196 Allen & Kyle vs Serrata & Cloaked Figure
A man swiped Allen away from the danger. The boy gasped after seeing that it was Kyle.
"What are you doing here?" Allen gasped.
"You were gone for four days," Kyle replied. "Of course, everyone was worried."
"Four days?" Allen asked.
Kyle put him down and tapped on his shoulders. "I'll explaine everything later. For now, we have to defeat these guys."
"Alright," Allen said. "Let's do this."
Kyle equipped his sword while Allen raised both of his weapons. The former was impressed after seeing Allen wield two different weapons.
"You really are something," Kyle chuckled. "No wonder why Bernard is fond of you."
They launched themselves at their enemies without speaking anymore. They silently agreed that they would talk about everything after this fight was over, so for now they have to finish their enemies first.
Kyle was a good fighter, even back then when Allen didn't receive the Snake's Blessing yet. Kyle was always beside Lewis on the front lines while they fight creatures.
"Menacing Rage!" Kyle cast a skill Code onto himself and vanished. He reappeared right above the cloaked man and slashed his sword more times than Allen could count in just a second.
"Wow," Allen was speechless after Kyle attacked the cloaked man. However, the cloaked man raised his head and blocked the attack by creating a dome of energy around him.
All the slashes from Kyle were rendered useless against him, making the man step a few steps back. "He can attack and defend at the same time. This is interesting."
Shriek!
Allen was so occupied with Kyle that he didn't realize that the Serrata was right in front of him. He rolled his body to the right in order to dodge the greatsword that the Serrata was hacking at him.
Splash!
The cement floor of the rooftop they were in was like water by the splash the Serrata just launched at it. Allen gulped when he saw the Serrata coming for another attack.
"Were you this strong before?" Allen scoffed. He then saw a bright yellow symbol right on the Serrata's forehead. It was then that he noticed the steaks of yellow light all over the Serrata's body. "This is ridiculous. Someone just gave you a buff."
The Serrata shrieked while it continuously attacked Allen. The boy kept on dodging the attacks since it got slower than before. The increase in poser must have slowed down the Serrata by a noticeable amount.
"I bet you're tough too, right?" Allen leaped off of the ground and swing his glaive forward. The blade of his weapon reached the Serrata's head, but it didn't slash through it. "I was right. Your defense was also increased."
Allen jumped back. He kept his glaive back in his Inventory while keeping the Golden Rust in his hands. "Time to stack some damage then."
The boy used three Codes at once so he could move in flashes. Speed is where he overpowers this Serrata, so he was going to utilize that. His stacks also needed to be higher in order for him to successfully damage the creature.
Clank!
Allen landed his first attack, earning him his first stack. He sighed and continued attacking, even when his damage output couldn't match the Serrata's.
In this approach to the problem, Allen needed to be patient. Rushing things would not lead him to victory, so he must be careful and keep the pace rolling even when he feels like he's not doing anything.
"Troublesome b*tch," Kyle groaned when he found himself being chased by the cloaked man. He was now running for his life while a rain of attacks followed him. "When I get my chance, I will rip you to pieces. Hey!"
He barely managed to dodge an attack and even almost lost his balance. Luckily, Kyle was experienced in fighting in long range, that was why he could handle this situation better.
He moved behind an empty water tank when he got an idea. He then ran to where Allen was. "Hey!"
"What?" Allen asked while he continued to slash the Serrata's body with his rapier. "I'm kinda busy here. I'm also almost done, so if you could wait even just a minute please."
Kyle groaned and decided to take matters into his own hand. While Allen was busy with their enemy, Kyle kept on leading the cloaked figure around. He didn't have to worry about his stamina because he has plenty of it. He doesn't get tired easily even when after he does something as vigorous as being chased by ten hungry lions.
"Hey!" Kyle yelled. "Tell me whenever you're almost done."
"Okay, fine," Allen replied then continued to where he left off, gaining stacks.
The cloaked figure continued to follow Kyle, firing another ball of energy at him. As they ran around, Kyle heard a familiar call.
"Hey!" Allen yelled. "I'm almost going to finish here. What's your plan?"
"Just trust me," Kyle said. The cloaked figure managed to catch up to him, making his eyes widennin shock. The cloaked figure raised its palm and fired the energy ball.
This time, Kyle positioned himself like a baseball player. He took a deeb breath before swinging his sword as the ball reached him. It swerved right on the metal and was redirected.
"Hiya!" Allen just launched his final attack when he saw something approach him. "What the–"
A ball of energy was fired at the Serrata. It exploded as it reached the skin, making Allen get blown away by the impact. It was a good thing that Kyle caught him before he could crash to the ground.
"You didn't tell me that that was your plan!" Allen growled. "What if I didn't notice it and get shot instead?"
"The thing is, you didn't," Kyle dismissed. "Besides, I had a faint idea of what was going to happen when one of those balls of energy would hit you. You'd explode."
They heard a rustling sound from the explosion, making the boys groan in frustration. "It's still alive? Kyle, you said your plan works?"
"I never did," Kyle said. They both stood as they prepared for a fight when the Serrata launched itself from the ground and went straight to the cloaked figure.
"No!" the cloaked figure yelled in fear. "I'm your boss. No!"
It was there that the Serrata showed its gruesome true form as it mauled the cloaked man.
"What are you doing here?" Allen gasped.
