29 Dream proposal
She must have passed out while passing the portal. It can't be helped. It's her first time. And as she is totally unaware of her powers, plus her spirit is taken away, she is similar to a commoner who's been exposed to magic all of a sudden.
Cedric watched the girl in the pink bed he had handpicked just for her. She hasn't experienced girly things, except for a luxurious bathroom. So in this house, he made sure she will get it all. Like the room he filled with all beautiful dolls he can find, her own library with musical instruments and art materials that took up a whole floor, her bedroom, bath and closet alone is already a fortune each.
Her personal assistant and bodyguard are vampyres, as they have no scent and cannot be traced. And whose minds can be read by Cedric.
Normal vampyres are such as the old tales tell. They suck blood, they read minds, and they can't walk in the daylight. The first two descriptions still stands, however, those that have pledged with Cedric can walk under the sun. And they don't shine like diamonds while in it either. Also, they have reflection in the mirror.
They can pass as a commoner anytime.
Why they follow Cedric is really simple. He is the heir to the bloodline of the most powerful wizard thus acquiring all of his powers, and son of the first of the vampyres as well.
Yes, his father is the oldest of the clan, who had slept for a thousand years turning into a complete marble statue in time. How he came back to the world of the living is still a mystery, even to the vampyre butler by Cedric's side. Nevertheless, he fathered him thus acquiring the best of both sides. One proof is that he can turn a normal vampyre in a daylight-walking-vampyre-like-a-commoner with a pledge that they will turn to ashes if they betray him even without him knowing.
"Master." The lady vampyre who goes by the name Aya came into the room and called him.
"Speak." Though no words had been spoken at all. It was all in the assistant's mind as Cedric can probe into her thoughts.
"They had started the search for her as soon as the breaking of dawn as we had predicted. Every individual in the island has been detained under interrogation and every movement in all realms monitored." Aya reported.
"How about Kristine?"
"Safe at the moment. The Young Montefalco is guarding Miss Franchesca's spirit. At this point it seems he had not suspected her yet. Though, they are backtracking the events that had happened within the island for the past days."
"Have you found her location yet?"
"She is unreachable. She must be in another realm designed by the Young Montefalco similar to the island. We can predict that she is alone and unable to leave that place thus we have no news of her." Aya regretted to inform Cedric.
"Follow him closely, see if we can find a loop to save her if needed."
"Yes, Master." As she saw that he no longer need her, she retreated from the room silently.
Cedric stared at Franchesca again, and looked at his watch. She has slept for almost a day. He gently touched her forehead to check if she might be running a fever but she seems normal.
He had seen her too many times in dreams, he had memorized her face a long time ago, yet her beautiful innocent face leave him in a daze all the time.
'My angel. This dark knight does not deserve you at all. Yet even before you came, you have already chosen me.
'I can only fight to protect you until you have regained what is yours, and serve you until you have no need of me.
'24 years is a short time. Yet I have spent 15 years of loving you and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.
'Will you accept me?'
These thoughts ran through his head as he held her hand, he was looking at their intertwined fingers, imagining him putting a ring on her finger, planning where she would have loved to be proposed at.
He was busy running city names in his head, crossing each one that was way too common, or not too original, even the season and the timing, that he didn't notice Rick's eyes slowly open.
"I do." Her voice hoarse from sleeping so long.
Cedric had to blink several times to confirm she is awake, then slightly tilt his head as confusion passed his eyes with her comment. Before he realized she can read his mind!
"Did you--"
"Yeah, I heard you." She looked at him lovingly, staring into his iced blue eyes, adoring those dark locks that fell on his forehead. She smiled at him.
"Darling, you're so cute." She chuckled at his disbelieving expression just now.
