37 Where were you?

It was HUGE.

She was so amazed by it that she didn't notice the changes in her body. Her shoulder length hair had grown to reach her waist and she had grown several inches. Even her small black robe had transformed into a white pure flowy robe. She had morphed into a young beauty in the time that had passed. It had taken four years to finish the story from the tunnel. Time went much faster inside than outside but she had no idea. The previous Daiyu wanted her life to end faster after giving up her immortality so she made it so. The two-year-old girl was now six and no one knew of her whereabouts. What had seemed like a few days became a few years. However, she was too distracted to notice.

The room looked so big and it was filled with lifeless soldiers protecting each of the vaults. All the vaults that had once been open like in the vision were now completely closed and protected by barriers and soldiers. The only visible skeleton in view was one in a throne. It's once upon beauty was now gone and the flesh that was once there was now nothing but dust. However, even so the posture, elegance, and pressure was still there. The skeleton was old but strong and tall. It was laid back against the golden throne in laziness and the silver hair that had never disappeared made it seem deadly but elegant. The crown on the skull made it seem royal and above others but even in all its magnificence it still gave out the feelings of the person before death.

Immense sorrow.

Immense love.

Immense lament.

And tiredness. So much tiredness.

[All she did was follow her heart. But she fell down. She fell apart. She fell into the dark. She tried to move on but they took her weak spot. She was threatened. She was pushed to a corner. She was surrounded. And still… she rose. She fought. She won and she disappeared from the worlds eyes. She locked herself away waiting… waiting… waiting for hope… for the future… for love… for me.]

[She was me.]

[I was fated to this because of myself. Because of my past mistakes. I suffered. It was karma but… That was her. She is me and I am her but still… we are different. I'm different from her so why is it so? Why am I being controlled by her mistakes? She created my fate so that means I can create my own. All I have to do is finish this one.]

Fan Daiyu looked at the throne. Slowly, step-by-step, she inched closer to it. It was her. The small girl reached out to it. The moment in which her hand touched the bone fingers, everything glowed white. The bones shrunk and merged into her body but the result of it was implausible pain. Her body tensed and sweat beads formed on her forehead. Several minutes passed by until her body had fully adjusted to the light. Her eyes that were shut tightly relaxed but didn't open. She sat down and cultivated.

She had just gained an immense amount of power that would take years to digest. She had flashes of memories added to her own and skills packed up one after the other but she couldn't take it all so she stored it for a later time.

She broke through three times successively before breaking through again. She became an intermediate tyro embracement cultivator. However, the successive breakthroughs had caused her power to become unstable along with her strong foundation. She stabilized her inner turmoil for an hour before opening her eyes again.

Everything about her was different. Her eyes had a cunning light and contained a lot of intelligence. She seemed to have grown a lot in the span of an hour. Her mind was calm and she began to analyze everything. There were no inscribed letters or paragraphs. The only thing she could see was the crown left behind. It was golden and contained clear crystals but the most peculiar thing about it was the blood red jewel surrounded by black diamonds and a small dragon resting at its base.

It reminded her of the necklace Long Wei had given her. Thinking about him she couldn't help but smile. Unbeknownst to her, Ercan looked at her loving, warm smile in awe.

{She has fallen so deep and she doesn't even realize it.}

He watched as she took the crown but failed to see how it cut her. As soon as her blood oozed out and her skin began to heal, the blood was absorbed by the crown and the red jewel in the middle released a red glow.

"Fan Daiyu. It's me. I'm you. I won't tell you of your fate since you'll probably find a way to finish it so all I will tell you is…. Take everything but leave the graves and the soldiers alone… Take the ring hidden behind my seat and make a blood contract. It is a infinite void ring. It has an infinite amount of space within it so you can take it all away. I left a message on the ring all you have to do is read it aloud and the seat will show you a way out. Leave and grow to protect you loved ones… I failed but now I'm paying for my own incompetence… I'm sorry… Please forgive me… I just loved him too much and too late. I hope you don't make the same mistake… Just remember that only that the ones that had once been chained will always be the strongest after recovering their freedom. I fated you so. I don't know what you have gone through but I'm sure it was terrible. But now you can grow strong after learning to overcome it.

Please… grow strong to win for your beloveds…

I'm sorry… goodbye."

The sorrowful voice choked back tears between sentences. It was lonely and depressed but it still hoped for the next her.

Listening to her, Fan Daiyu felt sympathy but also anger. She couldn't help it. Both of their positions were difficult and she understood both sides. She had mixed feelings but there was nothing she could do. All she could do was agree with one thing.

To grow stronger.

She took the crown and the golden ring behind the throne.

It was a simple golden ring and yet it evoked a strange feeling from her. She felt sadness, regret, and a strange unfamiliar feeling. It was new but warm and a bit uncomfortable but she didn't mind.

She cut her finger and the ring soaked up her blood. She headed back to the other room but this time there was no story. Her steps were quick and nothing stopped her as she arrived to the other room. She closed her eyes and everything disappeared into her space void ring. Everything was gone in a matter of seconds. She even took the golden throne. After she was done, she looked at her ring. Ercan hopped on to her shoulder as she read a small phrase.

'FD 520 it's my 1314- Wei.'

1314: lifelong promise - usually between lovers

520: I love you

She looked at it and felt something sweet but sour at the back of her throat. Her eyes burned and soon tears began to fall. She couldn't understand but she knew it was the previous Fan Daiyu's lover. She felt it with in her. But that wasn't her. That was the past Fan Daiyu ad she was gone.

She knew but she still couldn't help but cry as she choked out the words.

"FD five two 0 it's my one three one four from Wei"

"Fan Daiyu I love you it's my life long promise from Wei"

She said it in both forms and felt regret in her heart. It was so much regret that it hurt.

Another tunnel opened up but this time it had stairs leading outwards and she could see the faint light on the other side.

Finally, after four days or so she was finally back. She headed out barefoot and saw her home in front of the small hill. The tunnel behind her closed and any opening that might have been seen was nowhere in sight.

[Long Wei, Bambi, Uncle Morris, Uncle Li… Father… I have returned.]

She headed towards the entrance of the tomb but no one was there. Her dazzling silver hair swayed along with the wind and her small ankles chimed with each step because of her ankle bracelets.

*Crash*

She could hear something breaking and she slowly turned to see the face of a young man that made her heart race.

His dark hair was messy and his hazel golden eyes were widely opened in shock. He was taller, leaner, and his features were more defined than before.

It was Long Wei…

His eyes shook and he disregarded the jar full of roses as her ran to her side. He stared at her with disbelief as he said in a shaky voice, "Where were you these past four and a half years?"

[WHAT?! FOUR YEARS!?]

"It's only been four days and a few hours."
