76 Chapter 70
Several days began to pass as the group slowly began to trail further into the winding cave. Each person careful to avoid the walls at all cost. Though they weren't sure what had truly happened, they wouldn't be daring enough to test out anymore cracks after what had happened. The only one to make rather distasteful comments was actually Hua.
After spending her time mostly being treated like air, she was growing rather frustrated and would randomly snap. Mostly it was at Ai who spent his time silently following Wang without saying much. His nature as a spiritual beast was kept well hidden, and he didn't really want to mingle with anyone part of those evil sects.
Thus it was usually only Wang who would retaliate against Hua's comments. However when the came across a dead end, with nothing more than a crack in the wall, she had the brains to mutter, "Maybe Ai should test it out ah? See if its a safe passage or that damn death one." Though she had tried to speak softly, it was still heard by the rest.
Finally unable to take it anymore, the rest of the group had began to spew out a few curses at her. Wang glaring while itching to just kill the damn girl. However he was stopped by Lei Yao each time he made a move to attack. He could of over powered the other, but in order to keep the half made peace between the group, Wang would back down each time.
Left with no other choice, the group was forced to remake camp and come up with another path in order to hopefully find either a way out, or something to get answers about what was going on in this bloody cave.
This is how the group passed the time as it slowly passed by, one day, two, three, on and on until it was as if they'd been trapped for months! Each person was growing more and more reluctant to go further. The sect cultivation group was even beginning to wonder if their elders had lied to them? They'd clearly been here longer than the agreed time, so why hadn't the arrived yet!
When left in a place with faint lighting, and no real knowledge to what was happening, one was easy to slowly start to go insane. It wouldn't take much longer for the group to finally break and for dangerous situations to start taking place. More so with Hua often taunting a member of the group with crude comments as well as her clear dislike of the Small beauty.
Thankfully, before to much damage could be done, A loud crash sounded through the cave, causing a vague sound of hissing to rush over them. It wasn't until they had all adjusted their gazes to where the sound was, that they realized that a group of elder looking cultivators were standing just outside of an array that acted kind of like a portal. The sound was the force-able method in which it had been opened.
Seeing the elder men that had entered through an array, the group let out cries of joy as the 'youths' rushed forth to greet their masters. This left Wang, Ai and Hua left to the side, still a bit startled but unsure of what to do now that they had a means to escape.
Though the sect cultivators had once began to lose faith in being saved, they soon found out after some talk that in actuality, they'd only been gone for 2 days! In the original agreement, they had stated they'd be here for a week at top. But because one of the disciples life tokens had broken, the elders had decided to break in, the reason it took so long was because of the blasted seal around the realm.
Lei Yao was left to explain what had happened, while also introducing the elders to Wang, Ai as well as Hua who were still unsure of what to expect. Ai had moved to standing behind Wang, not really sure what else to do. Though he wished to rid all sects of this world, he still had enough understanding that he was nothing more than a weak ant right now!
Hua was just off to the side, neither to far nor close to Wang and Ai. She had wanted to stand next to her male god, however she didn't dare to get to close in case he toss her out to die first! She still didn't have the chase to claim the male god as her own, at least not until the damn enchantress was dead. Yes, Hua still thought Ai had used some weird magic to make Wang care for him. It was the only thing she could think of that made sense!
Though unsure of the three strangers, the elders had 'kindly' allowed the three to follow them out. This wasn't really in line with how they normally did things. However after Lei Yao and the others had made the effort to point them out, the old fogey's couldn't just ignore them! It would cause them to lose face in front of their disciples after all.
Thus they had all safely made it outside the realm safely. Wang and Ai gave a few comments of thanks, wanting nothing more then to hurry off and leave before they got stuck in a tougher situation. However before they could leave, Hua had to open her mouth!
"Great Elders, please listen ah? I need to tell you something about those two there!" she stated pointing to Wang and Ai who had been trying to sneak off. Unable to leave, Wang and Ai were forced to remain as the elders gazes moved to looking at them. Hua, feeling as if she had gained an upper hand finally had opened her mouth to state what she wanted to tell them, however the eldest one of the group waved her off.
"You two, come here." he stated rather rudely, his attitude a bit cold and face blank. His strength being higher than Wang's made it hard for them to refuse. Thus the two walked over, unsure of what this damn old man wanted.
"Good….Yes, Good." he muttered after taking a better look at the two, "You both come with us, since we helped you out, then you should at least pay it off yeah? Thus you should both come and enter the sect to off set the payment." he then stated with no room for argument. His words not only shocked Ai and Wang, but also the other members of the group. What paying off their debts? Clearly this old Fogey just wanted to reap the cheap cultivators to his side! The other elders had also noticed that their consultations weren't small! Wang's was the highest, at High Soul forming, Foundation high level. Followed by Ai who was at High Soul Forming, Foundation medium stage!
Sure they had many talents at the sect, but they weren't usually ones they could take. Each of these Elders, though great in their own rights, were sill the weaker of all the elders! Unable to go against the eldest member, the rest stayed silent while secretly cursing him!
The elder who had spoken to them, had then began to lead the rest back towards the sect, glancing back to make sure that the two would follow. As if knowing they'd most likely flee the moment he stopped keeping an eye on them. Thus Ai and Wang were unable to leave as planned, instead had to follow along with reluctance.
Hua also followed, unwilling to part despite no one really inviting her to follow. She was just thankful that the dang elders hadn't chased her off yet! Then again, they weren't really minding what she did. Who would bothering with a weak female? If anything she'd just be another pretty face to look at. Thus none of the elders had an issue.
Gloomy, Ai fidgeted as he walked, wanting nothing more than to change into his fox form and hiding Wang's arms. Though, he was even more unwilling to expose himself to these blasted old me, so thus he was forced to follow along on foot, pouting to himself as Wang attempted to coax him with gentle pats on his shoulder.
'Though we can't fight them now, just wait. Maybe it wont be so bad their, and we can at least learn some useful information ah?' he then spoke to the other through their bond, sot hat the blasted elders couldn't listen in should the be doing so.
Unable to deny this, Ai reluctantly gave in, treating this as another means to an end. Yeah, they could use this to find out secrets and other information about sects in order to properly deal with them later! He'd make sure to pay back that old grouch for his attitude! Just wait! Hmph! Ai pouted softly to himself, following the group.
