22 Meeting with the Demigoddess and revelation

I just came back home when i heard the ringtone of my smartphone, i picked up and Stella spoke

''So how did it go?''

''It went smoothly, i killed the entire pack and now, i know which a**hole tried to end me.''

''It's good nothing unexpected happened. Was it Luke? How did you get rid of the corpses?''

''Let's just say that i got myself a pretty sweet new ability. And no it wasn't Luke, it was one of my acquaintances, don't worry about it, once i've settled it i will talk to you about him.''

''I see be careful, speaking of cleaning, the boss of Pixie and associates want to meet you.''

''Why ?'' i asked genuinely surprised.

''She didn't say, she just said that it was urgent.''

''Fine give her my number and tell her to send me the meeting place and the date.''

''Ok so when are you coming to see me?'' she asked mischievously.

''*cough* *cough* As soon as i can '' i replied awkwardly. When i thought about our night together.

''I can't wait'' she said seductively before hanging up. I made a wry smile.

After the call i went for a long bath to get rid of the blood and the nauseating smell of charred flesh. I then crashed and slept through the night.

I went for 2 hours run after waking up the next day. I then took a quick shower and a light breakfast before leaving the apartment. Clarice had sent me a text and i needed to meet her in 1 h at her place. I was wandering what that super powerful being wanted though.

I took my car and headed toward Brook district where she lived. As it wasn't that far from my place i managed to get there in 25min. I stopped in front of a gated community. After the vigil saw my ID he let me in. Clarice house was situated at the end of one of the road in the south of the community. It was beautiful house with a flourishing garden.

'As expected of a fae'

I got out of my car and rang the bell to indicate my presence. A few seconds later i heard foot steps noise getting closer and the door opened.

The person in front of me was dressed in a light purple dress with numerous floral patterns. She was a beautiful woman and more importantly she was the pixie i met the night of the ambush.

Now of course you're thinking who else did you think you were going to see? you're here for a meeting with her. And you would not be wrong but the Clarice in front of me was not the one with tens centimetres of height, her present height was just a few centimetres short of reaching mine, which means she was full human size and her wings were nowhere to be seen.

Now you understand my confusion.

''This is my second form, you should have learned about my mixed nature yes?'' she said after seeing the surprise in my eyes.

I felt in this form she's more stern and serious compared to her mischievousness and greedy attitude in the pixie form.

''Oh yes so that's why. Please excuse my rudeness Miss Clarice '' I answered shaking my thoughts

''It's nothing come on in''

She led me to the living room where she served me a cup of aromatic tea. As we were sipping she stared at me making me nervous. if it was before it wouldn't be the case but since Stella told me about her nature and prowess i knew she was not to be F**ked with.

Finally she said:

''The reason i called for this meeting is because i felt something which shouldn't exist on this city or even in this world, and the source was you'' her eyes piercing.

I was puzzled by her declaration and asked

''I don't understand ?''

'' The gods power, i should know after all my father is one himself, even though it was an extremely weak vibration it couldn't escape my notice. it appeared twice, once two days ago in the city and the other time was yesterday night in the forest located few kilometers away from the city.''

If i didn't know the power she was talking about by know i would be a hopeless idiot. She's referring to my WILL power

I was stunned. She knew since the first moment i used it, as expected of a demigoddess her means are powerful.

'But what i don't understand is she called it gods power'

''I see what you mean but why are you calling it gods power?''

''Because it's what it is…or how do you refer to it?''

''WILL power''

''Hmm..It's not wrong to call it that either, it's true that gods power are basically an exercise of will. But no mere human or supernatural are able to manipulate their will into affecting reality the ability need to do that is a prerogative of the gods.''

''You mean to say that i shouldn't be able to use it?''

''Well unless you are the offspring of a god or a god yourself, then no''

I stayed silent pondering about what she just said ' So the WILL power i use is also used by the gods?'

'' You need to understand that the reason gods are so powerful is because they power their divine will with the faith of their followers. Their immortality is also due to the same reason, unless one kill all the followers of a god and then kill him he will never die.''

'I see so that's how it is, i only coincidently gained this ability through of my recent upgrade.'

''All i wanted for you is to realise that you can never let the gods learn of your existence or else it will raise all kind of complicated issues as this is a power belonging to the gods to see it in a non god is unsettling and will cause an uproar.''

''Well you don't need to worry much you are not a god so it's impossible for you to absorb faith, infringing on the domain of a god. Your also lucky most of the gods on this plane have left except for the gods in faerie. You should never set foot there'' she said seriously.

'I shouldn't tell her that i can upgrade it by dying.' i thought

''Why did you tell me all that?'' i asked curious, she was a demigoddess, at least part of her belonged to the gods race so why would she help me and not atomise me this instant.

''It's simple, i hate gods.'' she said calmly as if she said the sky is blue, as if it was obvious.

''Why?''

''let's just say i have my reasons'' i knew she wouldn't speak anymore and i didn't continued this line of thoughts.

''So you can use it too?''

''Yeah somewhat, i am not on the level of gods yet as i don't have enough followers.''

As she said this i thought about her business. Was that the reason an ancient being like her did a job like that? After analysing all the things she said to me, the things i heard about her, and her identity it could only be that.

''Let me see the level of your power.'' she asked suddenly.

I simply nodded and point a finger toward the cup on the table, with a flick the cup rose and levitate in mid hair. She looked at me and she closed her eyes, a formless energy spread from her and reach the floating cup. Immediately i felt her power cover mine. It was like i was a small boat suddenly thrown in a vast ocean. It lasted for a few minutes before she retracted it then she opened her eyes and said with a surprised tone:

''It's quite high. I thought your level was weaker than that''

I put the cup down before asking:

''Can you teach me how to use it or a technique to better control it?''

''There's no need for a control method or something like that the only limit is your level of power and imagination.''

'So i just need a powerful will and imagination. At least i got the latter covered' then i thought about something:

''Wait is there a way to strengthen the will without needing to absorb faith like gods do?'' I mean i can't always die to become more powerful and as she said i can't absorb faith as it's an ability unique to gods or their descendant.

She didn't answer immediately and took a sip of her tea. Then she said:

''There's a way, you need to find objects of will and absorb the will power in them. Generally they are historical object with a peculiar significance or having belonged to a determined personage. There's also a second way you need to challenge dangerous situation to temper your will.''

'I was both excited and down because although i had new methods of powering up, one of them require me to search for extremely rare object, or put myself in dangerous situation which i am already doing every day often resulting in my death.'

''Thanks for the advice advice'' i said grateful if she didn't warned me i wouldn't know how i died. I stood up and shook her hands.

''I don't know what you are or the secrets you hide but i had an intuition that helping you would be of use in the future.

''Take care''

''yeah''

Driving home from her place I was still thinking about the informations i got and what possible trouble it would send my way.

'At least there is an upside, the gods have left this world, i wonder why though? with the massive population of human reaching an astonishing 10 Billions of individual, compared to the old times this world is definitely a juicy apple to be eaten. But she seemed like she wouldn't answer those core questions pertaining to gods despite her hatred of them. Well now how to find these ''Objects of Will''?'

With those thoughts swirling in my head I went home.
