20 Cedric The night before

After pressing send, Cedric closed his laptop. It had been a tiring month. It's done. All the careful preparations he have for tomorrow night.

The timing is right.

Marco would turn on the full moon.

Karl will be too engrossed to Kristine.

And Franchesca will be his.

How he waited for this day. Fifteen years. The fervor he is feeling made his eyes glow red like flaming rubies in the night, too far in contrast to its normal color of ice blue.

Fifteen years ago.

It was a stormy night. He lived alone in a small villa by the beach. It was almost a very ordinary day for him, except the butler has left that night.

Like his predecessors, they all lived alone. Unlike other wizarding family, who have families, he had none.

In the ancient times, his ancestor, a gentle powerful wizard has fallen in love with a human. Contrary to what others believe of that woman being a muse, she was a commoner with an exceptional beauty. They loved each other so much that the old wizard has created a realm just to protect her.

But fate has it that they'd be attacked and destroyed. The woman was pregnant unbeknowst to all others. The wizard then transferred all of his powers to the girl just to protect her. He gave up his life to make her flee.

On the aftermath of the destruction, the girl was devastated of losing her lover that she has cursed the other families. Thus the start of the prophecy, of a girl being born from one of the families. Of a girl whose life they cannot eliminate. Whose love they cannot extinguish. Whose existence will mean of their fall.

There was only one thing that the common girl has not expected after all this. It is her death right after she gave birth. Since the wizard's power is transferred to the newborn, a power so strong that it eats the life of the mother. Hence Cedric's family line is singular. But all his ancestors had been common women, giving birth and dying after. Unexplainably, all the men who loved this women and fathered their children, join them in eternal life.

As if his family is destined to only love one woman and should perish if she does. It did not change even at the time when one of his ancestors had fallen in love with a vampyre, who was supposedly an immortal. The birth of their daughter is like a raging sun, her vampyre father burned until he turned to ashes.

When Cedric's mother was pregnant with him, she found out that she's carrying a little boy. Thus she prepared all information for him to have as he grew up. All the diaries of the women before her, of mysteries surrounding them, of why they have to hide among commoners. Never using magic or atleast leave a trace.

Even appearing as commoners, they cannot live in splendor, least they attract attention to their existence. All this while, The Order is not aware, that the 1st common girl who cursed them, had a bloodline. That the magic they possess is passed unto common women, bound to her own bitter fate, until a boy is born signifying the coming of the girl in the prophecy.

All throughout, one single vampyre posing as their butler, had taken care of this bloodline since the 1st day. The vampyres had indeed taken the deepest corners of the earth when the Kings had come to devour the world, except this butler.

He watched as his best friend fell in love with the gentle king. He was there when they were attacked. When the king sacrificed his life for his beloved, this butler took care of his best friend until she gave birth and died. This vampyre who swore an oath to take care of her bloodline.

Until now, that Cedric has been walking on earth for 24 years, this vampyre has remained to his side.

On that stormy night, fifteen years ago, he felt his Beloved had come to the world.
