33 Getting Married Now

Faeries are the most beautiful creatures on earth. Some would argue that the vampyres surely are the ones. They maintain their looks forever, never aging. But it would all depend on the age they were turned. One must remember that vampyres were commoners whose been turned and survived.

There was an unspoken rule among these narcissist creatures. And that is to turn only the unparalleled ones. In beauty, brains and talent. Afterall, immortality is both a blessing and a curse. One would need the ability to outlast time.

Faeries on the other hand are born. They come in all races, and are all beautiful. They can be found on the runways, on TVs, name it. Don't be surprised if the models on the Victoria's Secret fashion show are majorly faeries choosing to live as a commoner.

As they are mortals. They age, they die. Like a commoner, just with powers. They can grant anything a heart wished for like a genie, except for two things: to bring a dead person back to life, and to make someone fall in love with another.

The Montefalco bloodline carries the authority over the faeries since the beginning, being the only white winged faeries, they have the greatest power. Others like Kristine's family have golden ones, and then there are the pixies.

Cedric has described it all to Rick in detail. Even the families' fancy on taking mistresses until they marry.

"So Karl has one?" She inquired.

"Yes. There are three siblings in line at present for him. He has sent the eldest one at home and is currently with the second."

"Siblings?!" She exclaimed. But that is so wrong! How could someone bed siblings let alone three of them?!

Clearly reading her thoughts, he said "You'd have to ask your family why they line up the girls like that."

"But I don't want to go back." She pouted. She is repulsed of it but if she seek Karl for answers she will just get herself in trouble.

Then, she thought suddenly of an important thing.

"Where are my wings?"

"You remember me telling you earlier about that part of yourself sealed away?" She nodded. "That part of you is your spirit. It has your powers, heart and soul."

"So I am a currently human." It's a statement.

Cedric's face dimmed. As much as he don't want to admit, yes she is merely a human body now. Fragile and delicate. She even passed out the whole day just by coming through a portal.

"We'll get it back. What's important is that they can't marry you to that wolf now."

"Won't they use the other me for that?"

"If they can do that, they won't need the current you. You still need to accept it just as you are now." He said carefully, he was not entirely sure. But he can't get near her spirit yet. And he needs to face the dilemna at hand first and that is her impending betrothal.

They wouldn't separate her spirit from her if they can control both. So most probably they wanted to tie her physical body to Marco first by means of a wizard's marriage so she can't break free.

He really wanted to marry her as well. But she might have other plans. She is so young still, and he knows she wants to travel around.

She is only fifteen for God's sake! And shouldn't even be thinking of marriage.

But if he will be allowed to be a little selfish, he wants to tie their hearts forever so she can never be someone else's.

Rick's thoughts aren't far from his. She's human. She can die anytime. Or her family can take her away the moment they found her. If they are as powerful as Cedric had told her, it's not impossible for them to trace her.

Her eyes lit up brightly and upon noticing it, Cedric look at her questioningly.

What might she be thinking that her eyes are shining mischievously?

"Darling--" she started.

"Hmmn?" He gruntled.

"They want to marry me to Marco because they want to control my powers is that right?"

He nodded.

"Is my spirit really that great?"

"According to the prophecy, yours is unparalled compare to all of them combined. Since you have lived up to this day it can be true." As they can't find a way to destroy her and only think of ways to contain her.

"And marriage to Marco will tie up our powers enabling him to use mine? And I can't harm him as well if that happens, right?" Cedric nodded though he doesn't like that idea at all.

"Then why aren't we getting married now?"

Cedric gaped at her.

"Hey, why the look? You proposed to me earlier didn't you?" Her eyes squinted. Is he backing out? Or since it was only in his thoughts that the proposal doesn't count?

"Are you sure?" His voice lace with uncertainty.

"Aren't you?" She retorted, getting embarassed now.
