46 Teach A Lesson

Laika and Lara sit silently in the garden. They sip their tea while watching the butterflies fly around them to the different flowers. Inside their mind, they're battling whether to talk about their husband or talk about how they can help Eunica and Jin.

Laika glances over at Lara who has her eyes closed with a soft smile on her face.

"Are you alright?" Laika worriedly asks as she puts her cup down.

Lara nodded without opening her eyes, "When you're dead, all you can hear is a deafening silence. But this type of silent is the most elegant quiet I've ever heard since I woke up."

Laika felt the pain in Lara's voice. Even though she never felt what Lara went through, the way she tells it makes her feel the heaviness and loneliness Lara experienced.

"I'm sorry. I had an ill feeling towards you before. I won't act nice because I know that you know that," Laika said and looked away.

"It's fine, darling. I know what you're feeling right now," Lara opened her eyes and took another sip of her tea, "I'm sensitive to people's feelings. And the moment I heard about you, I felt bad."

Laika flinched, "What do you mean?" she asks and looks at Lara.

It's obvious why Raye fell for her, she's a beauty. A rare and exquisite one.

"I know I shouldn't be here. I'm not meant to be here. If there's something wrong with your life, it's me."

"No, Lara there's--"

"No. I'm sorry if I destroyed your family, Laika. I didn't want to," Laika's voice became dry and shaky, "The only thing I am thankful for to be breathing again is meeting my daughter. I don't know why but... I don't feel the same way with Raye. Maybe because he's just my husband and with what I found out about him but Eunica... she came from me. I made her."

Lara's painful throat made her tear up, "So, I'm sorry. I want your children to be happy. But... I don't want to leave Eunica. She needs me." She stares directly at Lara, "I have to stay with my daughter. You can have Raye, Laika. I don't want him anymore."

Laika furrowed her brows, "That's it, Lara. You don't want him and he doesn't want me. He wants you since the beginning. He wants his real wife."

Her sharp words silenced Lara, of course, she's right. If Raye doesn't want her, she wouldn't be alive right now. She wouldn't be able to see the light of day or Eunica.

"That is why I don't know what I should do, Lara. I have to stay with my children. But they wouldn't understand what's happening."

Lara sighs, "Anyways, we will both stay here. And we'll be friends, right?"

Laika softly nods, "Of course. But what would Raye say?"

"He can say whatever. He knows that I am a friendly person. You're the one who should explain how come you accepted me."

Laika looks around as she thinks of an answer, "Because you know my sister?"

"Jessica, right? Yeah, she is my best friend. And yes, that is a good reason," Lara smiled and took a sip of her tea.

Laika nodded, of course, they can be friends. They're up against the same person, Luinn. If they don't work together anything good will come out.

Eunica has her siblings on her side, sleeping peacefully as they are on their way back home when she received a message from Jin.

'Hey, Angel. We talked to the scientist, they'll help us. They said they can file reports to the government about the maltreatment of hybrids in SINS. But that's not all, call me when you can.'

Eunica tries to hide her smile but Maid Marga caught her off-guard, "Oh..." she swoons with a tint of teasing.

Eunica nodded, "I was hoping for a sweet first text message, but this will do. He said the scientists will help them file report to the government. But with Luinn's power, I don't think the government will help."

"Have faith," Maid Marga said and smiled.

Eunica nodded and looks at her siblings, they will be having a hard time if this won't stop. Her mother can't stay with them, she can't tell them who she is, and her father has to stop working with Luinn or else Den and Li would live in a degraded life.

The guards took Lily and Denver and put them to bed while Eunica went to catch up with her mothers. They were laughing together while having tea in the garden.

Eunica paused and savored the beautiful look on their faces.

"Baby," Lara called when her eyes landed on Eunica, "Come here. Have some tea."

She went to them and sat in between Lara and Laika as a maid pours her a cup of tea.

"What happened while I was gone?" Eunica asks while throwing a questioning look at Laika and Lara, "Did you fight?"

Lara shakes her head, "No."

"We became friends," Laika answered, "We get along nicely."

"That's great!" Eunica took a sip of her tea and smiled, "Ah, I love this."

"Eunica," Lara called, "About Luinn, who is he again?"

"Secretary Jessica's husband," Eunica replied.

Laika looks away, she knows her sister was not on the great side before everything happened and wanted revenge for Lara, but she knows she turned away from Luinn. If she happens to know that Lara's alive, she'll be happy.

Lara's eyes went huge, "I see. Anyways, how's Jin?"

"I saw him earlier and I gave him a phone. He said that scientists will help us."

Lara nodded, "That's great."

"Wait, who are the scientists? I may know some of them," Laika leans on the chair and looks at Eunica.

Lara agreed and nodded, she may also know the scientist since she always stays in the SINS with Raye before and met all the employees.

"I don't know. I'll Jin," Eunica took her phone and dialed Jin's number. It took a few rings before he picks up.

"Hey, Eunica..." His voice was soft and faint, "What's up?"

Eunica pressed her lips to avoid laughing, Jin sounded shy and uncomfortable.

Lara and Laika stared at her with a curiosity which made her turn the volume up. They can hear other people's voice in the background. Luke seems to be teasing Jin with Iaz. While Rio seemed to be irritated by them.

"Hey, Jin," Eunica replied with a chuckle, "You okay there?"

Lara and Laika raised their brows with a teasing smile at Eunica.

Laika pointed at the phone and mouthed, "That's the boy?"

Lara nodded and smiled, "Yep."

"I'm doing great. What about you?" Jin asks.

"LAME!" Luke shouted in the background, "You sound so stupid!" he added.

Iaz laughs, "Yeah. What's with the 'How about you?'"

