48 Lock Them In

"Didn't we talked about this? Unless you tell me who went to my house, you will receive a punishment every 6 A.M. and 6 P.M."

Raye's staring down at Eunica while holding a wooden stick in his hands. Rin's looking away from Eunica while holding a knife. He's supposed to wound her today.

Yesterday, when she was near passing out, Raye let her go and called some maids to tend to her bruises. But now, she'll have to be tortured until the maids call for breakfast.

"Papa, please. I told you already, it was me. Those prints are big because I moved!" Eunica begged.

Her bruises are still aching and it pains her to see Rin feeling guilty for what her father's ordering him to do.

"Rin, be sure to inflict pain to my daughter. No matter what, they'll end up opening their mouths when they want it to stop," Raye said as he turns towards the door.

"You're not my father, are you?" Eunica asks.

Rin's eyes went huge, he shakes his head for Eunica to stop but she ignored him and continued talking.

Raye stopped and listened to Eunica.

"My father would never hurt me. Where is he!? Where did you put him? Who are you?" She screamed while trying to get out of the chair.

Raye snorted, "What kind of nonsense are you saying?" he turns around, "I am your father. You're just an ungrateful child!" He was about to hit Eunica when Rin stopped him.

"Sir, it is my job. Please don't dirty your hands again," Rin said.

Raye nodded, "Alright. Do your job, Sarin." He took another look at Eunica before leaving.

"Sorry, but we have to endure this," Rin said before digging the knife in Eunica's hand.

The moment Eunica flinched, Rin immediately pulled the knife. It only left a small wound on her hand but the blood's beginning to flow out.

"Sorry," Rin whispered. He can't bear to see her get hurt especially when he's the one hurting her.

Eunica bites her lips and nodded, "Go on. If you only leave a small cut they'll think you're not following them."

As Rin grinds his teeth in anger, Jin and the others are preparing for their investigation. They just received the message that the government will proceed with the surprise investigation and sent them the things they'll need.

Gat, Jeane, and Gerald are waiting for them with Lucio. Since he found out his sister was revived he almost lost his soul and had to stay away from everyone to have a space to think what he'll do next. Now, he's not only fighting for the other hybrids and Eunica but for his sister.

"We're ready," Luke said as they all went out wearing military uniforms. The government's car is waiting for them with the other military officers, some are even hybrids from SINS.

"Jin, when you receive the message, enter Raye's house and get everyone out, including the hybrids that Eunica asks you to bring with," Iaz said as he walks towards Gerald and shook his hand.

"Yes," Jin nodded his head. He then looks at Lucio, "I'll bring Lara too. I promise."

They all went and rode the vehicles. One of the military officers smiled at Jin, "Hey!" he greeted, "Remember me? I was in your base before I got sent out. I'm still alive!" he said.

Jin tries to remember who he is. Since Luinn took over he does not pay much attention to other hybrids except the gang, "You are?" he asks.

"Oh," he seemed disappointed but he beamed another smile, "I'm #121, I'm called June here. Anyway, I volunteered when I learned we'll save our brothers and sisters from the President."

Jin nodded, "I see, I'm sorry I can't remember you."

"No problem, how're Jhon and the others?"

"They're under Luinn's security but they're around the base. We can get them out too," Jin said.

After a long ride, Jin, Luke, Rio and some brigade from the tribe turned to the road towards Raye's mansion.

"Sir, we're on our way to Mr. Angelo Raye's house, we'll be waiting for your next order," June reported.

Jin and Luke sighed, "We'll be waiting here for a few hours, you know," Luke said and laid back.

As they get near the mansion, Jin felt restless. The air seemed heavy and cold.

"Will it rain?" he asks.

June shakes his head, "No. But I can feel it too."

Rio and June's eyes went huge, among them, they are the ones who are more familiar with dangers and how hybrids let out a warning about it.

"Someone in that mansion's in danger. It's a distress signal for hybrids to warn each other about what is happening," June said.

He first knew about it when he was sent to the battlefield and learned through the senior hybrids who managed to stay alive.

"Danger?" Jin mutters, "What if it's Angel?" he asks.

Luke looks at Jin, "No, don't say that. Raye wouldn't hurt his daughter. Never."

"How can you say so?" June asks.

"Well, father said based on Eunica's memories, Raye is a good father."

Rio nodded, "Yes, but that doesn't guarantee anything. Jin, we have to follow the order no matter what happens, alright?"

Jin can't agree nor nod. He's feeling uneasy with the thought that someone's in danger. He's been feeling the same thing since yesterday and wasn't even able to sleep properly.

Lucio and the others are on their way to the SINS Dominarium base where Hyung and the others are. One of their men got into the radio line of security.

"Sir, we're connected. Should we give them a warning?" An officer asks Gerald.

"Yes, I'm sure that Syp will answer." Gerald nodded at the officer.

"Who is this?" Syp took the call while Jessica and Dr. Arlene are having a coffee on his desk.

Gerald answered and explained what they will do, "Please, prepare the hybrids in your area."

"Alright, I'll tell Jhon and the others to prepare. Is Jin with you?"

"No, he'll take Eunica," Gerald answered, "She's with Raye. I'll explain everything once we get there. I'll have to cut the call, Luinn might trace it."

Gerald turned the call off and turned to Lucio, "Why didn't you go with Jin? Didn't you want to make sure Lara and Eunica will be safe?"

Lucio sighed, "I don't know what I can do once I see Raye. I don't want to hurt Eunica and Lara."

Gerald and the others can feel Lucio's heavy heart during their whole travel. When they're nearing the SINS, they messaged Jin to enter the mansion in 10 minutes.

Jin and the others prepared their weapons to enter the mansion, bringing tranquilizers and tasers but June and the other military personnel carries guns just in case.

Eunica's wounds were being tended by Maid Marga when Denver, Lily and her mothers entered her room. They were supposed to have breakfast, but when they heard about Eunica's condition they chose to visit her first.

"Sis!" Lily ran to her and hugged Eunica.

Maid Marga put the bandages on her arms and hand as Lara and Laika froze upon seeing Eunica wounded. They can't believe Raye did that to her and let her get hurt.

Denver sighed and hugged Eunica too, "Sis, I told you to tell us when Papa does something bad."

Eunica smiled and hugged her siblings when Maid Marga finished bandaging her hands and arms, "I'm fine," she said and kissed their foreheads.

But a sudden gush of cold air froze Maid Marga, Lara, and Eunica followed by screams outside.

Lily and Denver hugged Eunica tighter from shock, Lara went to check what was happening outside and saw the military forcing an entree in the mansion.

"What's happening?" Laika asks as she follows Lara and peeks outside.

Eunica received Jin's message about helping them escape and smiled, "Marga! Call everyone, Jin's here! They'll save us. Let's meet him outside." She stands up and held Lily and Denver's hand. "Let's go."

Maid Marga nodded and ran outside to call the other maids and guards. Lara held Lily, Lara took Denver. "We can't let you get hurt anymore," Lara said.

They managed to sneak out to the kitchen with the others but the moment they opened the door, Raye was standing outside, facing them. As if he knows they'll go out.

"Papa!" Lily called, "Let's go!" She said with a smiling face. Lara covered her mouth to avoid her telling him more than what he has to know.
