could be seen leading a group of people towards one of the underground shelters designated to them.

In the group, she was the only one talking. All of them knew that they would be found out by the monster sooner or later. They could still remember hearing those voices crying for help. The teachers who had gone to distract the monster had already been killed. They all knew this because if they weren't then there should still be sounds of fighting. But all of these had simply stopped after a howl that only that scary monster could have done.

Fortunately, that monster's presence seemed to have scared away all the weaker ones. They haven't been able to encounter another monster along the way. Otherwise, they could've possibly been wiped out already because the teachers who were tasked to defend them had already died.

After cautiously making haste all the way towards the shelter, they could finally see the entrance. It was heavily guarded with more than five hundred troops stationed around it is making a perimeter.

"I can now see it!" "We're going to make it!" "We're going to be saved!" "I'm not going to die!" "The empire had blessed us!" Countless people rejoiced as they could finally see some hope of surviving. They all had elated faces.

A man who looked like he was in his thirties then made a dash towards the shelter as he could no longer wait to feel the comfort of being secured. But right after taking a meter away from the rest of the group, the monster had caught up to them and had leaped up above their entire group landing on before the man who had been excitedly running towards the shelter.

He gulped as he slowly tried to step back. His back had long been drenched. His throat had suddenly felt parched. His hands were very sweaty. His own knees were shaking and were on the verge of turning limp. All he could think about right now was to run away from this monster.

Without letting the man take another step the monster ate his whole body.

Everyone was speechless. They were just on the verge of being saved yet this happened. They felt as if their feelings were being toyed with. Some of them began to vomit as they could not take on the current situation. It was just like a roller coaster ride, after slowly building up, it all just falls so fast. They all felt dread. They all froze on the spot. None of them could do anything as they knew that they were not even a match with this monster.

Hannah, on the other hand, felt immense danger. She knew that the monster in front of her could simply take her out. Strangely her hand was clutching a sword. It was a rapier that was given to her when she had selected the melee class.

Before she chose her weapon one classmate had asked her why she would choose that kind of sword when there are others which looked a lot easier to use. She replied, "I don't know but when I held this weapon it kinds of put me at ease." She herself didn't even understand the reason why.

Currently, she sort of knew why she chose the weapon. "I see...." She whispered into the air. She no longer felt afraid, she made a smile that looked a bit crazed. If she were to look at herself in the mirror she might get a bit scared but right now that's not important.

The enemy is right in front of her. all she needs to do is just to head straight forward. It was just as simple as that.

She then made a pose that felt familiar. "En Garde!" She didn't know why she said that she didn't even know what that means. The word just popped out from her head.

As she said that, it was like a magic word as she felt all her fears melt as her strength gathered onto her right hand. She looked fiercely at the monster in front of her.

The monster suddenly noticed a change in one of those puny humans. That puny human immediately changed into dangerous human within a second. It knew that the dangerous woman could take his life away. The monster immediately braced itself because it knew that the dangerous human would attack soon.

Captain Alect! a rank 8 monster was spotted near us!" A man hurriedly reported this to his captain as only she could possibly deal with one.

"Where is it?" Alect surprised to hear that a monster would dare show itself near her.

"It's over there." The man then pointed at the east towards the distance. Within five seconds, Alect had already crossed the distance as she ran as fast as she possibly could.

Just as she had arrived there she had seen a very strange scene. A human and a monster staring at each other fiercely. She wanted to immediately kill the monster but the woman who was in a staring contest with the monster also seemed to be capable of inflicting a huge injury towards the monster. She felt that her presence was unnecessary.

So instead of helping or going back she just stood there and watched with a very amused look on her face. She knew that the monster was strong, but the woman who looked capable of facing off that monster was too young. She wanted to know how strong that young woman could possibly be.

And just as she had least expected it, a silver light brushed past the monster. "Interesting!" She looked at the young lady obviously with an amazed look on her face.

The monster on the other hand clearly didn't expect that kind of power to burst forth from that dangerous human. He thought he had prepared enough but it looks like he had still underestimated the prowess of this human. He was gravely injured as his whole left side felt numb, so he fell.

*Thud*

Seeing the huge monster fell down the people cheered for Hannah only to see her falling as blood trickled from her eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. She had overused her body. She Could simply not handle that much power on her own.

Within a second, however, the monster had already recovered and prepared to take revenge on Hannah.
