After eating, we cleaned up the apartment. Unfortunately, I was the one doing the cleaning and 'his Majesty' Lance was sitting promptly in the living room watching television.

I shouldn't have spoiled him so much and now his rotten. I was sweeping the floor like a slave, when I felt someone tapped my shoulder. I looked at him and he pointed under the couch, reminding me that I missed out a spot.

I blinked, this punk! I seriously want to hit him but I controlled myself knowing he has traumatic experience with violence before.

I frowned at him and continued doing my work. After cleaning up was done, I checked the kitchen cupboards and fridge. I decided to go grocery shopping since were lacking in supplies. When I finished listing the things needed to buy, I glanced at the living room and saw him slouching on the couch like a lazy cat.

I reminded myself to buy him a few clothes.

Feeling sweaty and a bit uncomfortable, I took a shower to refresh myself. Dressed up, I put my dirty clothes on the laundry. I proceeded to the living room, tapping the lazy bag of bones and said,

" I'll be out for a while grocery shopping, behave yourself. Don't leave the house and most importantly, don't let strangers in, okay?" I told him.

Hearing what I've said, he immediately run to the bedroom and closed the door. A few seconds, he came out ready to go. "And where do you think your growing mister?"

He looks excited while he clinging on to me. "You want to go with me?" He nodded cheerfully.

I signed letting him come with me. After locking the door, we walked towards the elevator. Upon entering, we unexpectedly saw Mrs. Collins, the one occupying the opposite unit from us.

When our eyes meet, I gave her a polite smile. She stared at me then smiled back.

I acted civil towards her. Knowing how famous this lady for gossiping around the neighborhood.

Then she eyed the man beside me. The curiosity in her eyes is evident. I felt her move a little closer, leaning in. " Your Kia's cousin right? You look so pretty just like your cousin. " Then she smiled kindly at me.

If she hadn't known that this lady was just prying for another gossip, she would have truly believed that her words were genuine.

Unfortunately, her cousin warned her not to get close to that family. They loved to spread malicious rumors.

" Oh, thanks Mrs. Collins. I just moved in at my cousin's place recently. I've been staying for almost two weeks now." I replied to her. Sensing that she had successfully opened up a conversation with me, Mrs. Collins continued asking.

"Really? I hope you had a nice stay here in our neighborhood. If you want to know or need anything, don't be shy. You can directly ask me." She beamed.

"Sure thing, I'll keep that in mind." I told her. Then she turned to look at the oblivious Lance.

"This young man looks so handsome. Is he your boyfriend?" She asked curiously.

I was caught off guard at the moment, no one should know that I'm keeping a stranger in the apartment. Especially it was a man. If Kia finds out , she's gonna skin me alive.

Knowing how skilled Mrs. Collins at 'communication' and 'storytelling', I decided to not risk myself being the main topic of rumors.

" He's my brother. He was staying here with me." I lied

I saw her knitted her brows , staring at me then Lance.

I saw her suspicious eye, darting to and pro between us. I was feeling anxious but after a while she spoke.

" You really do have good genes in your family. Your cousin and you are both beauties even your brother is equally dashing."

I was relieved that she actually believed what I've said. Me and Lance doesn't even have any striking resemblance from each other. I find it funny, she's too gullible.

" Does he has a girlfriend? If he doesn't, I can introduce him to my daughter. I'm sure she'd like him." Mrs. Collins said while smiling.

Well, it seems she wants to have the same 'good genes' in our family.

I can't help arching my brow, considering how shallow and superficial her daughter is, of course she'll definitely like him. Lance has exceptional looks, who wouldn't like that.

What is Mrs. Collins thinking? That good for nothing daughter of hers, seriously? Is she trying to scam me?

Her daughter holds up a very bad reputation in the neighborhood.

Before I could even answer Mrs. Collins, the elevator dinged. I smiled and bid her goodbye then hurriedly pulled lance outside the lift.

My cousin told me to be aware of the people whom I met.

Mrs. Collins is known for spreading rumors and slandering people.

That's why I need to be careful.

I don't want to associate myself with the likes of her.
