20 Attack
Inside the training camp that Hannah was in had suddenly given out an emergency meeting. They had received word about the large-scale invasion of the monsters who were attacking the whole Western Continent. The teachers were summoned to give out support.
Although the teacher's strength was a cut above regular soldiers, they were still short-handed. In the end, they had to evacuate the citizens including their students to safety.
The teachers who have been instructed to lead the evacuation had divided themselves into thirty-four groups. In the twenty-first group was Hannah's group which had been caught in quite a predicament. The reason being, a monster group had appeared before them.
The monster group itself was weak and the teachers had dealt with the monsters efficiently. The only problem was that after the monster group was wiped out a very strong monster had appeared. It had large horns that could possibly skewer a whole person.
"Wh-What is a rank 8 monster doing all the way here?!" One of the teachers who had been in charge of the group gasped.
"No-No way...Am I going to die here?" A shaky voice of one of the students could be heard. Most of the humans had a pale face. They knew that only a higher rank Knight could possibly fight this monster.
"Everyone! Listen to me. We'll grab the attention of the monster and lure it far away from here. While we do that please head towards the nearby shelter." A charismatic teacher said so as she looked at the others.
Some teachers were still frightened out of their wits but all of them nodded, they knew that it's their duty as knights to help protect the citizens. "Hannah! Since I want you to lead this group to the shelter." The charismatic teacher then whispered to Hannah, "May Brintin's fortune be with you."
After that, the teacher immediately began attacking the quadrupled horned creature to enrage it. As soon as one teacher had used his weapon, *CLANK* a sound that was as if a metal was hit against another metal resounded. The metallic glow on the fur of the creature shined under the moonlight.
"No way!" The man who attacked it shouted as he couldn't believe that even his most powerful strike did not even give it a scratch. Before he made another move the monster quickly made way to chomp that man.
"Look out!" The charismatic female teacher then made a quick dash towards the man as she intended to put him out of harm's way, but sadly she was a step too late. Blood splattered everywhere as the man had his upper body bitten.
The monster howled after having the taste of blood. The giant monster's body then pounced on another teacher who was stunned and couldn't even move. But before the monster got to him, the charismatic female teacher had managed to temporarily restrain the wolf by binding its hind leg rendering it unable to move.
"Everyone, attack now!" She said as she pulled on the chains that had wrapped itself around the monster's leg.
Large series of explosions could be heard as everyone made sure to attack the brutal creature. They used all of the firepower that they could muster as they want to finish the monster if possible. After all, even though they stayed here to protect the majority they were still human. They didn't want to die.
One of the reasons that they became teacher's in the first place was to avoid being on the front lines. In there where monsters could kill them if they were unlucky. People who simply don't have enough power would just die.
Admittedly they are far weaker than the monster in front of them. They also knew that they could possibly not kill it with their own strength simply because its stronger. But even so, they hoped. They wished that the monster would no longer stand and would just die right now.
As their attacks had stopped, the smoke surrounding the wreckage began to clear up. Everyone attentively looking at the monster trying to size it up. They wanted to see it dead.
The monster, crushing their dreams looked as if it grinned. It knew that the puny human in front of him could never beat him. The monster wasn't even taking them seriously. It was just trying to play with the food before eating it.
But seeing that momentary burst of power from those puny humans he was a bit surprised, he had almost been injured. But even if he got injured, he could simply heal it quickly as the injury wasn't even that much.
Those attacks, however, were enough to enrage the monster. It knew that these puny humans might have another lucky moment and that could possibly kill him. Enraged the monster now began to walk towards the humans intending to fight them seriously this time. This spelt the end towards those humans.
The rest of the teachers though had very terrified faces. They knew that the monster could still be alive, but the reason that they were terrified was because the monster had taken zero to no damage. It appeared to be unscathed after taking on all that firepower.
"Everyone, we can do this, we just need to keep on attacking it to keep it distracted. After that, we would be able to run awa-" Before the charismatic lady could finish her encouraging speech her head was suddenly flung away from her body.
All the female teacher could see was her own body simply falling down before everything else became black.
"She died just like that." One of the teachers who had seen that scene had given up all hope of ever returning back alive. But just like everyone, instead of feeling fear they all felt bravery. They had let go of any hope to return back alive. Now having cleared their mind they had made the resolve to be killed.
One of them held a self-destruct bomb. His only plan was to let himself be eaten by the monster before exploding himself right into the monster's mouth. So he charged bravely. "FOR THE EMPIRE!" He shouted as he ran towards the monster.
The monster still enraged didn't even put the human running in his eyes. The monster instead went for the ones who looked easy to kill. Now that the monster decided to attack seriously he wouldn't let go of chances like these.
After a series of blood curling screams silence now enveloped the place. All of the teachers had died without even giving the monster a scratch.
The monster then howled as it sniffed its way towards the direction of the larger group of humans.
