8 Are you impressed?

"No. I can't"

As soon as Yue finished her sentence, Dan harshly denied her.

"But, why?" The girl questioned.

"I am not a good teacher," Dan explained himself to the girl.

"I don't care. I wanna fly like a brother does." the girl wasn't backing down.

She had reason for her action. She believed she was reasonable. After all, she was a disciplined child and Dan was a nice person; they would have a great master and disciple relationship.

He could teach her to fly like an "angle" and she would teach him direction.

It would be great.

"Ask your parents, then!" Dan replied helplessly. He couldn't handle her so he shifted the problem to her parents.

"Mom, Dad" The girl looked at her parents with gleaming eyes. She wanted to hear their response as it would decide whether she had an exciting future or not.

"Erm...Yue, you shouldn't bother Senior Dan. He probably has a good reason for his action." Yue's mother seriously spoke, trying to discourage her daughter. Dan wasn't someone they knew well. They only met him recently, so she conflicted to leave her daughter at his hands.

However, she wasn't completely against Yue being Dan's disciple. After all, who wouldn't want to be an immortal?

"Yue, your mother is right."

Yime doted on his daughter, but he didn't spoil her too much. He was careful as to not dispirit her completely. Along with that, he was also trying to protect her at the same time.

"I wanna be an angle like brother." However, the girl didn't back down even after hearing no from her father.

"Yue, How about this. After you are strong and mature enough to decide things on your own, I will take you as a disciple. And, that's only if you are willing." Dan felt bad for disheartening her, so he gave her a motivation and an excuse for himself to delay the situation.

He wasn't bothered enough to think about the future. In fact, he himself didn't know what he would do in the near future.

But one thing was for sure, he would explore the whole spirit realm one day.

"But..." The girl started to wine. She wasn't happy with Dan's response.

Nevertheless, she didn't argue anymore. She looked at him with resolute eyes and said, "You better keep the promise, brother"

After that, she turned silent. Her father brought her to her room soon after.

"She is asleep."

After what felt like an hour, Dan finally relaxed. He was sweating all over. This was the very first time he rejected someone like that.

Usually, he was calm and collective.

It wasn't as though he wanted to dishearten her. He was a devil and he only had devil technique at his disposal.

If he were to let her practice devil technique, she would soon die due to backlash.

As a human, it was impossible for her to train the devil technique.

Yime glanced at Dan and looked at him with mixed emotions. His facial muscle seemed a bit tight and he was sighing constantly. His action suggested that he was upset.

"Brother Yime. Is everything alright?" Dan was a bit annoyed as he couldn't read a persons' feeling from their expression. He was a bit immature when it came to understanding a person who he recently met.

"Brother Dan. It's just that, my daughter is planning on taking that sword immortal as her teacher." Yime spoke out honestly once he heard Dan's annoyed voice.

"And what's wrong with that!" Dan was confused once he heard Yime. He seemed to be concerned instead of being enthusiastic.

If it was in devil world, a devil in Yime's situation would be delighted to hand his child to an overlord. After all, they would be safer. Not only that, they would have a good future ahead of them.

"Brother Dan. You don't understand the mortals' feeling." Dan replied emotionally.

Dan sighed. Of course, he couldn't. After all, he was a part devil. What devil would be able to understand human and especially the mortal humans?

"Don't worry about small stuff, you should be celebrating and enjoying the time with your daughter."

Dan didn't know how to console Yime, so he used the word 'opportunity' as a way to make him happy.

It indeed had an effect on Yime. His face shortened by quite a bit and he wasn't unhappy anymore. Although that was the case, his eyes were leaking tears.

"Maybe you are right." Time wiped his tears. He was a sturdy man, but when it came to family matter, he had a soft spot in his heart.

...

"Brother Dan, look at this."

A sweet sound echoed across Yime's house as the little girl excitedly made her way towards Dan.

She had a tiny, flurry figure in her tiny hands. The small adorable had a tearful expression, making one want to pet it. The small figure seemed to be struggling to break free from.

"What's this?"

Dan had a closer look at the little guy. His eyes were filled with curiosity and amazement from seeing a new thing.

"It's...a cat. I found it in the backyard, Have you played with one before?" The girl looked at Dan with a weird expression. How come this 'brother' of hers' never heard of a cat?

"Well, we immortals don't play with cats." Dan put a prideful expression on his face to fool her. He didn't want his reputation of a strong and sturdy bother go to waste.

"Wow! You are so cool, brother."

The little girl glanced at Dan with a look of amazement.

It had been nineteen days since she last asked him to be her master. After being rejected ruthlessly, she didn't hold a grudge but instead became even more attached to him.

Although she had many friends, she spent most of her time with Dan. She dearly loved him.

It wasn't only her. Her father and mother also thought of Dan as a family member. In spite of being an 'immortal', he was quite clumsy and clueless. These characteristics of his made him adorable and quite popular within the village.

While they were talking about the cat, the main character, the cat, was making a weird expression. All of a sudden, it looked up and a playful expression started to appear on its face

"Meowwww..."

The cat suddenly screened and started to deform. Its facial feature started to change, turning from cute to detestable. It changed from an adorable cat to an old man.

"Finally, it's been twenty days. I will make sure to impress her."

The cat was not there anymore. It was replaced by an old figure. The old figure was similar to the sword immortal. The only difference between them was the age difference; the one before Dan had more wrinkles.

"Swish"

Before the sword immortal could do anything, he was struck on the head by Dan.

"Boom"

The old guy crashed into one of the trees which surrounded the house in four directions.

He smashed ten of them before he was stopped by the eleventh one.

"What just happened? was that a demon!"

The girl was a bit intimidated. It was the first time in her life that she saw such a transformation. She thought it was some demon trying to attack her.

She didn't know that the old immortal was trying to recreate his image by impressing her.

"Ah, why are you here?"

Dan was there with an incredible expression. He wasn't terrified but rather impressed. He found it amazing. A man transforming into a cat was a fascinating sight to him.

"Hmm...I was just passing by."

The old guy was slightly scared once he looked at Dan. He knew that Dan was stronger than even himself, so he was a bit cautious.

"Brother..."

The girl wasn't scared after seeing the sword immortal face. His nose was red and his face was full of bruises, making him similar to a clown. Seeing the sight in front of her, Yue was secretly laughing.

"Sorry...Hmm...Yue, I was just practising my secret technique. By the way, are you impressed, " The old fellow had thick skin, so he was trying to change the subject?

"Mmm"

The girl slightly nodded her head with a smile. After all, it was quite interesting seeing a cat turning into a clown.

After seeing her nod, without knowing her actual reason, he cheekily said, "Are you willing to be my disciple? I might teach you that immortal technique. You can even turn into an angel."
