Chapter 86: That Man’s Written Order Part Three

Yang Kai, King of Xu State, was the Emperor’s cousin, and he was a little more than 30 years old. He looked energetic for his age. His father was the previous emperor’s sixth brother, Royal King Long, and he had died due to an illness. Yang Kai wasn’t his father’s elder son, so he didn’t get to inherit the royal king title. His elder brother who got to inherit the title loved going to the pleasure quarters and died three years ago of an unspeakable sickness.

Idle kings like them all had one thing in common; they never got close to the government. They would rather be idle to cultivate flowers and play with birds.

The kings in the Capital, including Yang Yin, the only royal king in the city, all appeared charismatic and knowledgeable, and they were great at zither, chess, calligraphy, and painting. They had a ton of time to do things, and they could learn whatever they wanted. Since they were members of the Royal Clan, they had to be great at what they did.

Yang Kai, King of Xu State, quickly walked over and grabbed onto Huai Qiugong’s hand before laughing, “How come you are here for fun at this age? If you fall on the stairs, you won’t be able to get up. People say that you are clear-minded and have no desires, but it seems like you still want to see the Dance of Flowing Flower and Water Sleeves.”

Huai Qiugong laughed and said while walking, “You are still great at insults; only an old man like me can bear your insults. On this note, if it isn’t for the Dance of Flowing Flower and Water Sleeves, would you be here this early?”

“You say that I’m great at insulting others, but you are the same!” Yang Kai cursed with a smile and asked while pointing at Wu Yidao, “Senior Huai, do you know this person?”

Huai Qiugong smiled and said, “He is the famous Gold-Sharing Duke of Great Sui; who doesn’t know him?”

Wu Yidao quickly bowed at Huai Qiugong as a junior, and Huai Qiugong accepted this gesture. This made Wu Yidao extremely happy. After all, Senior Huai was known for his coldness; he would mock most of the people who wanted to flatter him. Since he accepted Wu Yidao’s bow, it meant that he acknowledged him and wouldn’t mind interacting with him.

In the political circle, a small gesture would contain a ton of information in most cases.

Xi Huamei walked into the building with these people, looking confident and grand.

When they were about to enter the building, Huai Qiugong suddenly paused for a moment and pointed at two servants who were standing by the gate in uniforms. He said with a smile, “Beckon of the Red Sleeve is even more delicate than before. These two servants are even this good-looking. If they change into fancy clothes, many girls in Chang’an would dream of them.”

One of the two servants got shy and lowered his head.

Huai Qiugong laughed and said, “Interesting; so shy.”

Then, he got close to Yang Kai and whispered, “You like this kind of stuff. Should you beg Ms. Xi to give these two servants to you?”

Yang Kai blushed and coughed to hide his embarrassment.

When Wu Yidao saw these two servants, confusion flashed in his eyes, and he nodded unnoticeably. Then, he walked in with everyone else. A servant slightly nodded back at him and quickly turned his head away.

“Sister Xiaoyao, you look great in men’s clothes,” this servant said to the other servant beside him.

“I will cut your tongue if you say anything more.”

While these two servants murmured among themselves, they didn’t notice a cold and gloomy glance that targeted Fang Jie.

Three handsome young men in fancy clothes stood on the other side of the street and praised as they watched this grand opening.

Jin Ao pointed at the wooden building across the street and laughed, “People always said that when Beckon of the Red Sleeve opened about 11 years ago, 80 percent of the big officials came as guests. Seeing this scene today, I know that they weren’t lying. Let’s go in and check it out.”

Li Fubo nodded, appearing as cold as always.

These two walked a few steps forward and noticed that Luo Wen didn’t follow them. They turned their heads and asked, “What is going on? Gongzi Luo?”

Luo Wen moved his eyes away from that servant and quickly replied with a smile, “I suddenly feel like I’m not qualified enough to be here. Look at those big figures. Even King of Xu State and Senior Huai are here; who knows if more important people are going to come.”

At this moment, someone suddenly announced in a loud voice at one end of the street, “Royal King Yi has arrived!”

Royal King Yi!

Hearing this name, all the expressions of guests and residents in the area changed.

Xi Huamei’s expression also froze, but the smile quickly reappeared on her face. “Misters, why don’t we go and welcome Royal King Yi His Highness together?”

Everyone nodded and walked out, but their expressions all looked strange.

About ten years ago, it was Royal King Yi who sealed Beckon of the Red Sleeve with a written order.
