78 Chapter 72
Both Ai and Wang were unsure of what to expect. It wasn't really like the understood how testing stones worked okay? Not only did Ai not know if he could even test with those things used no humans, Wang wasn't sure if this would caused Ai to be found out! Thus with no better option, Wang had to go first. If anything, he could at least prove himself useful, then hopefully get the elder to spar Ai as his spiritual beast should things go wrong.
Unable to put it off any longer, Wang swiftly walked up to the stone. Though a bit miffed that his chosen disciple had stayed back, Elder Fei still remained calm as he watched the larger youth before him move to the testing stone. Giving a nod, he watched as Wang moved his hand to the stone, watching as the faint energy around the stone began to shift, pulling the energy from within Wang out and testing it.
This only took a few moments, however it felt like a life time. Wang's own fear was that his make up from being not of this world would possibly cause an issue. However, he seemed to be extremely lucky, as the faint energy began to shine a dark bluish purple. After the color, the two stones next to the one he touched also began to emit faint colors. One was a soft yellow, while the other was deep red.
Unsure of what that meant, Wang slowly pulled his hand away, glancing at the elder to see what he'd scored. He hadn't tested his actual abilities this way before okay? He had no idea what was going to happen, nor what these colors meant! Though it should be some what good, seeing as the elders expression was a bit surprised and not at all disdainful as he'd thought it would be.
"Ah, Rare Talent of High skill and both a Lighting and Fire element root! Pretty good." he stated while running a hand through his beard as he let out a hearty laugh. "You are rather good, yes. Not bad. Mo Chou will really enjoy training you." he stated as if knowing something Wang did not. However, that would be something for him to worry about later.
Not to long after he'd commented, the elders gaze moved back to Ai, his eyes glowing as he waved the youth up to test next. As the one chosen by him, Ai's results were the one he looked forward to the most after all. Thus, unable to hide, Ai had to make his way up, glancing at Wang as the larger male moved back to stand out of the testing ring.
Biting his lip, Ai fidgeted a bit before he slowly began to reach out, unsure of what would happen when he finally touched the stone. His heart thumping in his chest, a small line of sweat pooling at his temples as he tried to remain calm. He really didn't want this to cause him to die ah! He hadn't had his revenge yet!
His unease was unneeded. The moment his slim fingers touched the stone, it began to react the same as it had to Wang. The only difference was the color was a bright golden yellow. The two side stones also shone with a flux of all the colors one could think to associate to cultivation. This reaction not only caused Ai to be a bit taken back, but Wang as well! The two glanced at each other, unsure of what this would mean!
Would it be a good thing? Would it be a bad thing? Who would answer? Clearly not Elder Fei who was to busy stupidly gazing at the beautiful swirling lights. The older males whole body seemed frozen as the lights began to fade. It wasn't until the testing room was back to normal. The Elders gaze finally moved back to Ai, his eyes shining as he let out another laugh, seeming rather pleased with how Ai had tested.
"I just knew you would be the best one to choose!" he stated with a pleased tone, walking over to lightly pat the small youths head. His movements were swift and soft, making Ai stiff and unsure how to react. Thankfully Wang had moved over, easily moving Ai behind him while lightly brushing the smaller males head off. Clearly he hadn't liked watching someone else pat his wife's head! No, that was only something he could do!
Rubbing his nose after the snub, Elder Fei laughed as he adjusted himself, coughing a bit to clear the air while ignoring Wang's not so subtle glare. "Clearly you are the heavens chosen one ah? I've never seen a more beautiful Spiritual root! So pure and fool of heavens grace!" Fei's words echoed through the hall, making both Wang and Ai blink in confusion.
Heaven's chosen one? Ah what? Clearly they didn't get the memo! Thus, Elder Fei had to explain his words to the two youths that clearly didn't seem to believe him.
"Within this world, there is the spiritual root yes? It is ranked by color. Yellow is poor talent, followed by orange, red, green, blue, purple. Then there is the heavens color, gold. This is what we call Heaven's Son's color." he began his gaze soft while explaining.
"Wang's bluish Purple is rather good, it shows he has high luck, and would be able to get rather far in cultivation. However, the golden color is even better. Though only difference is you are able to use any Spiritual Energy, while Wang is only suited for Fire and Lighting." he stated, explaining how the color ranks for elemental talents went.
"Since you have great ability plus the ability to use any element, you are basically heaven's Chosen Child. Meaning, regardless if its pill making, array making or anything else, you'd be very good at it. However the Wood and Fire elements were a bit brighter, thus meaning Pill Making would be a step above."
As he explained, the two nodded while seeming to think back on the scrolls they had read, It did seem to say something about this? However they hadn't really thought much of it, being as they weren't sure how to test for those. What more, Wang wasn't even from this world in body and soul, so he wasn't sure if he even had a spiritual root.
Though Ai's body had been from this world, his soul was from Wang's, thus he wasn't sure how that would affect the nature of his body! It was a bit hard to really work figure things out without someone to guide you after all. Scrolls could only explain so much. Without a teacher to help guide you, you'd more or less stumble upon areas that were not well explained.
After they had finished explaining, and Elder Fei was finished recording down the information needed. He happily lead the two back to his peak, humming due to his rather good mood. Not only had he gotten Heaven's Child, but he also managed to get a rare talent for free!
As they walked through the eatery way to Elder Fei's Peak's Palace, there was a large White Lion who was lazing about in the sun. Lifting its head up, it turned to glance at the three people entering, while letting out a yawn with a soft roar. Pushing itself up, it began to walk over to its master, rubbing up Against the elders waist while turning to look at the new members.
"Ah, Mo Chou, good thing you are here!" Elder Fei stated with a pleased smile, patting the large lions head. "I've brought you a disciple to train!" he stated while petting the lion. Mo Chou, as it had been called glanced at Ai for a moment before looking from his master to the male he pointed at. The gaze seeming rather bored.
Wang was unsure of how to feel, being set as the disciple to a Spiritual beast, however the issue now was how would the Lion react to Ai? Clearly the damn thing already was aware of what Ai was!
As if to prove this, the lion swiftly moved to rub up against Ai, his head coming up to the youths chest while it moved to sit by him, stating that it would rather be with Ai than Wang. Clearly it didn't care what his master had stated. The lions tail easily wrapping around Ai's waist and looking at the larger youth with a spiteful gaze.
Both Elder Fei and Wang both looked at the stupid thing with dark expressions. However, Ai just lightly pat the lions head whispering something to his ear that caused the lion to finally move over to Wang, huffing as if unhappy about whatever Ai had stated.
Wang glanced at Ai, who blinked at him with an innocent expression. Fine, he'd figure out what happened later! He'd like to see Ai avoid answering him when they went to bed!
