Chapter 17: A Pair of Scissors Part Two

Mu Two who was standing still on the side smiled. “She looks alright. We can keep her.”

Mu One nodded and said, “Me first or you first?”

Mu Two made an inviting gesture and said, “You are the big brother, so you first. But don’t torture her half-dead before passing her to me like last time. Although I don’t mind, you have to think about our third brother. We eat, drink, and sleep with women together since we were little. After you are done with a woman, she would be half-dead. All these years, Third Brother had been doing corpses. I would have puked.”

“Last time?” Mu One frowned and finally recalled. “The daughter of that general who was corrupt? She was pretty, but she was an ordinary woman, so she was weak. She passed out after I did her for two hours, and then you did her for two hours. Third Brother could only do a corpse. But you were more to blame. I only destroy a woman’s facial features when I do them, but you like to skin them. When it is Third Brother’s turn… it is indeed disgusting.”

“This time, I won’t skin her, and you don’t poke her eyes and cut her nose. We need to let Third Brother see what a woman looks like when wearing nothing,” Mu Two said.

“Ok.” Mu One nodded and looked at Mu Xiaoyao before saying, “You are lucky.”

After the bugle sounded, the well-trained elite soldiers of Great Sui gathered. Under the command of captains, sergeants, and corporals, everyone went into the formation. However, Li Xiaozong didn’t appear.

This wasn’t ordinary. Before, Li Xiaozong was always the first to appear.

“What should we do?” someone asked.

“Should we wait?”

“No!” Captain Qu Feng who was the most senior said after thinking for a bit, “Perhaps General can’t be here due to some important issues. The sound of bugle is a military command. If there is an urgent matter, a huge catastrophe might appear if we arrive late. Half of us wait for General Li, and the other half will go to where the bugle sounded.”

Everyone agreed. Half of them stayed in the training ground, and Qu Feng and a few other captains rushed toward the west gate of the city. The wide street outside the encampment led to the west gate, and they would arrive in less than ten minutes.

However, they were blocked off half-way by Li Xiaozong.

[TL Note: General is a respectful way of addressing military commanders in ancient China, but their official ranks such as captain and major were different.]

“The people from the Capital are doing their work and arresting a person. It is none of our business. Go back and sleep; don’t come out unless I issue the order,” Li Xiaozong said with displeasure, “The officials from the Court of Judicial Review blew the bugle; they don’t know the rules. I already checked out the situation; we don’t need to get involved. I told them the rules and asked them not to touch our stuff.”

“Arresting who?” Qu Feng couldn’t help but ask.

“Don’t ask about things that you shouldn’t know,” Li Xiaozong replied impatiently before walking toward the west gate.

Qu Feng and others looked at each other in confusion before walking back. Even though they were perplexed by Li Xiaozong’s order, they couldn’t go against it. The group of hundreds of soldiers quickly went back, leaving the street empty and quiet.

Seeing that the soldiers had gone back, Li Xiaozong smiled helplessly and asked, “They are all back. Am I obedient enough?”

A figure walked out of a dark alley. Under the illumination of the moonlight, others could see her simple blue floral cotton jacket. She was holding a bag, and vapor was coming out of it.

All women looked unique under the moonlight. Since this woman was pretty to begin with, she looked gorgeous even though her clothes were simple.
