9 Chapter Eigh

Rebecca Greene is a half Filipina and half British. Her father is a fine businessman in London, while her mother is former teacher who went to London to become a governess Then, her mother met his father, and so they got married.

Her mother went home to Manila and has her own business, a clothing shop for men and women. Minsan naman yung Dad niya ay pumupunta rin sa Manila to see them. It is not possible for him to leave his business in London.

A door of opportunity has opened to Rebecca to study in a finest boarding school in London as a scholar, with a good recommendation from her school and relatives on father's side. But, she took this opportunity for granted when she got heartbroken. She became drunk and started to skip classes until the school decided to expel her. Kaya heto, balik ulit siya sa Pinas!

She is just sixteen, and would be a senior high school student this semester in her former school in Manila. Pinakiusapan na lang kasi ng mommy niya ang principal na tangapin ang anak niya maski expelled na sa dating boarding school na pinasukan.

It is still summer... May panahon pa siya mag-recollect at maglabas ng sama ng loob sa ex-boyfriend niyang si William Allie Snapes, the half-Filipino and half American niyang three years boyfriend. She'd just found out from the viral video that William invited her bestfriend, Erin Brits, to be his date in JS Prom. Of course, she got upset. It is her bestfriend, right? Sayang talaga ang pagkakaibigan nila!

Two Days Before The Opening of the School

Erin Brits went to the mall with her boyfriend, William Allie Snapes. Hindi rin sinasadya, nandun din si Rebecca Greene. As usual, hindi nagpasinan ang dalawa, but William greeted Rebecca, "Hello there, Rebecca?"

And, Rebecca just grinned at him. Then, she walked away.

Erin is so mad. She scolded her boyfriend, "Why do you need to greet her?"

"She is a friend? Why not?" replied William.

"Ugh! She is my former friend. We are no longer friends. That means, you two are no longer friends either." reklamo ni Erin.

"She is the one who broke up with me. But, I told her that we could still remain friends." paliwanag naman ni William.

Hindi mawari ni Erin kung nagtatanga-tangahan lang ba ang boyfriend niya o baka naman may naitatago pa itong pagtingin sa kanya. So, she decided to ignore the issue and invited her boyfriend to dine in a Korean restaurant.

Then, William noticed a girl named Issa. Yes, it is Issa dela Rosa, who dined in with her step - mother, Agatha, at the Korean restaurant. It seems that he is attracted to Issa but he'd just keep it to himself.

When Issa and her step-mother finished their meal. Agatha paid the bills, and they left. Then, Erin finally noticed that he is not paying attention what she is saying because he was looking at Issa.

She scolded him, "Ano ka ba? Kanina pa ako kuwento ng kuwento dito? Hindi ka nakikinig? What's wrong with you?"

At nagulat naman itong si William. He said, "Huh? Ang boring naman kasi yung kinukwento mo. Kumain na lang kasi tayo."

And, Erin got upset, "Wait? Are you still in love with me? Aba, hindi puwede yung ganito? Porket bumalik na sa Pilipinas itong si Rebecca, bumaling na yung attention mo sa kanya. Ayaw ko ng ganun? If you are in love with me, patunayan mo. Hindi lang ituturing mo akong second option!"

Nagpaliwanag naman itong si William, "Of course, I love you, Sweetheart. Nasorpresa lang ako na bumalik si Rebecca sa Pilipinas. But, I hope that you are happy that she is back. After what happened, she is still your bestfriend."

At ito naman si Erin, inis na inis sa commento ni William na gusto niya batukan dahil hindi niya mawari kung ano ang gusto nitong ipahiwatig, "Matapos niya ako pinagmumura sa phone nung nalaman ka-date kita sa JS Prom, tapos sasabihin mo, she is still my bestfriend. Magisip ka nga!"

"That's Rebecca. If she is mad, she will show it to you. Galit din naman siya sa akin. Pero, kahit papaano, nung binati ko siya kanina, nginitian niya ako. Let's move on." sabi naman ni William.

"Move on? Sinabi mo yan ha?" sabi pa ni Erin na may pagdududa sa iniisip at kinikilos ng boyfriend niya.

It is two days before the school opening, at kailangan niya paghandaan iyon. Iniisip niya kung magtutuos pa sila ni Rebecca sa school dahil bitter pa ito sa break up niya with William. And, she will do everything by all means to keep their relationship.

The Night Before The School Opening

Rebecca decided not to go out tonight even though she is tempted to. She received lots of invites from her friends to the gigs. But, she declined their invitation. She looked at herself at the mirror. She realized how mess her life is. But, when she remembered what her boyfriend did to her, she started to burst into tears.

A few minutes later, she stopped crying. Na-realized din niya na wala na rin siyang magagawa kung pinagpalit na siya ng boyfriend niya sa ibang babae.

Then, she received a text message again, it's her friend, Xander. She is invited in a birthday party. So, she finally let go of herself and decided to attend to that party. She checked first her closet if she has a decent dress to wear, then put a light make-up.

She went downstairs and told her mom that she will be attending a birthday party. Then, she drove herself to the venue.

The party is in Taguig, where the venue is at the rooftop of condominium building. The ambiance is cool and hip. And, she met a few girlfriends there, then she mingled with them.

They took their photos and posted them in Instagram. Rebecca enjoyed the night, but she decided not to drink too much. She'd just enjoyed the music and the company of her old friends. And so, she is now able to get over her issues with her boyfriends. After all, it is the start of the school day. There will be lots of opportunity for her.

It is past eleven, so she decided to go home. She said goodbye to her old friends.

When she got home, she received some text messages, from her old friends who wished her good luck and encourage her to get over with William. And she told herself, "This is it! I will get even with that asshole."
