18 Exploration!
"More powerful!" Dan sucked in a cold air as soon as he heard he was going to be more powerful than ever.
"However, there are few risks involved. Although your body is way stronger than any mortal and even some tough immortal, it's not at its optimized level. Currently, your body is in a bad condition and rare medicines are the only variable that can fix it." The devil king was feeling generous, so it spilled out the problems and the cure.
"What's the name of those treasures, " Dan was very impatient as seen by his expression. It was understandable, after all, he experienced both joy and sadness at the same time.
He was happy to know that his mother was safe, while sad after knowing that she could potentially die at any moment.
"Sky petals!"
The devil king answered after wrecking his brain. He went silent for a period of time, before speaking again.
"Also, Earth petal! And, Water petals!" The Devil king seemed to have done what people would say searching his brain. He sounded a bit exhausted after performing it.
"I heard of those from the alchemy encyclopedia. It said that it can only be found in a land where there are a lot of those elements vigorously clashing with death energy." Dan could see hope before his eyes as he too searched his memories.
" You are only half correct. For the earth petal, you need that exact condition, while for air petal and sky petal, it cannot be found in the same location as earth petal. However, you don't have to worry too much as they are quite common in the spirit world, " The devil king seemed to know a lot about the medicine and plants than any person Dan met. This also included Dan's mother.
Although Dan couldn't be completely sure as he never saw his mother's full abilities, he could tell that Devil king was an expert in terms of medicine.
"So, should we look for a village nearby?" Dan said while looking around. He wasn't exactly sure where he was, so he suggested that they should find a village before planning on going anywhere dangerous.
"Ok. Sounds like a good idea, " Devil king was impressed that Dan was using his thinking abilities. After all, ever since he met this boy, he barely relied on himself and was dependent on people around him.
...
"Where is this?" Dan looked ahead of himself to find a huge statue carrying a massive mountain. The statue was quite enormous- double the size of the flood dragon he met the other day. The mountain was also quite big, nearly as big as the statue itself.
"Don't go in there!" The Devil king exclaimed with a solemn voice. His voice told Dan to not take another step.
Dan stopped his footsteps as soon as he heard the Devil King.
He was surprised that he followed what Devil king said. He realised that he didn't have any enmity with Devil king although he nearly died because of him. It might have been due to his mother's decision or the Devils king's honest heart. This also worried him a lot as he felt like he could get tricked in the near future if he wasn't careful.
"Don't take another step!" Dan could hear the concerned voice of Devil king which snapped him back to reality. He quickly got into position as to prepare for any dangerous situation.
He stepped back a little before gazing at the statue to identify more details.
" Boy, the place you were about to head to was possibly the most dangerous place in this entire region. Even I would die if I were to enter it in my peak form." The devil king spoke softly as it could.
"What? Why did you lead me here than?" Dan was sweating from his palms as soon as he heard the devil king's explanation.
"I led you here? Boy, if I tell you to go south you go west, while if I tell you to go right, you go left. So, tell me how is it my fault that you literally don't understand direction." the Devil King angrily shouted inside Dan's head.
"I see...I am quite foolish" Dan's cheeks turned bright red. He was deeply embarrassed to go against Devil king as he knew he was in wrong.
"Anyway, The person inside that mountain is someone that was loathed by the entire human race. He was said to be a human genius who was in pair with the founder of the noble clan, but due to his temper, he attacked the human race and caused a massive loss to the human race." The devil king frowned while recalling his memories. The person inside the mountain was clearly not on the list of the good people in his books.
"Rustle" The mountain started to shake as Dan kept starting at it, seemingly warning Dan to not approach it.
"Quickly leave!" Devil king was slightly annoyed that Dan was standing stiff, and wasn't taking any action.
"Swish"
Dan ran as quick as he could towards the opposite direction of the mountain. He was slightly clumsy as he didn't have any special powers anymore. Although he was a bit clumsy, he was quite fast. He was as fast or even faster than a leopard.
...
"Finally, we are in a safe zone." Dan was finally relieved after escaping hell. He was filled with mixed emotion- both negative and positive. He felt lucky and unlucky at the same time. He was also bothered and annoyed as he couldn't fly any longer.
"Alright now, go left. I can sense human emotion over there." The devil king replied with a sense of anticipation. He was quite happy he wouldn't be the only one that would be stuck with Dan.
Dan turned left and walked straight, surprising the devil king. However, he soon turned right without realising
"Go left again, " the Devil King didn't get furious, instead patiently suggested what direction to take.
"°=°" Dan tried to keep on following the path the Devil king told him to, which made him feel like a puppet.
It continued on for days or so until he saw an outline of houses which were peeking from the shades of the mountain.
"Quick go. You might go weak if you don't eat anything." The devil king reminded Dan about being nutritious.
After walking for several minutes, he saw several black rods attached to the gates and the brick wall. They seemed to be protecting whatever was inside.
"Stop!"
As Dan was scanning the gate with curiosity, a loud sound echoed through the air, which in turns shook his ear.
"Who are you? Give me your identity card or f*ck off." The guy, who was possibly the guard looked at Dan with slight disdain. Dan's clothes were covered in holes and his face was full of scratches, so the guard thought that Dan was a beggar from the wild. He didn't feel ounce of sympathy for Dan's condition, instead quite content that he, as a guard was living a better life.
"I don't have an identity card, " Dan replied honestly.
"Than, you can't enter the city." The guard replied, leaving Dan speechless.
"This is the Elemental city," Dan roared as anger rose to his head.
