7 The Weekend!

Soon it was weekend.

The event for which Ms. Rhodes asked the students for helping out was a communal charity event. The things obtained through this event were to be distributed nearby towns and a pair of students were assigned to do so. Mia was paired with Axl, a junior and the place they were supposed to deliver was a rather remote area.

As Rachel went away with her parents she left her car with Mia for her to use it. It was Sunday morning when Mia got a call from Axl ; he informed her that he has got a flu and was unable to go with her but he also asked her if she wants him to send over a friend who can accompany her.

Mia thought it was nice of him to suggest this but she didn't find this job hard as she just has to go and deliver a few boxes so she politely declined & told him to take care of himself.

.

.

For many people doing something alone was rather boring or troublesome but for Mia she was way too happy to work alone that's why she was so relaxed to go alone.

.

.

.

On her way to the town she got a call from Mark,

"Hey! Where are you?"

"I'm on my way to community centre at S town. Why're you asking?"

"Just wondering if you'd like to go to that party with me that I told you about..."

"I already said I'm not going plus I might get late too."

"Fine! But if you change your mind just call me OK?"

"Ok..."

"And also that's such a lonely town you're heading to, so be careful, there were a few incidents that happened recently so try to get out of there as soon as you can. Don't hang around too late."

"Hmm alright" said Mia smiling & hung up. She had noticed that Mark was really a nice guy and was so good towards her like a protective brother. He was a great friend one could get, no wonder Lucas shares such a strong bond with him and values him like his own brother.

.

After 2 hours drive Mia reached the community centre. This town was situated in a very remote place and didn't had much of a population. Also the area where the community centre was also very secluded and afar from the populated area. At first sight one might think that they've entered some kind of creepy place with dark alleys and partially ruined old buildings.

.

.

Mia entered the centre and delivered the boxes she'd brought. The lady who received them was in mid forties or something and was really gentle. She asked Mia to have lunch in their cafeteria and to rest a bit as she might be tired after the drive. Mia was indeed feeling tired so she accepted and after having lunch she rested for an hour & half at the resting lounge of community centre.

.

.

After resting for a while Mia felt refreshed and got in the car to drive back home. She just crossed a few streets when suddenly her car stopped. Like dead-stop!

No matter how many times she tried the car won't start. She looked around and saw nothing but empty streets. She was still thinking about how to get help when suddenly her phone rang.

.

"Are you on your way home?"

It was Mark. Seeing that it was quite a few hours since he last talked to Mia and probably she might've been done by now he called to ask.

"I was but the car died and it just won't start and there is no one around to ask help from" Mia sighed.

"Do you want me to pick you up?"

"It's 2 hour drive here it'll be too late if you come now. It might probably start pouring soon so, don't worry I'll somehow manage."

"Uhh okay but I think I know someone who might come of help. He lives in the neighbor town so just send me your location if he's around I'll ask him to go to you."

"Okay then I'll send it now, in the meantime I'll also see if I can get a cab or something."

"Alright you do that and if there's anything call me." Then he hung up.

Mia sent her location to Mark. While she was waiting she saw a cab and signalled to stop it but as it came closer she saw that it wasn't available. After a little while she got a text from Mark informing her that his friend he mentioned earlier Joey will come pick her up but it'll take about an hour for him to arrive.

Mia replied quickly to him that she'll wait for Joey as she couldn't get a cab.

Mark sent her a picture and contact number of Joey and told her to be careful.

Mia then got in her car and locked the doors and waited for Joey patiently. She closed her eyes and leaned back on her seat. The weather today was a bit gloomy as it was predicted to rain heavily.

.

.

.

A while later a knock was heard on the window of driver's seat and Mia opened her eyes. She saw a car stopped infront of hers and a guy standing outside but couldn't see his face as he was standing straight not leaning down her window.

.

.

She thought it might be Joey who came to get her so she got off the car but was soon surprised to see who it was standing infront of her.
