28 Chapter Twenty – Seven

It's Monday. Maya finally admitted to the crowd that she and Fredo are dating. Everybody is not surprised because they knew that they were hooking up. And then, Chloe realized something errie happening during that night. As if she is hardly to get some sleep and thinking who sent her that kind of text message. She assumed that it might be the person who's target is their group to seek revenge.

She confronted Davina about it, "What happened? Both Maya and Maita got hurt. And, I don't know who is the person behind this. I don't think Maya would plan something to hurt herself."

Sabi naman ni Davina, "I don't know. Even Violet doesn't have any clues. She was surprised that there is a pail of pig's blood in the ceiling. We planned to outvote Maya, but we are surprised why she pretended to be her sister."

And, Chloe realized something, "So, this is according to the plan. I guess that she hired someone to get that pail of pig's blood so she will have the people's sympathy. And, did you get the picture?"

"Oh? You mean, she is just pretending. And, plotted the whole thing so they could admit to the crowd that she is hooking up with Fredo?" taka ni Davina.

And suddenly, the principal approached them and call Davina's attention. She commanded to go with her to the office.

Sabi ng Principal, "Davina, ano itong nakarating sa aking balita na may nangyaring masama sa Prom?"

"Ma'am, I am sorry. Wala po kami alam ni Violet sa nangyari." explained naman ni Davina.

Nandun din sa loob ng office si Violet. Tahimik lang.

"Well, Violet explained to me everything. Ang plano lang daw ay dadayain ang online voting para si Maita ang manalo bilang Prom Queen. But, she was surprised that you plotted to embarrass Maita in public." sabi ng Principal.

"No. That's not true. Hindi ko talaga alam kung ano ang nangyayari And, I don't want to embarrass Maita." sabi ni Davina.

"If it is not true. Prove it to me. Write a letter of apology to Maita's parents about the incident. That is the only thing that you could do for now." sabi ng Principal.

Nang lumabas sina Violet at Davina sa Principal's office. Nagalit itong si Davina kay Violet, "Why do you need to accuse me like that?"

"Calm down. Cheer up! A letter of apology is not a big deal. Besides, if you want to clear out the issues, that is the best option you can do for now." sabi ni Violet.

"What?" gulat ni Davina.

"Someone texted me before I went to the event." sabi niya.

At pinakita niya ang text message sa inbox niya, "Oh, Captain! My Captain! Our fearful trip is done. The ship has weather'd every rock. The prize we sought has won!"

"What does that mean? Are you accusing me that I am sending you that message?" usisa ni Davina.

"No. Chill ka lang. As I said before, someone has been watching us while we are looking for clues of who's behind these. This anonymous message must be coming from someone who is in the circle and knows our business. " kwento no ni Violet.

"I don't give you that kind of message. It might be coming from Fredo or Maya." duda ni Davina.

"Or, it might be coming from Cher or Chloe. Well, I don't get your point. Why do you need to tell Chloe and Cher, if the plan is just to find clues who's abducting Maya?" sabi ni Violet.

"They might help us. And, my point is, Maya is plotting the whole idea to get her parents's attention." sabi ni Davina.

"No. I don't think so." sagot naman ni Violet.

And suddenly, someone with anonymous number texted Davina, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only."

After reading the texted quote, Davina is trembling, as if she feels that someone who is nearby listening to their talking.

At hinila ni Davina si Violet, "Someone is spying on us now. Let's go."

Pagpunta nila sa school ground, they saw Fredo and Maya are together sitting on a bench while talking to other school mates.

Sinugod ni Davina si Fredo, "Ikaw ba ang nagpapadala ng mga text messages sa amin? "

"What are you saying?" gulat ni Fredo.

Violet explained, "Someone texted us from an anonymous number."

"Really?" taka ni Maya.

"Oh, don't pretend that you do not know anything." sabi ni Davina.

Nagsalita ang isa nilang kasamahan na kakilala ni Davina sa SC. Ang sabi, "Kanina pa naka-off ang cellphone ni Fredo kasi low batt. Makiki-text nga sana ako."

Dagdag pa ni Maya, "And, I left my cellphone with Maita. Do you want to search my hand bag?"

At tiningnan nga ni Davina ang handbag ni Maya, wala nga doon ang cellphone.

"Are you and Maita up to something?" tanong ni Davina.

"Oh, c'mon! Kilala mo ako , Davina. If I am plotting to kill both of you, dapat wala kayo dito ngayon. And, Fredo has nothing to do with both of you. If someone's threatening you now, that's your karma!" gatong pa ni Maya.

Lumapit sa kanila si Giselle, "Davina, tara na. Malelate na tayo sa class."

"Look! Your cousin is calling you." sabi naman ni Fredo sa kanya.

"Ta-ta!" sabi pa ni Maya sa kanya.

Sumama si Davina kay Giselle, at ikinuwento ang nangyari tungkol sa event at sa narereceive niyang text messages.

Sabi naman ni Giselle, "Davina, that issue is already done. Tangap ko na hindi ako ang Prom Queen. If you want me to feel happy, I really appreciate that. But, next time, don't trust anyone easily, specially Violet and Chloe."

Nagdududa itong si Davina sa attitude na pinapakita ni Giselle.

"The case here is our cellphones are lost but we already found them. Now, Maya is with us, and she found her sisters, and I am very happy about that. As for Violet, she is trying to be nice to you because you are the SC President. And, Maverick found some cool friends. Get the picture?" sabi naman ni Giselle.

"But, I received..." bago pa natapos ang pangugusap ni Davina. Naginterrupt na agad si Giselle.

Sabi niya, "Don't get them inside your head. Just relax. Maybe someone who is a bully, and he is against your scheme or Maya. But, it is better to keep quiet. Malay ko ba, baka sa tabi-tabi lang ang nanghaharrassed sa iyo at talagang ikaw ang target niya imbes na kami? You never know."

At kinabahan itong si Davina sa sinabi ni Giselle.
