13 The "Trauma"
Kim Akio was an average looking man in his mid 20s.
He was ready to spend his weekend afternoon like any other. He woke up in the morning went out for a jog, ate breakfast, and studied medical books. As the sun rose, it was about time for him to brew his favorite tea. He took out his teacup but before he could setup to prepare his tea he heard some knocks at his door.
[How unusual on a weekend.]
He wasn't a very known physician so nobody really asked for his help on weekends.
He walked with his cup to the front door and recognized two familiar famous figures, the general and his wife. His gaze shifted to a tiny figure in their arms and his teacup fell to the floor and shattered.
That child was the cause of his new nightmare.
"Can you tell us what happened during our child's birth?"
He was in so much shock that he didn't hear what the general had said.
"Hello. It's okay if you say no but I would greatly appreciate if you would tell us what happened during my daughter's birth"
When the man repeated his request, he couldn't say no to his idol.
Although he was still a bit scared of the child, he slowly nodded.
"Yes but please I beg you let's talk anywhere except my house."
He looked like he would cry so Fan Ying conceded.
"What's your name?"
"…Kim Akio"
Kim motioned them to his back yard for some privacy while praying for protection against all demonic presences.
They sat down on a few stray chairs on the yard and he poured them some tea.
When he sat down to tell his side of the story, he looked at the little girl and his eyes were full of visible fear.
As Fan Daiyu stared at everything that was happening, her arm began to feel pain. Her sensitive baby nerves could not take much of it and she fainted. She didn't even remember what she did and now that she was about to find out she suddenly faints.
Ah. THE UNFAIRNESS OF THE WOLRLD. *sob*
Since it seemed as if she had just fallen asleep, they took no notice of the occurrence.
Kim Akio slowly began recounting the events.
"When Mrs. Fan gave birth everything seemed normal. Although the baby didn't cry, that wasn't a case that hadn't happened before. She was a little fussy and fought against anyone that grabbed her. At first we thought she was just uncomfortable or really energetic but after some time we saw that she really did seem to hate it. She was full of…anger or more like…loathing. We didn't really notice all these small details until…"
He looked up at them and gulped as if he were living a nightmare all over again.
The couple looked at each other and then motioned for him to continue. He relented.
"Until she opened her eyes. They were so eye catching and mysterious that they would have been enchanting except they were lifeless. It frightened us all. She looked dead but her pupils were moving. She saw us and her expression… God, her expression. It looked…. Demonic.
Her look sent chills down our spines it was horrifying."
The couple blankly stared at the young man that was shaking uncontrollably and was crying. They waited for him knowing there was more to the story.
He dried his tears and peeked at the sleeping baby before retreating quickly.
"She began to make weird noises. It was as if she were trying to say something. It was as if she was full of disgust and ridicule towards us but if you ask me, it looked more so towards herself. We all fought over who would do other chores instead of handling her. At some point, we saw her crying with extreme sadness. One physician lost and had to grab her but she wouldn't let him. She kicked and fought with all her might. Every now and then, you would see a terrifying crazed glow in her eyes and her strength would increase. Eventually we all had to help exhaust her but we still heard her anger and mad laughter in some occasions. This all happened yesterday and it became my greatest nightmare.
She is possessed."
The couple now understood why every physician they had visited so far had rejected them. They felt shocked and afraid but most of all confused.
[Why did she cry? Who made our precious daughter cry?]
The couple didn't care about the other events. All they knew is that everything had been caused by someone that had handled her at birth.
They were so foolish.
"Who delivered her to you all?"
Kim felt confused at their reactions. Why weren't they panicking at their demonic child?
When Nuwa Yenay saw his expression, she explained everything to him.
"Our daughter isn't possessed. We just found out that she has been having nightmares. When we saw her eyes and the listlessness in them, we also thought there was something wrong but it turns out that she became that way because she was traumatized at birth. Our daughter is special. She is a genius."
She gave him the details of everything that happened and chuckled at Kim Akio's expression.
All the information made his mind spin and his jaw drop in astonishment.
He would have never believed it but when he heard Lilian's name his thoughts of doubt had a 360 degree turn.
"It was the main physician that handled the child."
"Did he say anything to her during that time?"
"If I remember correctly… I recall him berating her eyes and calling her demonic."
Suddenly something clicked and his eyes shined.
"Maybe because of our gazes and commentaries we only managed to intensify her anger and sadness and self-loathing causing her trauma to emerge and deepen."
He nodded at his own intelligence.
[Maybe I can become Head Dalai's disciple with my amazing brain.]
Fan Ying who had been holding in all his anger finally exploded and headed to the main culprit's home.
"I'm going to kill him. How dare he say that to my precious jade?!!!"
His blood shot red eyes were churning with rage as he vented some of his anger. He wanted to strangle that man but his wife prevented him.
"Ying, I know you're angry. I am too, but you are a general and a father. You need to be more responsible for me, for our jade."
At the sound of his wife's reason, Fan Ying placated his raging heart. His chest which had been heaving up and down ferociously soon steadied along with his breathing.
The terrified young man just ran away in terror and locked his home. He had been saved by Mrs. Fan but it was better to be safe than sorry.
The couple calmed down and headed home without the knowledge of the torment their daughter was experiencing the longer they took.
