25 Prisoners

"Oi! Time to wake up lazy bums. It's dinner time."

(Ugh, my head hurts.) Ernst Haeckel held his head that was throbbing in pain. Slowly, his eyes opened and he saw that he was inside a small dark room. The smell inside was nauseating, making him retch.

He looked around and saw that their were four other men inside the cramped room. One was the person who was waking them up while the others were prisoners like him. From the looks of their faces, they had already given up on living. They wore only a piece of underwear, revealing the wounds and bruises that decorated their bare body.

Haeckel felt hot. He checked his neck and his forehead, which further reinforced the knowledge that he was having a fever. He checked his waist but his weapons were not their. If there was anything that could console him, it would be the fact that he still had his suit and his clothes on him.

"Hey pretty boy, didn't you hear me? I told you to stand up!" The thug who woke them up approached Haeckel and was about to kick him when he spoke.

"I'm standing up."

The thug stopped his advance and smiled. "Good. I like obedient people. Okay lads, follow me."

The group of men walked along a hall. Upon stepping outside, Haeckel realized that they were inside a school. The room they were in was an unimportant room that's why it was small. Later on, they joined with the other prisoners who were in a similar state with them. Some of them were conversing with each other but most of them kept their silence.

"What do you think they are going to do with us?"

"I don't know but I have a bad feeling about this."

"We're just going to dinner right?"

"Use your brain. Are those people really going to give us dinner? Look at the people around you. How many are we? 40? 50? There's just too much for them to feed. They're probably up to no good."

Haeckel was listening to the people in front of him and like them, he also did not have a good feeling about this. Listening to the people, one man got his attention. This man looked like he was a police officer in the past and was the most reasonable one among the group.

(What do I do?) Haeckel's brain spun around to think but instead, it throbbed in pain. His body was burning hot and in addition, he felt sick and weak. (How many coins do I still have?)

Haeckel opened the Shop and he saw that he had a whopping 300 coins. (Last time I checked, I only had around two coins after buying the Muay Thai Art! There were less than ten zombies I killed after that so why would I have 300? Wait. Did my coins increase because I killed that guy?) Haeckel remembered killing Satoh.

The group entered the school gymnasium and was surprised by the set-up. There were people sitting on the benches, laughing and cheering at them. The men had one or two women beside them while the women had men leashed like dogs. Clearly, the abused men and women were not part of the thug group.

The gymnasium was illuminated by torches, especially the center of the gym wherein the torches formed a rectangular pattern around the basketball court. The tattered group that Haeckel belonged was forced to entere the basketball court.

"What do you think they are going to do with us."

"Quiet down. I have a bad feeling about this."

Between the murmurs, one bold man shouted, "Release us! I'm the son of a Councillor. I can get you what you guys want so get me out of here."

After a minute, a group of thugs entered the court and picked the young man out. More people shouted that they were also sons of this and that.

"I'm the cousin of the Prime Minister!"

"My father is from the House of Representatives!"

"My father's a close friend of a senator."

"My father's a business tycoon."

"My father owns this school."

"My father owns your ass."

"My father is your father!"

"I'm your father..."

Many people shouted and mocked the thugs but unlike them, Haeckel and the policeman kept their silence.

"Quiet!" A deep voice reverberated within the gymnasium. The people looked at the source of the voice but saw nobody. It was then that they realized that the voice seem to come from the gymnasium itself. Nobody dared to speak nor move out of fear. "Bring me the son of the Councillor."

Two thugs escorted the son of the Councillor towards a room. Below the room, Haeckel saw the Second, Third and Fifth Brothers who were busy laughing and fondling with women. There were two other people who looked similar to them and was doing the same with their women. Shizuka was among the women but strangely, the Brothers did not touch her.

"Which Councillor is your father?" The deep voice echoed once again.

"Councillor Masako is my Father! We're rich and have a lot of people at our disposal. If you let me go, I promise to talk to my father so that he could send you more men. If you have more men, your little ragtag group of thugs will become larger and more powerful!"

"I will also promise you women! You like women right? We've got plenty of those and you can even choose from the actresses if you want. They are much more - wait, wait! What are you doing? I'm the son of Councillor Masako. Wait! No! Stop that! Nooooo-"

The voice was cut abruptly. A severely dismembered body flew from the room and dropped in the middle of the prisoners. The people inside the court felt their bloods being drained. The agonized shriek of the young man was enough to quell them into silence. The dismembered body was enough to make them fear for their lives.

Haeckel heard the man behind him gulp their saliva. This man was the man who shouted "I'm your father" awhile ago.
