Yan Sha was floating when she opened her eyes There were bubbles issuing from her mouth as she breathed out and she saw a surface that was above her which she swam towards and as she went through it she coughed out the water that was logged in her throat. She was wearing clean white clothes which dried as soon as she made contact with the air.
She saw a beach ahead and landed.
She could see smoke and smell cooking meat ahead of her. A drum beat ominously as she leaned against a palm tree to wring all of the water out of her hair. The land was an island floating in an endless sea tinged with smoldering pin hues. It was like the calming rose scented bathwater that Langhua would bathe her in, but a whole ocean of it.
She took one last look at it, before turning into the foliage and going forth. The forest was so dense that she could not make much sense of where she was going. She was led by her nose, the smell of the smoke and cooking meat making her stomach rumble. There were spikes in some of the plants that would cause rips in her clothing so she would walk gingerly.
But as she got to the clearing where the smelling was eminating from, she stopped. There was a beautiful woman cooking meat alone in the clearing. There was a crown on her head and her body was inhumanely beautiful. Her eyes were a beautiful luminous light blue that glowed when her eyes meet Yan Sha's.
"Little human, you can come out now . . . you don't have to hide? I won't hurt you this time." She said this in almost a hiss as she put some of the meat on a wooden bowl. "I promise."
Yan Sha didn't trust her a bit, but knew she was not really of much choice as she had already been scene. Yan Sha walked into the light. And the woman's dress simmered strangely as she waited for the move that Yan Sha would make. It was like a snake waiting to strike. As she got closer, Yan Sha could see that her face was the same inhuman beauty that she had felt from far away. There was no way she could be a real person.
"I see you've realized my identity." Her voice sounded like it wasn't coming from her body like it was coming from everything around her.
Yan Sha took the plate from her and sat down on the rocks that had been arranged as seating. She crossed her legs and ate the meat slowly. It was some type of waterfowl and was made well. She finished eating before she spoke, "You're a goddess."
