19 Surprises in Elemental city

"..." The guard stood there with a frightened expression. His legs turned soft and they began to wiggle as his heart raced at a tremendous speed.

His gaze landed upon Dan once more, although this time, there was no disdain hidden in his dry eyes. Dan's body was releasing a blood thirst intent which was natural as he was a part devil.

The guard's eyes were wide open and he felt was negative emotion coursing through his body.

If one were to gaze at his eyes directly, they would see his inner emotion which was as clear as the daylight.

Fear. It was as though he felt nothing more than that. His eyes made one think that he had been through a nightmare.

"Y..es" The guard seemed to be choking on his own spit. He was breathing harder than a dying person and was clearly more scared than a pig who was ready to get slaughtered.

"Job well done" The devil king's voice rang inside Dan's brain as he was making his way through the gates.

The devil king didn't know the full story, so it believed that Dan had acted in an insane manner to scare off the guard. It was unknown to him that that Dan was currently in his current state due to this very city.

If it wasn't for his desire to explore around this city so much, he wouldn't have suffered at all.

Slowly but steadily, he walked from the shaded area and into the plaza, where many people were gathered.

"Whoaa, " Dan slowly lifted his eyebrows as he saw the stunning sight before him. There were antique carriages, rich people, and magnificent houses. Just from the view outside, Dan felt like he was in a completely different world. The world seemed to have been isolated from the entire world in a good way.

"Why are you acting so dumb? This back pond of the world is clearly not that impressive. It's one of the most unimpressive city I have seen in my life," The devil king said in a bossy manner, making Dan feel like a country bumpkin.

It wasn't that he was surprised by the land, rather he was surprised by the number of people.

"What's your name?" Dan asked this time in order to not give the man a heart attack.

"It's Dong Long. My mother gave me this proud name." The bulk man said with a bit of confidence.

"Oh, Dong Long. Can you tell me why there are so many people gathering here?" Dan said something that was bothering him since he came here.

"Oh, you don't know!" The bulk man exclaimed with a tone of surprise.

"Tell me quick, " Dan said with annoyance as he looked at the crowded place.

"The City Lord has decided to go on retirement and is about to declare who the next city lord is going to be, so the entire city is waiting for that moment to occur," Long said with a clear voice so that Dan could hear him perfectly.

"City lord" Dan clenched his teeth upon hearing that name. The City lord was one evil beast. From what he heard from Yue and Yime, he almost sounded like an incarnation of the evil spirit itself.

"So tell me, when did he come and kidnapped the girl?" Dan said with concern.

"Yesterday, " Long trembled as he replied; he was clearly overtaken by fear.

"How do you know about this?" Dan though rationally and asked the question to confirm the information so he wouldn't fall into any trap.

"I am from the Dong clan, one of the 4 great clans of the city. Although I am just a useless son of my immortal father, I do have some influence around the city." Long said as he tried to control his emotion. He wasn't able to calm himself no matter what he did. It was ironic as he was like a little boy before an adult although their frame size was opposite to what was portrayed to the public.

"Boy, what's wrong with you. It's just a stranger, why are you worried about it?" The devil king inside Dan's body was a bit confused, so it tried to understand why Dan was doing was doing some digging of information.

"Sigh, you don't have to concern yourself with this. It's just some of my personal matter, " Dan said with an emotionless voice inside his brain.

"..." The devil king stayed silent after seeing Dan annoyed.

"So, where's the city lord castle?" Dan went straight to the point, without trying to hide his emotion. He was angry and could take any action at any moment.

As he did, a bit of his immortal energy seeped out from his body.
