30 Bai's challenge

"Dan, have you finished the business with Feng?" Long cheekily said as he saw Dan's bright face. Previously, he was a bit worried that Dan might have made a negative impression on Feng, but after seeing Dan's cheerful face, he wasn't troubled.

"Long, you didn't tell me that her brother looked like me," Dan furiously said after remembered Feng calling him a brother. If Long told him about that, he might not have been stuck in such an awkward situation.

"I wanted to surprise you a little, " Long face was covered with guilt, however, after a brief moment, his facial expression changed as he recalled something, " Brother Dan, do you remember that Bai person you fought in the city lord mansion?"

"Yeah, what about him?"

"He has rechallenged you. It seems as though his strength has increased since your previous encounter. His confidence seemed to have soared to the heavens after some lucky breakthrough," Long worriedly said as he stared blankly at Dan's unfathomable eyes.

Dan was momentarily stunned, " That guy broke through to hammering stage!"

Suddenly, he was frightened upon remembering Bai's face. For a person to be not affected by any setbacks meant that they would have an unpredictable future. Moreover, Bai was with his enemies, meaning that Bai would become a significant obstacle for him in the future, and someone who would nearly be impossible for Dan to overcome.

" I am not sure about whether he did or not, but he openly declared the challenged with great confidence. Furthermore, it seems that the injuries you inflicted upon him seemed to have been healed."

Dan frowned as he suddenly felt like the pressure upon him increasing. However, even though that was the case, he didn't regret what he had done.

Pressure like these was the best way he could increase his strength. They were a motivation for him. If he couldn't overcome them, death would be a certainty, while if he could, his strength would increasing several folds.

"Maybe I will fight him again," Dan felt excited upon thinking of battling again. HIs devil blood made it worse - it made him unable to see anything apart from a red.

"Boy! Don't even think of challenging that kid without getting the Earth petals. You have no chance of defeating him without fully becoming an immortal," Devil king fumed as he saw Dan hyped. In his opinion, if one couldn't defend his own life, what would be the point of accepting a challenge.

From his vast experience, he predicted that Dan would lose the fight in a breath time. The disparity between the body mending cultivator and body hammering practitioner couldn't be described with mere words.

A single body hammering cultivator could take on a couple of body mending cultivator with only his mortal body. Moreover, they had a unique power; the one body mending cultivators didn't have. All body mending cultivator could use nature's power. Nature power included fire, water, wood, earth, and even thunder.

While people with special power could use space, time, Ying, and Yang power, however, it was easier to find phoenix feather than finding people with those sort of distinctive strengths. Until now, even the devil king had only seen two people with those type of body, while including Yue.

"You don't think I have a chance to defeat him as I am now?" Dan murmured under his breath as he lost some confidence. He was a genius, a genius who was above the likes of Bai. He had strong trump cards which could even keep him safe against the mind transforming practitioners, so he wanted to fight Bai no matter what.

"Brother Dan, I personally think you shouldn't accept this challenge. I heard that the City lord is currently searching for you. It seems that he is frustrated after you destroyed his precious manor."

"He will certainly end your life if he were to spot you anytime soon," Long shuddered while briefly thinking of the city lord. His own father couldn't stand up to him, so what could Long, a mortal, possibly do.

Dan sighed as he heard Long. He realized he had been a bit too immature. He felt simple-minded for thinking that he could defeat Bai and go on his path

"I guess I have to search for the Earth petal no matter what," Dan said, but after glancing at pale Yue who was sleeping at the bed located at the corner of the room, he felt like he was being too selfish, " But, how do I keep her safe though?"

Long lowered his head down after hearing Dan in misery. He couldn't possibly help Dan. After all, even his clan wouldn't want to mess with city lord.

However, an idea seemed to pop out of his muscular brain as he lifted his head and said," Why don't you take her to the thunderstrike village?"

"But why?" Dan was confused. What was the point of taking Yue to thunder strike village? Maybe, he could ask her!

"You don't mean?"

"Yeah, you should ask help from Feng. She is the only one that can help you right now," Long saw right with the dark tunnel. He knew that Feng was the only one that could possibly help Dan.

Moreover, Dan resembled her brother a lot, so he might be able to get some support.

"Only immortals are possibly able to go the thunderstrike village. You are an immortal, so you don't have to worry about not being able to enter."

"The only thing you need to be concerned about would be not to get lost in the way."

After Dan was done talking with Long, he took out the blood replenishing pill from his sac. He looked at for a while and felt the soft texture from its surface. He could smell the pleasant aroma as he put it to close it to his nose. He gulped while looking at it.

He knew that if he were to swallow this pill right away, his strength would double right away.

"Boy! Are you out of your mind?" Devil king said as he sensed Dan's desire.

"Slap!"

Dan slapped himself and snaped himself into reality. He looked at Yue and slowly a small smile formed as he charged forward.

He moved closer and crumbled the pill into bits. As soon as he got closer to her, he inserted the dusted pieces of pill directly on to her mouth and moved it through to the tongue. He used some spirit energy and pushed it towards the core of her body. Nearly where her dantain was located.

"I am okay!" Dan said as he drank gulped down the water from a big jar.

Dan and Long waited a couple of minutes before seeing Yue's pale face glitter with light. It seemed as though the medicine had worked swiftly.

"Bro..." Yue's shattered consciousness seemed to have gathered together after the medicine took effect. She slowly opened her eyes and glanced questionably at Dan.

"...ther Dan," Yue couldn't remember what happened, but after seeing Dan's gentle face, she smiled brightly.

"Brother Dan. Are you really brother Dan?" Yue said as she regained some of her memory. Fearing that it was all but a dream, she stretched out her hands in an attempt to grab hold of Dan.

"Yue, it's me."

Yue couldn't believe it, so Dan went and forward and grasp hold of her arm tightly as tears started to roll down the floor.
