102 Chapter 96
After Ai finished washing up and changing into proper clothing, he headed back out. Mao Xing was sitting to the side, seeming to be setting up some strange stones. Ai waited to the side, watching as the youth worked. It wasn't until the last stone was put that Mao turned to look at Ai. "At least you are some what sensible." he stated while nodding. Folding his hands behind him, he took a step to the side, leaving the area where the stones were put. "First go sit in there, and cultivate using the method you use now. Lets see if it's compatible for your spiritual root." Ai nodded as he made his way into the center of what could only be an array. Taking a seat, Ai folded his legs while resting his arms on them.
Taking in a slow breath, Ai held it for a moment before allowing it free. This repeated several times as his eyes closed, and his mind cleared of all other thoughts. The Spiritual Energy in his minds pearl began to swirl around, easily passing through his spiritual veins and making it's way to the other spiritual pearls that had been created. The Energy seeped in, each pearl sucking as much as possible. The motion was painless and actually gave Ai a sense of peace as the feeling of filling washed over him. The pleasant feeling reached out, until the pearls would shimmer, slowly adjusting to more of a Spiritual Core. The Mental Power he controlled forming around the cores, keeping the energy in check.
Mao nodded, watching from the side as he moved to check each of the stones he'd placed. The hum of energy filling the space as the Energy around them swirled, dancing their ways towards Ai. Each elemental orb of Spiritual Energy moved to Ai's forehead, a soft glowing symbol appearing just between his brows. The mark gave him a surreal feel. It was as if Ai were a fairy that had decedent from the heavens. This caused Mao to pause, his eyes narrowing slightly while the youths hair began to shift as if a breeze were blowing it. The strands moving about Ai's head in a memorizing way. The stones surrounding Ai each began to glow soft reds, yellows, purples, blues and browns. Each element claiming a stone. The longer Ai moved his spiritual energy, the brighter the stones shone.
Off in the distance, Wang rested in the tree. His gaze on Ai as he lightly gripped his fist. He wanted nothing more than to rush up and pull the youth close. Telling him how beautiful he was. Though he refrained while moving his gaze away, watching Mao as he moved around the youth. He still wasn't sure what the other wanted to do, however the possibility that the male could help Ai , made it so that Wang didn't dare to step in. He'd keep his distance in case this was something good, however the moment Mao tried anything to harm Ai, he'd be there in a heartbeat. He might not be strong enough to fight him and win, however he was sure he could at least keep Ai safe long enough for the youth to get away.
Time slowly passed by as the they all waited for the process to come to an end. When Ai wasn't able to gather anymore Spiritual Energy, the youth let out a low sigh as he opened his eyes. The magical scene from before fading as everything returned to as it were. The only difference was that the stones around Ai no longer use able, cracking as the array slowly fell apart. This caused Ai to jump slightly as he looked around, unsure of what he'd done to break them. Looking up at Mao who had moved to stand before him, arms crossed. Ai bit his lip, feeling some what guilty. "I didn't mean to break them?" he let out, his tone rather soft. It was as if he were afraid of being lectured by his father. Mao just let out a snort of air while rolling his eyes. "It's nothing. Actually it means more that they broke. I'd be worried if they hadn't crumbled after that." he stated.
Letting out a soft sigh, Ai nodded while standing up, brushing the dust from his bottom. "Then did it tell you enough? Was it correctly done?" he asked, a bit worried. Though he'd been sure before that his method of cultivating was good, he wasn't so sure now. If his body wasn't advancing correctly, then what was he doing wrong? He really wasn't sure. Then again, he did avoid doing physical cultivation. So maybe it wasn't that odd? Mao as if reading his mind reached out to flick Ai's forehead lightly. The act caused no harm, however did cause Ai to reach up and rub his forehead, feeling a bit upset at the action. "The method isn't really wrong. However You are a bit to suited to it." Mao began as he moved to sit down.
