106 Chapter 100
Wang remained still as he stood within the darkness. His gaze moving slowly across the shadows before him, barely able to see within the low gleaming light floating around. Keeping his breathing steady, he slowly shifted. His step was soft, and barely made a sound, however there was still a low groan coming from the left of Wang's ear. Pausing, Wang moved his head to stare into the darkness, not seeing the thing that had sounded next to him. The feeling of something peering at him caused goosebumps to from. The feeling making his heart race as he struggled to slow it down. "What is it you want?" He asked after a while, unable to stand the silence around him.
He had no idea what had happened to Ai or Mao, nor did could he sense anything other than the strange pair of eyes that he couldn't see. After he spoke, the soft glowing orbs began to stir, rushing around the room as they grew brighter. Before long, they merged together, taking the silhouette of what appeared to be a female standing before him. "Child, Don't fret. There is no harm here." the voice called out, soft and calming. The gaze that he'd felt before faded, as if it had only been part of his mind. "You're fears are the only thing that can harm you here." she then stated, her body floating closer.
"Unless you have a dark shadow following you, then those fears will only remain in your mind." Wang raised a brow as he shifted again, relaxing as best he could while he looked at the glowing woman. "What are you? Why did you take my friends away?" he asked. The comment only caused the figure to let out a sweet laugh, her hand waving slightly as more orbs danced about. "I did not take them. They are still here. However, due to your fear of loss they just can't be seen at the moment. Nothing will harm them however." Wang nodded, feeling some what better knowing that Ai would be safe. "Of the two you came with, one is in danger. Though not in the sense that you think." she stated again. Moving to what appeared to be a mirror made of orbs.
Within the reflection, Wang saw a dark shadow snaking around, teasing the edge of a soft light shining around Ai. The youth was crouched down, curled up while holding his ears, as if he were hearing something unbearable. "Though the shadow following him doesn't wish him harm. It shouldn't exist. Should the creature not resolve the issue within its heart, it will become something worse, and lose control over its own thoughts. When that happens, his obsession will lead to the boys death." She stated, her tone seeming sad. "The cruelty in this world is very upsetting. The two seem to have some kind of bond, however I can't figure out what it is."
Her gaze moved from the mirror back to Wang, a sorrow filled smile on her lips. "The boy trusts you, however he seems to have also been hurt by you. I don't know what happened, however do know his heart seems to hold a good amount of care for you. Just don't abuse that feeling. Otherwise he can be lost forever." she stated seeming some what thoughtful about it. "Also, the thing he wishes is possible. Though it will take a great deal of effort." Wang knitted his brows, seeming confused. "What do you mean? What does he wish?" he asked, lost as to what she was talking about. Her method of speaking seemed to change to often.
The figure laughed as she closed the mirror, leaving Wang once again alone with only the glow from her spiritual body. "His wish is simple. Just know that death may not be as it seems. For those who don't belong to this world, there is always a means to return. You just need to open your eyes to see it." she said before the lights began to fade. Wang reached out for her, his hands clasping nothing. "Wait. What did you mean?" However he was once more left in the darkness, with no means to get any answers. At the same time, his vision went dark, leaving him once more in within shadows.

Mao was standing silently within the dark space. His expression blank while his gaze moved from the shadows, seeming unworried. "Still up to the same old tricks. Miya" his tone let out, shaking his head. The soft orb that had left Wang appeared, laughing. "Mao, you really don't change. Still pretending to be someone kind?" she asked, her appearance was no longer simple lights. Instead a beautiful fairy like woman appeared, reaching out to brush the males cheek. Her fingers fazing through the flesh. "It seems I still need more power. I can't even touch you." she stated, sighing.
Mao lowered his gaze, his fist clinching. "I told you to rest. Why must you drift into strange Realms instead of remaining where you can heal your soul?" He asked. The female gave a shallow smile, her eyes watering. "I told you, waiting for me will only bring more pain. Even if you try to follow me from these Realms, My soul can't remain still. I'm bound to follow the rifts, and will end up where those rifts merge. You can't always make it into each of these realms. So give up. I don't want you to die because of me." her tone was filled with sorrow.
Mao raised his gaze, staring at Miya with a slight grin. "Even if it brings death, its better then being without you. I'll find a way. Just wait." he said, his tone firm. "I've found the Divine Spiritual Beast. Once his soul awakens the hidden Power, then I can save you. He's closer then all the rest. Already awakening 3 times." he stated, very sure of himself. Miya sighed, moving to 'rest' against Mao's shoulder. "You are so stubborn. Though I suppose that was what drew me to you." she stated. "Just be sure you don't harm the boy. He's not suppose to die by your hands." she stated. Her tone soft.
Mao laughed as he closed his eyes. "I know. I wont cause his death if that's what you are worried about. But pushing him to fully awaken can't be stopped. I'll do anything to save you. Even if I have to sell my soul to the devils to do so." the words caused a soft weep to wash over Miya as she began to fade. "I'll see you later…Don't do anything you'd regret." she said in a whisper, finally fading away. Mao was left staring at the darkness, his expression blank again while he waited. The sounds turning back to the same silence as before.
After a few moments had passed, the space began to brighten again, and Mao found himself once more standing in the same room, Wang standing just to the side. The two stared at one another as they waited, seeing if anything else would happen. However nothing seemed to change. Instead Wang was left blankly staring at the space Ai had been. His heart leaping to his chest. "Where is he?!" he asked, his tone stressed while he scanned his gaze over the room unable to see the youth. "You said he wouldn't be harmed!" he stated, feeling his heart tighten at the thought of losing the youth. Mao moved, gripping onto Wang's shoulder. Sending a calming wave of Spiritual Energy, he barely managed to keep Wang from freaking out. "He's fine. She'll return him after her time is done. Just like she had done with us." he stated while trying to keep the larger male calm.
Wang closed his eyes, trying to relax as his emotions continued to shift up and down. The feeling of calmness only making it harder for him to control the ill feeling in his gut. "I don't understand what her purpose was. Stating random things and then leaving without answering anything." he stated through gritted teeth. Mao only laughed as he shifted, moving to sit down. "True, she really doesn't like to properly state her mind. Finds it more interesting to watch to see what they do." he said nodding.
Wang paused to look over at the male, raising a brow. "That means you know who that woman was?" he asked slowly. Mao gave a weak smile, his gaze turning to Wang. "Of course. She was my wife." he stated with a shrug. "She's the same as Ai, just a mix. Her mother was a Divine Fox, while her father was of the same race as me. The cross in blood caused a strange reaction. " he began, rubbing his hands together. "Her physical body rejected her soul during the awakening. Now her soul is being forced to wander around. She says she must follow the different rifts, however I think she's just searching for something. But wont say what it is." He explained.
Wang sighed, moving to sit down. "Then Ai? Why is he still stuck with her." he asked. Mao shrugged. "We'll have to wait til he returns to ask him."
He had no idea what had happened to Ai or Mao, nor did could he sense anything other than the strange pair of eyes that he couldn't see.