"Shut up!" Jin yelled, "I'm sorry. I just don't what to say. Phones are weird," his voice was a bit louder than earlier and he sounds confident now.

Eunica smiled, "Yeah. Anyways, I want to talk about scientists. How did it go? What's the plan?"

"Yeah, so Gerald, Gat, and Jeane will help us," Jin said.

Lara and Laika looked at each other with surprise, they know the three. They are the best scientist in SINS before.

"Okay..." Eunica saw the expression of her mothers and understood that they know who the people Jin mentioned are.

"The plan is that they'll send a report to the government to run an investigation in SINS but they are not sure whether the government will take our side or Luinn's. Anyways, during the investigation, we will go with them and free the hybrids left. It will cause a commotion but don't worry, we'll handle it."

"Are you sure? What if you get caught?" Eunica moves closer to her phone with a frown.

Lara heard a threatening look and took Eunica's hand immediately, "Stop. End the call, someone's here."

Laika furrowed her brows until she remembers who passes by in their mansion around this time, Drigo.

"I have to go, Jin. Goodbye," Eunica took her phone and was ready to press the end button.

"Okay... Bye, Eunica. Take care of yourself," Jin said and was the one who ended the call.

Eunica smiled but when she felt the same threatening aura, she hides her phone in her pocket.

A tall muscular dark man with a bald head came into the garden. The moment he steps into the grass, it's as if they all froze. His presence was overwhelming and scary.

Eunica gulps while clutching her shirt. She never felt this intimidated in her life.

"Missus Laika, Miss Lara and..." Drigo stared at Eunica with eyes that can consume her soul, "Miss Eunica Angel, good day to you, ladies."

Laika nodded, she looks like she can at least handle the situation with Drigo. "Good day to you too, Drigo. Are you here to check the mansion's security again?" she asks.

"Yes. Since Miss Eunica arrived, Mr. Raye wanted the security to be maximized. Please continue your tea, I'll just take a look around." He said and left.

Eunica took a deep breath and looked at Laika, "How can you talk to him? He's scary," she said and hugged her arms while brushing her skin to remove her goosebumps.

"Well, he's scary at first. But when you analyze, he's just doing his job. But of course, he's an enemy."

"He's working for Luinn," Eunica clicked her tongue and looks at the place where Drigo went.

"Yes, and I'm warning you to be wary of your surroundings. Sometimes he just pops out of nowhere."

Laika sips her tea and while looking pass Lara, her eyes went huge. She slowly put her tea down and pats Eunica's hand, "Tell him it was you."

Eunica tilted her head with confusion and was about to open her mouth when Drigo's voice made her froze.

"I saw some footprints in the fence. Who entered here?" He asked.

Lara looks at Eunica with worry, she doesn't know what is happening or who went inside the mansion. But she knows Eunica's behind this.

Laika started at Eunica with eyes that are eager to make her answer the words she said.

"It was me," Eunica proudly said and even looked directly at Drigo's onyx eyes.

There was a long silence, Eunica didn't break the eye contact until Drigo reacted.

"How?" He asked and put his hands behind his back.

Eunica looks down, "I'm sorry," her voice went soft and apologetic, "I wanted to get out of here. That's why. But when I realized I don't know where I was I climbed back."

"What do you mean? You wanted to escape but you came back because you didn't know where you are?" Drigo's voice was hinting that he doesn't believe Eunica.

"Not really," Eunica sighed, "I mean, yeah. I don't want to be here because I don't know what the hell's happening. But I realized I have nowhere to go. I am not stupid to let myself become a beggar on the street when I have a mansion. I'm just indecisive."

Drigo went silent for a while, Eunica's words match what Mr. Raye's been telling him about Eunica. One minute she's hot then the next she's cold. She also seems to not like the things that are happening around her which made her want to escape.

"Alright, I will report this to Mr. Raye. The next time you climb the fence and gate, you'll be electrically fried, Miss Eunica." Drigo said and left.

Laika and Lara stopped their breaths until Drigo's gone.

Eunica took the teapot and poured herself tea and immediately drinks it, "Woah! That was... exciting! I didn't know I can lie like that! Wow!" she exclaimed.

Lara stared at her daughter, she never imagined she can act so well. She's a great actress. She believed it until she said to herself that it was a lie.

"I didn't know what happened, but next time be sure not to live any footprint," Laika said and drinks her tea.

"Sir, someone entered the mansion. It was not Miss Eunica, it has bigger prints. And there are two of them," Drigo reported to Luinn and Raye the moment he arrived in the Luinn's office.

"Good, now we know that Eunica's not so innocent, is she, Raye?" Luinn asks while Raye was being forced to be injected with a drug.

"Don't touch my family, Luinn. I already helped you. Stop this, don't use me against them. Lara's the only thing I needed." he said in between pants.

The drug's making him lose his senses and his breath's slowing down.

"But you're the one who's doing my plan now, Raye. You just can't remember." Luinn smirked as Raye slowly lose his conciousness.

The minute after, Raye opened his eyes, "Eunica's working against her own father and the person who revived her mother? How ungrateful, I'll teach her a lesson." He said.

Luinn nodded and laughs like a maniac. Since day one, the day when they captured Raye and beats him into pulp, he's been induced with a drug that will make them be controlled. He only used Lara as an excuse to make everything look like he's working for him to revive his wife and gain money when in fact, he's just being controlled.

Eunica will hate him even more. She will do what it takes to put the person who hurts her family down, even if it's her father. Luinn knows those types of person. He was just like them. Until hybrids killed his chance for revenge.

Luinn cracks his knuckles, "Yes, do what you have to do to teach Eunica a lesson, Raye."
