41 Hand

The silence was unbearable.

Fan Ying stood before his own daughter, as if she were a criminal. He faced her full of animosity and dislike.

Just by looking at his body language one could tell that he really disliked even seeing Fan Daiyu much less knowing she was alive.

They stare at each other. Fan Daiyu only revealed contempt and disdain as her heart broke to pieces and Fan Ying revealed dislike as he cursed her deep within his heart.

Soon enough Fan Ying spoke up, "I don't have a daughter anymore. She died four years ago."

His cold eyes stared deeply into her trying to rip her apart with his glare.

Fan Daiyu burst into laughter.

It was a heart-breaking laugh. It was full of disdain and yet obvious sorrow. No matter how much she tried to hide it her act was bound to collapse at some point. Her eyes were wet as tears mercilessly fell down her face.

"Father I believe you when you said I was your blood. I was your born love. I was your new beginning.

I believed you when you said you would protect me. I believed you when you said you would love me. I gave you the chance to enter my broken heart. I gave you the chance to heal it but instead you only wanted to damage me more.

I loved you Papa.

I wanted you to be proud of me so I worked hard. I worked hard to become the best daughter I could be. I cultivated hard for you and mother. I wanted to elevate your names with my fame. I wanted us to be a loving family but you didn't want that."

Fan Ying felt a pang of guilt. She had done it all for them but that had caused his hate. But… it was too late to go back now. They couldn't make up for everything that had happened.

"Daiyu leave! This isn't your home anymo-"

"SHUT UP! LET ME AT LEAST VENT OUT!"

Her face revealed all her pent up frustration, anger, and sorrow. Seeing such a face was painful for everyone except Fan Melaina. She rejoiced at the view before her without knowing that every expression she made was another dagger to Daiyu's heart.

"You father! Dearest father! You caused me so much pain. You made everything within me change. You threw me into despair when I was so unprepared to face the darkness and knowledge of my mother's death. I begged you not to throw me into that tomb! I CRIED AND KNEELED AT THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT DOOR! I SCREAMED OUT TO YOU DADDY! I CANT BELIEVE HOW NAÏVE I WAS TO EVEN CALL YOU IN SUCH A LOVING WAY WHEN DEEP IN MY HEART I KNEW MY LOVE WOULD NEVER BE RETURNED! YOU ABANDONED ME! YOU LEFT ME INSIDE A TOMB WITH MY MOTHER'S CORPSE! YOU INJURED ME PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, AND EMOTIONALLY! YOU ARE THE WORST FATHER EVER!"

Her voice cracked as she cried and chocked on her screams. She screamed out everything leaving no room for interruption. Their past was revealed in front of multitudes and the reputation he had worked so hard to build, create, and elevate was ruined by her.

Everything he had worked so hard to create was destroyed in a matter of seconds.

He hated her. She ruined him. He should have made sure of her death the day Yenay had died.

In his angry state, he disregarded all face he had left and decided to kill her once and for all. What else was left of his reputation now?

He approached her in a matter of seconds but he failed to see the suppressing aura emanating from her. She was already a level higher than he was. It was too late to even think of killing her at such a level.

His beginner tyro embracement cultivation was pun y compared to hers. Each level contained a vast difference in strength as one grew stronger, so it was no surprise to her when she stopped her father's attack towards her.

He had used all his strength in his punch to hit her and make a one kill hit but as soon as it neared her face her hand stopped it.

That seemingly brutal punch seemed to suddenly contain no power behind it as a small hand held it back and twisted his wrist in a painful angle.

Fan Daiyu held her Fan Ying's wrist and swung him to the ground. He landed kneeling before her as if asking for forgiveness and kowtowing in shame. At least that's how it looked to the crowd.

They all exclaimed at everything that had happened.

"The general seemed like such a good man but now I know what it means when people say not to judge a book by it's cover."

"*sigh* He finally shows shame. The guilt is probably eating him alive now that his daughter is in front of him."

"I can't believe our godly figure is such a cruel person!"

"I can't either. I am through fully disappointed. I will NEVER look up to him again!"

As shame burned Fan Ying's face realization also hit him. She was stronger than he was. She was a genius above geniuses.

She overshadowed him too much but if she grew to greater heights, he would have also been known outside of this small kingdom.

But it was already too late to go back, too late to regret.

O the other hand Long Wei saw everything clearly. This girl of his was advancing too quickly. He needed to grow stronger to be her wall.

"Father I didn't come for you or anything you have. I came for everything I left here when I was lost within the tomb. I came for my loved ones and some of my things."

Without asking for permission, she entered the place she once used to call home.

He mother had been with her through tough times here along with her father before his change. Everything was once happier but nothing stays the same. The once peaceful beautiful home was now chaotic, dark, and busily irritating. There were maids everywhere. She when to her old room and everything seemed untouched. Everything was the same except for her letters. No one had ever seen them. They were written in the most sensitive time of her life. It was for the twins after their mother had died. She wrote on about how happy she was about their births despite her sorrow at the thought of her mother's death. She told them about everything she had been through and how their mother used to be. She even drew a picture of Nuwa Yenay in one of the papers. She told them everything she could that didn't reveal too much about her. There were so many letters but they all seemed to have been opened except for three.

During the three days of her mourning her mother's death she had spent all her time drowning herself in these letters. Now thinking back on it she was glad she did it. At least someone knew what she was going through.

She took everything she wanted. She took the book her mother would read to her, her mother's favorite things for her like toys and hairpins as well as a secret photo she had of her. She had drawn this herself millions of times but was only satisfied with three. One was in the letters, the other she had given to her parents, and the last one was the one in her hands at the moment.

She took her mother's jewelry and rings, which were always hidden from her father's eyes for some reason.

She used her void ring to keep everything but as she turned to pick up the letters she had made, a small hand appeared before her, grabbing onto the box.
