39 Solitary Confinemen

Kristine has wandered in Karl's place in the next few days. Ofcourse she has not found any exit. And unable to use any magic she is forced to live her days mundanely as a commoner.

Cooking, cleaning the house, reading books, gardening, walking around the forest.

It would have been fine. Just fine.

If only...

If she is unaware that by now, outside chaos awaits. If she wasn't worried of her father and sisters. Have they been taken? But Karl hadn't confronted her, surely she should be the first to receive punishment?

Was Cedric able to pull off his plans? Is Franchesca happy? That girl really is pitiful, to be caged in that realm, living a life of lies. To be deprived of her own identity, even a little girl's simple pleasures.

What would The Order have done after they found out?

Not that she didn't think about it a million times even before the time of the full moon.

Sometimes she would argue with herself, trying to determine if she did it for the Vampyre Lord, or because she long to be with Karl for her love of him. To this she has not yet come to an understanding. Maybe for both?

But what now? He had not come, was he blamed too? Did they put him in prison? To this her heart shuddered in fear.

She would rather have him angry at her, even kill her, just that he would be safe.

It was night, but the moon is not present, only the distant stars glitter in the sky. The wind is cold, alone in the garden she comforted herself with watching the fireflies.

Everything around her is beautiful, save from herself. She had deceived the person she loves most. Even the moon doesn't want to see her.

Faeries are beautiful creatures, and they tend to nature. A lot of them have settled in the deep forests of the East, while the ones who didn't shy away from commoners have helped built beautiful blossoming cities.

How she missed Kyoto [1]. She was born and raised there. Unlike her sister, Emerald fancied the bustling city, opting to live in an apartment with a only a garden.

While she loves the temples, walking around the streets as seasons change.

And though this place is to her liking, she felt suffocated with loneliness. Imprisoned in a beautiful cage. A lone tear escaped her eye and drop to the hand in her lap.

She knows. Either she is imprisoned here alone and forgotten forever, or be killed by the man she loves.

*****

Karl watched her cry, and his heart crushed inside him. Does she miss that wizard she loves? Loves enough to betray him her Master?

He stared at the crystal that shows him the girl in his home. He had watched over her from there, afraid what his anger would do if he goes over there in person.

What is so great about that man that she can sacrifice herself for him? His eyes narrowed in anger and in a flick the crystal crushed into the wall of bricks.

Damn her!

'I'll imprison you forever! You'll never join your lover! Not even in your next life!'

He close his eyes, white wisps of smoke came out from his body as he try to control his emotions back into place.

He took out a chain from his neck, and from it dangles a large diamond. The finest white diamond in a shape of a heart. No commoner has ever seen it, and if they did the Koh-i-noor [2] would shy away from the rock he now holds.

But what's inside is even more precious. As it contains Franchesca's spirit.

After they have found that a goblin had made its way into the deep enchanted chamber where he used to keep her, he took her spirit out and sealed her with magic inside this rock. Ofcourse that goblin was brutally murdered along with his family, in public.

No one can see her now, much more take her away, literally over his dead body.

One he imprisoned in his home, another chained to him. A lover who doesn't love him. A sister that won't obey. His mouth taste bitter. And he laughed like a maniac.

I offered one a love for a lifetime, the other a peaceful life with a man who loves her most. It's not so bad of a deal yet what did they gave him?

His eyes suddenly went all black, the tower he was stepping into shuddered beneath him. The whole island shook and the people in it felt an earthquake they have never felt before. Everyone ran out of their houses in panic, one had noticed the clock tower and pointed at the man on top of it.

Fear consumed their hearts in an instant. They have never witnessed a power of a wizard king in this lifetime. Only the stories from the ancient times have told them how powerful they can be.

And right now a man stood on top of them, engulfed in a white smoke, two powerful white wings slowly stretched behind him. White as it is but it gave them a dark feeling, their hearts pound hard against their chest.

Around them houses and establishments crushed one after another but they could only gape and cry at the man on the clock tower.
