93 Chapter 87
-- Wang's View Point --
The isolation chamber that Wang had been led to, was hidden in the back end of the peak. Holding nothing more than a platform for him to cultivate on, Wang sat, letting his spiritual energy circle through his spiritual veins while remaining in a relaxed manor. Slowly he released his breath, some sweat forming on his forehead while the seeds of darkness began to stir once more. The only way to completely get rid of it, would to face the darkness and overcome it. However, this wasn't something easy to do.
Not only did he have to allow the feelings and illogical thoughts free, Wang also had to fight them. How can one truly fight against their own mind? To deny the feelings kept within his heart, regardless of how dark they were? If he had denied these thoughts from the start, then he wouldn't have created the glitch to this world. Ai would still be living his life at the college, and they wouldn't have gotten together. These thoughts swirled in his mind, unable to let go of the thought of never having the chance to be with the youth.
Slowly the memories of watching Ai from afar, seeing the youth try his best to do his class work, talking with friends. Or just enjoying a quiet evening. He had been so bright and pure. Thoughts of wanting to take that beauty and locking it away was all he could think of. Wanting the smile Ai had only pointed in his direction. Slowly the memories began to shift, becoming something darker. The youth he treasured no longer smiling, instead there was bits of his tears, his soft moans while he was under Wang.
Needless to say, his body began to stir in reaction, wanting to pull the youth to him and do all the horrible things his mind brought forth. Struggling, Wang forced himself to turn from those thoughts, pushing through the need to bind the youth to him forever. It wasn't what he truly wanted. Yes, in a twisted way it was. But he wanted something more. He just wanted to be with Ai, and to be happy with the youth while living together. When did his desires become so black? Within the isolation chamber, the shadow like strands of lighting began to grow, stirring around Wang as he struggled through the illusion brought to him.
Regardless of how many times he tried to push passed the dark thoughts in his mind, he found himself stumbling back to the same scenes. His heart was slowly starting to shatter with each world Ai called out, of hating him. Of wanting to leave. He struggled to keep his rational thoughts as he was left to watch Ai leave. A few times he'd break to the point where he'd start to attack the illusion before him. Wanting to just keep the illusion forever bound at his side. He slowly started to lose himself to it, unable to stop as he released his desires.
Before Wang could completely fall into the darkness, a sharp pain rushed through his head. The image of Ai pleading for him to save him. The pain and hurt in his eyes as he begged Wang to stop the 'beast' from attacking him. When Wang looked to see who that beast was, he found himself frozen. Staring back at him, was another Wang. However his expression was twisted, and he was very horrifying to look at. It was at this image that he realized that the one who was causing Ai the pain was him all along. His grasped his chest, feeling his heart squeezing tightly while he gasped. It had always been him that had caused Ai pain. Him who had taken everything from the youth, and caused him to be stuck in a false world. To lose everything.
Tears filled his eyes as he slowly fell to the ground, his body limp while he struggled to gather his thoughts again. How could he have been so selfish? So blind to what he had been doing. It took him a long time, but slowly, Wang managed to struggle back to his feet. His expression was blank as he stared at the crying youth before him, still pleading for him to help. A weak smile passed his lips as he looked at him, his resolve finally being firm as he turned back to look at the twisted and dark him. The soft expression turning back to the blank mask from before.
"It's time for you to leave. I wont hurt him anymore…" his words were soft, almost a whisper as he slowly walked closer to the monster like self. The other him gave low growls, as if he weren't even human anymore. "You are not needed. Even if I have to lose him forever, its better than him being lost forever…" Though his words made no sense, Wang felt his heart lighten. The darkness surrounding him slowly fading as the other Wang began to crumble, like broken glass. Wang turned to look back at the scared and hurt Ai, watching as the youth slowly faded into wisps of light.
When Wang opened his eyes, he felt his body become much lighter. The horrible and dark thoughts no longer rushing through his mind. His eyes were focused on the empty space before him as he let out a breath of air. He began to move his spiritual energy through his body once more, no longer able to feel the darkness lingering within his heart. He'd finally passed. Now, the question only remained. How could he make it up to the youth he'd harmed? Surely he wouldn't be able to remain along side Ai. Though it pained him, the truth of the mater was, that Ai should be free.
Wang left the isolation chamber and made his way to the youth, his heart thought light, still felt a bit of worry as he thought of what he needed to do. To admit to his mistakes, to finally let the youth out of his hold. It was what he had wanted to avoid at all costs. Lying and tricking himself that it was okay to do. He needed to correct the mistakes. But how? He didn't know what he had to do, but he needed to make amends. The issue was, what would Ai want for those amends?
When Ai saw Wang, his expression was still a bit awkward. Wang, realizing that Ai still hadn't been able to process everything, didn't push the youth. Instead he stood just an arms reach away while nodding to him. "We, should talk." he stated, his words strained while gesturing towards the table for them to sit. Thankfully Ai didn't refuse him and took a seat, his tense body showing just how affected he was by getting his memories returned.
"I'm sorry." This was the first thing Wang said. His head held even while looking the youth in the eyes. "It was all my fault, everything. I shouldn't have tricked you into this world. Nor should I have lied about everything. I'm sorry for it all. For hurting you, and tricking you. I'll break the spiritual pact between us, and I'll let you live your life however you wish. Even if its not with me. I'll also try to find a way for you to go home…" he stated, his words coming out steady and slow. This was what he had to do, to allow the youth the chance to be free. To also help him make it back to the real world.
Ai was silent as he sat there, listening to the other speak. His heart thundered in his chest as the mixed emotions filled him. Anger, relief, regret, sadness. There were so many emotions that he wasn't really sure how to react for the longest time. He numbly looked at the other, unable to express what it was he felt at the moment. After a long while, the silence filled the space between the two. Wang waited without trying to press the youth. It wasn't his place to force him to respond to his apology. It would go against what he wanted to do. Thus he just let the silence stretch out.
When Wang was about to excuse himself so Ai could think, the youth let out a breath of air. "I…Thank you. Though you don't have to break the pact. It's nothing that bad honestly. Besides, you weren't all that bad." He said his gaze lowering while he fiddled with the robes sleeves. "To be honest, I really hated you. But after everything else. Sure I couldn't remember anything, but I did come to like you. At first you were annoying, then it was okay." he began trying to word his feelings.
"I…I want to try again. But..there will be rules. I don't want you trying to affect my feelings. I want…I want to see if maybe we can be together, just without all the passed issues." he said before looking back up. "Of course, I still want to go home…" he added. He might not know where he belonged, but returning home would be good. He could treat this as a weird dream that was both good and bad. Maybe he could move on from this, maybe not. But he wanted to try.
Wang gave a small smile as he nodded. "Yes. Of course, whatever you wish." he said while still keeping his distance, but the joy of Ai giving him a second chance gave him hope. His mood turning much better. "Then…lets get to know one another again." Ai stated, holding out his hand to shake the others. "I'm Ai Yu…" he stated, despite this being rather…useless. Wang however didn't question it, taking the others hand to shake it. "I'm Saoi Hiro." he stated back.
Ai's eyes widen slightly before he let out a small laugh. "And here I was wondering who would of known so much about me. Seems like you hid a lot from me." Ai stated shaking his head, causing Wang to blush slightly while looking away. "Mm…"
"Then, shall we get back to cultivating? I'm about to reach the next stage.." Ai said while standing up, looking behind to watch as Wang also stood up, nodding while the two headed towards the study room.
