202 Battle of Gods
Four beams of energy were fired from the giant Serratas. Allen didn't know what to do, so he did exactly the first thing that came to his mind.
He launched himself from the ground and used the Blood Scythe to block the attacks. His body couldn't make it, but he felt something cold and soothing all around his body.
"Nature's Shower!" Gwen casted. "Don't just attack on your own. What the heck."
The four Serratas were taken down in a blink of an eye. The three Goddesses were the ones who defeated them without even breaking a single sweat.
"Sisters," March sighed. "Why must you intefere?"
"You have abused the power of your Celestum, brother," Persephone said. "You did not even adapt to the name of your Code."
"My Code is not me," March said. "I am March, not Hades."
"I wish you wouldn't have been so stubborn," Persephone sighed. She conjured four vines from the ground and each of them targeted March's limbs. "We will take you to Zeus and you shall be judged by him."
"Alright," March grinned. "If you can catch me."
In a blink of an eye, March vanished from sight. The Goddesses groaned after his body turned to ash, leaving nothing even his aura.
"He escaped again," one of the Goddesses said. "Should we tell Zeus?"
"Alright," Persephone said. They were about to leave when Allen called out for them.
"Hey," Allen yelled. "What about these Serratas? Your brother brought them to us, so it's still your responsibility to clean this mess."
Persephone narrowed her eyes and sighed. She snapped her finger and instantly, thorns grew from the ground and pierced all the Serratas. This killed every single one of them, leaving no Serrata alive.
"Wow," Allen gasped. "But, will you return to help us when March decides to come again?"
"That is our duty, so we will," Persephone said and instantly vanished along with the other two Goddesses.
Allen turned to look at his friends and smiled when he saw them alive and well. "I'm glad that everyone's safe."
"But what happened to Sebastian and the others?" Gwen asked. "Are they okay?"
"Persephone wiped out all of the Serratas," Gary pointed out. "They should be fine."
"Then we just have to wait for them here," Allen said. "And let's discuss what just happened. There's a rebel God. It seems like he's siding with the Zodiacs."
"He was specifically targeting you," Jeremy said. "You didn't piss the God off, did you?"
"Of course not," Allen denied. "I didn't even know him, nor have I any intersections with him before."
"Then why was he so mad?" Gary asked. "He was grinning, he was laughing, but his aura couldn't lie. His aura was pulsing through his veins and he wanted to kill someone. He wanted blood to be spilled."
"But why me?" Allen asked. "I don't even know him."
A couple of minutes had passed, and Sebastian arrived. He was alone now. "Is everyone alright? I heard that there was an explosion here and a fight broke trough."
"One of the attackers is a God and he's a henchman of Roger Huntsman," Allen said. "Or at least he pretends to be close to Roger Huntsman."
"The sleeping one?" Sebastian asked. "I knew it. I felt his blood boiling from underneath his skin. I could also make out that the faint snore that he had were all fake. But I didn't realize it was that bad."
"His Code's name is Hades," Allen said. "And three more Gods came here to arrest him, but he escaped."
"Then that God must be strong," Sebastian said. "From now on, you shall never leave my side. You just have to stay with me until the coast is cleared and I can make sure that you're all safe."
"Alright," Allen agreed. "Then we won't leave your side."
A protection from Sebastian was what they needed right now. The man was capable of casting high grade skillls that would aid them greatly in their battles. If Sebastian was here earlier when they fought March, the battle would be on their side undoubtedly.
"Alright," Sebastian nodded. "Now let's go somewhere. We have another agenda coming up."
"Agenda?" Allen asked. "What happened?"
"Louis's body," Sebastian said. "It was stolen."
–
In the cemetery back in Haven where Louis requested his body to be buried, a giant rat statue was placed. But on the rat statue that stood on a stone platform, there was a huge hole.
"What happened?" Allen asked, leaning to peek at the hole. "This is where Louis's body was?"
"Yes, but as you can see, it was stolen," Sebastian said. "This happened when the Serratas and March attacked. Everyone was so busy after hearing that a camp from Paradise was attacked yet again, that they didn't notice the body being taken."
"But what do they need the body for?" Gwen asked. "The Code would leave the body, right? The killer would receive the Code or it tries to seek the nearest Hunter. Louis died a couple of days ago, why do they need his body?"
"That's the question no one knows the answer to," a female voice spoke from behind them. It was Lin herself. She was carrying a bouquet of flowers and placed it by the grave. "I don't even know why they need his body, but I just hope they take care of it."
There was silence in the air when Lin appeared. Awkwardness was seeping through everyone's spine and an uncomfortable atmosphere was looming over them.
Lin placed the bouquet on the bodiless grave. "Louis, wherever you are. I hope you achieve peace."
Allen wanted to speak something, but couldn't say it. He glanced at Sebastian who was facing him, the man seemingly having something to say to him.
"Allen, right?" Lin asked, making everyone turn to her. Allen still hasn't revealed his true identity to everyone except for his closest allies. "I want you to help me."
"But Lin–"
"Lewis Nixon told me something," Lin cut Allen off. "He said that you may look weak and fragile, but deep down, you always wanted to help. That you were reliable in every little aspect."
"Why did Lewis tell you that?" Allen asked. "He didn't know that I was alive."
"This was when he begged me to help them," Lin said. "Your friends kneeled in front of me, them, Kyle, Selena, and Irene. Then Lewis spoke. He said everything about you, as if he was observing you from afar. He saw you as a brother that he always have."
"But–"
"This time, Allen," Lin cut him off again. "Help me. Lewis's words said that you're reliable, do you want to prove him wrong?"
"He didn't need to prove anything to you," Selena spoke this time. Everyone was shocked after hearing her raise her voice when she was usually calm. "And how dare you bring up our dead friend like some kind of threat to make us believe you?"
"I don't need to tell you anything," Lin said. "This will be your price for me helping you before."
"Okay," Allen said. "But after this, we don't owe you anything anymore."
"Agreed," Lin said. "This will be the last time that we'll get to see each other."
