43 Stay a little longer
It has been a week since the full moon. As much as Cedric wanted to take Franchesca all over the world, training her is a priority.
They had started building her physical strength, she started running every morning, followed by vigorous exercises until lunch time. She spent the afternoons learning archery, and academic lessons after dinner.
Jason, her bodyguard, has been her trainer in the morning. He is preparing her to train martial arts and sword skills so he had been strict with her exercises. He isn't the bookish guy she thought at all! Rick had been thoroughly exhausted if not for the sumptous meals Frankie has been feeding her.
Aya, her assistant, may appear as a candygirl but when she touch the bow and arrow she becomes a totally different person as well. Her cute face transforms into a serious one, aiming precisely for her target. Though she was not at strict as her boyfriend, she didn't go easy on her as well.
Thankfully, Aya also gives the best massage after every training. She immediately built rapport with her assistant and most of the days, laughter will fill her walk in closet as they try one outfit after another like sisters.
At night, after their dinner, she and Cedric will be left alone. But it doesn't get any easy. The lessons he give her makes her want to go back to her normal school. Who said it's easy to study witchcraft? Specially since her powers are missing.
"Tired?" He smiled at her indulgently.
"I can't deny that your lessons gives me a migraine, darling." She whined. "Atleast after the exercises and the archery, Frankie feeds me and Aya massages me."
"Come here."
She stand from the carpet where she was squatted on in front of the coffee table where all the books are laid and come to him at the sofa across her. He pulled her to sit on his lap.
Cedric gently coaxed the girl in his arms. She would be his queen forever. But like the game of chess, the queen must have the moves. She can't be fragile by herself. Afterall, if they have allies on the other camp, it is possible that enermies are lurking within them as well.
Rick buried her face in his chest and Cedric kissed the top of her head.
"Would you like to go to bed?" He asked gently.
"Are there more lessons tonight?" She look up at him with those doll eyes. How can he say there's more?
Cedric carried her princess style to her bedroom. While Rick wondered, why in almost two weeks of living here, she had never been to his bedroom. Not even a peek.
Sensing her uneasiness, he look down at her still carried in his arms, his eyes questioning.
"Nothing." She denied.
"Hmmn, you know it's frustrating how you can read me yet I can't read your thoughts?" He put her down on her bed gently.
She blushed. Wouldn't she be misunderstood if she ask about not seeing his bedroom all of a sudden? Wouldn't it come across as she's implying something?
Seeing her blush, the vampyre lord was more curious. However Rick wouldn't say anything! Instead she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Will you put me to sleep?" She blinked her eyes cutely like a puppy.
"Hmmn, sure." He positioned himself beside her cuddling her.
However, Rick mumbled, "Your thoughts are distracting, darling."
Huh?! Crap! I totally forgot she can read my thoughts! This time it was Cedric who blushed from his neck to the root of his hair.
"Where you always able to read other people's thoughts?" He inquired, taking the topic away from his thoughts.
"Hmmmn no, before I can only tell what I think others think. Not hear it." She answered. If she had this ability before, then she might have uncovered the secret about her early on.
Then she had only started hearing thoughts when she woke up in his mansion. What could have triggered it. Was it her passing a portal? Or was it him? But he didn't do anything. Well, not yet. They had only been kissing since.
"Darling you're noisy!" She giggled in his chest. "If you're always like this we will be forever sleepless."
"Ah, then I should sleep first." But she hugged him tighter and didn't want him to go.
"Can't you sleep here?" She is asking a dangerous question. Witch, faerie or not, she knows she is only fifteen. And with his thoughts earlier, she definitely is challenging his self control.
"Sweetheart--"
"I know, I know. Just stay a little longer." She closed her eyes and this time, today's toll had taken up on her and she fell asleep.
"Goodnight, darling." The man kissed her lightly on the lips.