Taking the cup he filled it with water once more. "Wang, you can return now. Hiding out there wont change anything." he then stated, keeping his attention on his water. The comment caused Ai to look around, confused as to where Wang was. Wang, gritting his teeth hoped out of the tree, ignoring the awkward glance from Ai as he moved to rub the youths forehead. "Now, sit and we can begin setting up the method of training." Mao said, his hand waving at the two. Both moved to take a seat, Ai still confused on why this person was helping. Even if he were a spiritual beast. From what he'd said, there was no reason for Mao to help him. So why?
"First of, your cultivation isn't the problem. In fact its very good for you to use. However, the issue is that your bloodline seems to be rather pure. Not given the fact that you've had three awakenings in the bloodline. I wouldn't be surprise if at some point you had another one. From what I can tell, you're Mental Power is much stronger than it should be at your current cultivation. That power is what is currently causing the issue. Think of it as if you had a bottle of water, yet you kept filling the bottle without allowing any of it out. The pressure will crack the container, causing it to flow out." he began, sipping the water as he spoke.
"That's kind of what is happening with the mental power. It's trying to break free from what is binding It. However, its a bit different because your body isn't really a normal body. Thus the fever and the awakening. You're body is trying to adjust to the power and strengthen itself to match it." Ai nodded, some what understanding. Wang however pressed his lips, his hand moving to rub against Ai's head. "Then, how does he fix it. Because clearly the fever wasn't helping." he said. The understanding that Ai's Mental power would only grow was very clear. That meant Ai would have to always struggle to keep his physical cultivation in balance with the Mental power that grew abnormality fast.
Mao gave a light smile, his gaze moving to Wang. "Yes. It wont work. Though Ai is a special creation, there is still limits. The Divine Spiritual beast was created to sooth and help other Spiritual Beasts become calm and less likely to deviate into madness. They were not made for power. However, Ai is proving it wrong. Not only does he have the ability to cultivate as a human. He's even able to create pills and possibly other things. Spiritual Beast have never had this ability. Thus it's changing the way his body. However the body can't keep up with these changes." Mao began. "In order to correct this, Ai will have to add in another set of Cultivation Skills to make up the difference. If not, then eventually his body will break. Sad to say, but the current Ai can't contain the mental power he's gathering." he began.
"Wouldn't it just stop if I didn't cultivate?" Ai said as he frowned, not at all liking the idea of his body bursting because of Mental Energy. His comment however only caused Mao to frown, shaking his head. "You don't seem to understand. You've already created the Cores. Just now, you felt it yes? The Spiritual Pearls you'd created? Those Cores will constantly seek out Spiritual Energy. Even without you cultivating." Ai frowned, allowing his senses to see if what was being said were true. Feeling the Spiritual Energy still slowly moving through his veins. Ai's eyes widen while seeming a bit shocked.
Not paying attention to the youths expression, Mao continued. "In order to prevent your body from eventually giving out. You'll have to keep at it, until both the Mental and Physical cultivation can equalize one another. However, I'm not sure how long that will take." Wang frowned, moving to hold Ai's hand while patting his head. He didn't really know how to help the youth. Maybe if he never caused them to enter this world, Ai wouldn't be in danger of self harm. He really was an idiot. "No worries. I can create a method to help Ai until the time comes for there to be no worry. He'd just have to keep at it until then."
The two nodded, Mao standing up after finishing his water. "Right. Now all you need to do is rest. I'll be heading out to gather what I need. I'll return tomorrow. Be sure you avoid pill making. It would only increase the speed." Wang stood up, nodding as he helped Ai stand. "Then, we'll see you tomorrow.' He stated. After Mao left, the two stood there, staring at one another. Ai really wasn't sure what to do, his own thoughts a bit jumbled. "Lets just eat some dinner and sleep." he said patting Ai's back. It was only then that Ai realized how much time had passed since he'd enter the array. The sun had already passed over and the moon currently shown in the sky..
Taking in a slow breath, Ai held it for a moment before allowing it free. This repeated several times as his eyes closed, and his mind cleared of all other thoughts.
