77 Chapter 71
The trip to the sect was rather quiet. Though, that was mostly because Wang and Ai were more worried about being 'found out'. On the other hand, Hau who hadn't been invited, was being ignored. Despite her attempts to mingle with the party that had been trapped with them, as well as a few of the elders, Hau found that no one she spoke to was willing to give more than a grunt in response.
Thus, unable to idly hint at the situation with Ai, she was left pouting behind the group. Sure she could of just left, but that would mean giving up her male god! How could she do that? That would just mean that damn hussy got her man! No way she would allow that to happen. Though, it seemed that getting him out of the picture would be a bit harder than she first thought. Clearly Wang was to deep in the enchantment to be talked out of it!
Ai's own thoughts were trying to figure out on what they would do, sure they were more or less being forced to follow the elders back. But still, he didn't know if that meant they would join, or were going to be forced to do labor to 'repay' the damn fogey. His mood was depressed, and though he understood Wang's points on using this as a means to get information, he didn't like the idea of having to stay within a sect. Clearly they were hypocrites!
Wang, noticing that his own thoughts were not helping the youth relax tried his best to just remain at his side, promising that he'd make sure nothing happened to him. If anything, they'd just fight their way out and hide before they could counter attack and win.
When they group finally arrived at the entrance to the sect, the rest of the party hurried off to report to their own halls while the Fogey who had told Wang and Ai to follow along stood at the entry way, looking from to the other, his gaze never moving to Hua who had also been left outside. Though he had told these two promising youths to follow along, he still had to wait to follow proper order with bringing strangers into the sect sect, thus he was left to watch the two. His gaze stayed on them, making sure no fishy things were happening.
While waiting, Ai was forced to keep himself some what hidden behind Wang, unwilling to be fully gazed at by the old mans creepy gaze. Wang, standing guard in front of the smaller male kept his own gaze on the elder, not sure what was happening now. Why have them follow, if they weren't going to be allowed in?! Couldn't they just leave if they had to wait here for some stupid reason? His own mood was rather bad at this slight.
After a few moments of waiting, Hua who had been ignored the whole time had finally stepped up, her hands resting on her hips as she leaned forward. "What are we waiting for ah? I want a bath! Some food!" she complained while looking at the elder with much annoyance. Her tone rather disrespectful as she spoke. This only caused the elder to finally glance at her with a look of blank emotion. "You are? I don't remember asking you to follow. You can go on and return home." he stated without a care for the annoying girl.
His comment caused Ai who hadn't been in a good mood to faintly laugh. The sound caused the other three to turn to look at him, Wang even raising a brow. Shrinking back, Ai blushed lightly while looking away, seemingly like he hadn't laughed. Though the elder who had appeared also let out a hearty laugh, his own actions rather open and unafraid of what others thought.
"Elder Shing you brought back a nice one, daring to laugh at the comments of an elder." he stated unable to hide the humor in his gaze. Elder Shing, as he'd been called rolled his gaze for a moment while seeming respectful to the other, who seemed younger. Both Ai and Wang were left a bit confused as the new comer moved to standing before the two, looking them over.
"Little Li-Li said that you wanted to recruit some new blood for your outer sect? Well, I approve of accepting them, but his one should follow this master!" he stated nodding to Ai. His statement causing Elder Shing to be taken back as he turned his gaze once more to the little youth hiding behind the larger one. "If that's what Grand-master wants.." he then stated without much care. Though he had wanted more hands to help with task around the outer area of the sect. He couldn't fight over a disciple with this power house!
Ai, who had been the one the 'Grand-Master' had wanted blinked a few times, pointing at himself. "Ah?" unsure as why he'd been taken in as this guys disciple instead of Wang, who was clearly the better of the two. However, what he didn't realize was the one before him was a Grand-Master not in cultivation fighting arts, but Pill making!
After reaching the higher ranks within Pill making, One had the ability to tell one someone was suited for the arts or not. Though testing his actual level would be needed, Grand-Master Fei had the keen idea that the youth would be a good student to teach, able to tell that Ai slightly above a novice!
Wang, who had been silent frowned as he looked at the elder, unwilling to part with his lovely wife but unable to give a justifiable answer. However, before he could become to upset, Ai gripped onto his sleeve, peeking at the elder. "b-but I don't want too.." he stated in a soft voice, not really daring to reject the other to loudly. Why would he agree to follow a stranger ah? He wasn't a person! He was a spiritual beast! What if they found out? Without Wang, he didn't feel safe!
Grand Master Fei frowned as he crossed his arms, looking from one to the other, "How about he follow ah? My Spiritual beast can train him." he stated of handed. It wasn't really the normal method, however the idea of getting a good seedling was enough to make Fei Hong willing to offer this instead. Elder Shing who was off to the side was left frowning as his only other option to snatch was also being taken by the Grand Master. Really so hateful!
With the promise of Wang being allowed to go, Ai found it a bit more acceptable to follow the Elder, seeming less opposed as he glanced at Wang to see if he'd agree. Wang, who no longer had to leave his wife nodded, looking at the grand-master with a complicated expression. "I suppose that's fine, I just want to keep Ai safe." he stated uncaring of his own situation. If he can make sure nothing happens to the youth, he'd be glad.
Thus with that decided, Grand-Master Fei smiled as he clapped his hands, "Great! Okay, Lets go, follow along." he stated wanting to lead the two in so they could test. Being as he'd already decided to take them in, there wouldn't be a need to set up any spectacle, only wishing to find their current levels as well as their possible potential within the cultivation world.
Elder Shing, who had been left without a care by the Grand-Master, had no choice but to turn his gaze onto the girl who was still looking rather vexed at being ignored and laughed at. "I guess that means you'll come with me." he stated in a dull tone before turning, uncaring if she followed or not. She wasn't the one he had even wanted in the first place!
Hua, unwilling to follow such a bland and ugly person gritted her teeth as she hurried after him, still unwilling to give up despite how the elder had treated her thus far. If anything, she'd prove her worth and find someone better! Then she'd have a chance to possibly get rid of that hateful Ai and finally gain her male god as her husband. However, first she needed to make sure she entered the blasted sect, or there would be no chance at all!
Each person heading their own way, leaving the entry to the sect once more void of people, as the barrier protecting the entrance once more shifted close, hiding away the sects location as if it had never been there.
Wang and Ai had been led to the testing area, where the grand-master had began to fiddle with some things, bringing out some testing stones and a few other objects. His movements swift and uncaring as the two were left watching unsure of what to expect.
"Okay, who first?" he then asked, looking from one to the other, not caring who went first. Both of the youths were left looking at one another, not sure what to do. What to do? Could Ai even test?! Ah, maybe things weren't so simple after all?
Thus, unable to idly hint at the situation with Ai, she was left pouting behind the group. Sure she could of just left, but that would mean giving up her male god! How could she do that?
