23 Chapter Twenty - Two

"Maya, the guidance counselor wants to speak with you." sabi ng class adviser na si Ms. Matimpalak.

At agad tumayo itong si Maya para bumaba sa counseling office.

"I am here to talk with Ms. Remedios." sabi niya.

Sagot naman ng secretary, "Sandali lang. Titingnan ko kung may kausap si Ms. Remedios."

At umupo muna siya sofa para maghintay. At maya-maya, lumabas ang mommy ni Chloe at ang mommy ni Giselle. Sila pala ang kausap ni Ms. Remedios.

Tumingin sila kay Maya, at pagkatapos lumabas na ng opisina. Saka na pinatawag si Maya ni Ms. Remedios sa sekretarya. Nang pumasok si Maya, tinanong niya, "Ma'am, may problema po ba?"

"Maya, have a seat." sabi pa niya.

At nang naka-upo na si Maya, saka nagsimula na si Ms. Remedios, "Maya, hindi ko gusto ang ginawa mo kay Violet. You tend to become violent in this past few weeks. By the way, kamusta ang relasyon mo sa mga kapatid mo? Masaya ka ba nang nagkita-kita kayo?"

"Of course, huwag niyo po akong sisihin ang tungkol sa nangyari kay Violet. Siya po ang nag-umpisa." sagot naman ni Maya.

"And, you already saw that I talked with the mothers of your two friends, right? Gusto ko kasi malinaw sa akin ang mga nangyayari sa iyo. At bakit kailangan pa si Maita na magpangap bilang ikaw. At kagustuhan mo daw ito. Tama ba?" sabi niya.

"Ma'am, kasi po nagsimula po na may dumukot sa akin. Nang nakatakas ako, ayaw ko magpakita sa mga tao dahil nasunog ang mukha ko ng mga dumukot sa akin. Nang nag-pa- plastic surgery na po ako, saka dinisisyon ni Mama na magstay muna ako sa Baguio para magtago at hayaan si Maita na magpangap bilang ako." kuwento naman ni Maya.

At kumuha si Ms. Remedios ng calling card sa box kung saan tinatago ang mga calling card, at binagay sa kanya, sinabing, "Please make an appointment with this specialist. He is really good. Matutulungan ka niya sa pinagdadaanan mo. Siya din ang therapist na tumitingin kay Lucia. Alam mo, Lucia is now ok after the therapy. At mukhang kasundong-kasundo niya ang iba niyo pang kaibigan. And, I hope this talk will make you feel better."

At nang nakauwi na si Maya, saka na niya sinabi sa parents niya ang sinabi ng counselor na kailangan niya magpatingin sa therapist.

Sabi naman ni Mrs. del Real sa asawa niya, "David, kailangan ba natin ipatingin itong si Maya. Mukha naman siyang ok."

Sagot nman ni Mr. del Real, "You never know, Hon. At isa pa, Maya needs someone to talk with that she could trust. I agree with the teachers that she has tendency to be violent. And, look what happened to one of her friends, Violet."

At ang sabi naman ni Mrs. del Real kay May, "Narinig mo ang sinabi ng papa mo. You needed to see a therapist. Huwag kang mag-alala. Hindi naman masama ito. At saka para na rin matulungan ka mag-move-on sa nangyayari sa iyo."

"No! If you force me to see a psychiatrist, I will run away!" sabi niya.

At pumunta na siya ng kuwarto niya, and she slammed the door.

"See that kid? She is not supposed to be like that." commento naman ni Mr. del Real.

"David, she is having a problem. She could not cope up with the traumatized incident. And, one thing, I am her mother. I am here to guide and to protect her." paliwanag niya.

"As you say so." sagot naman ni Mr. del Real.

"By the way, tomorrow is Saturday! Let's go to Tagaytay. Mag-bonding tayo. Para naman maaliw ang mga kids, especially Maya." suhestyon ni Mrs. del Real.

"And, I hope na sana effective yung idea mo ha? But that idea is good!" sabi pa naman ni Mr. del Real.

On the next day, saka nag-outing ang buong pamilya sa Tagaytay Resort. Nag-enjoy sila buong pamilya doon. At kahit paano, naaliw din si Maya at hindi na siya na-iistressed. At bumalik na ang dating sigla niya.

And Sunday evening, pag-uwi ng mag-anak, at ang mga maids ay hinatid na ang mga maleta sa kani-kanilang mga kuwarto. Lumapit si Yaya Ising kay Mr. del Real, "Sir David, may problema po tayo. Si Craig nasa sala po."

At kinabahan agad si Mrs. del Real.

Pumunta sa sala si Mr. del Real, "Craig, what you are doing here? Aren't you supposed to stay with your mom?"

Sagot naman ni Craig, "Yeah, but mom advised me to stay with you."

At nang nakapasok na sa loob ang mag-iina, nakita ni Mrs. del Real si Craig, saka binati, "Anak, nandito ka na pala. Akala ko tatapusin mo ang pag-aaral mo sa states."

"Yeah, but I decided here to finish my studies. Ayaw ko na po sa states, nagiisa ako. Mas maganda kung nandito ako sa Pilipinas, kapiling ko ang mga mahal ko sa buhay."

Nagtanong si Maita, "Ma, sino po siya?"

Hindi pa sumagot si Mrs. del Real sa tanong ni Maita, sumingit naman agad si Craig, "Oh, I heard the news about your triplets!"

Saka lumapit siya kina Maita at Maverick, "Hi, I am Craig. I am your big brother."

And, Maya insisted, "Oh, c'mon! You are our half-brother."

Lumingon sa kanya si Craig, "I heard what happened to Giselle. I hope she is alright."

And, Maya just shrugged.

And Craig continued, "And, it seems that you are not affected. She is your friend, right?"

At sumingit naman si Maverick, "Don't worry, Giselle would be ok. And, she keeps herself busy since the incident happened. I know she is alright."

Tumingin sa kanya si Craig, "Oh, you are Giselle's friend, Maverick, the smart girl! So nice to see you."

Curious itong si Maita, "Is Giselle your girlfriend?"

Sagot naman sa kanya ni Craig, "Nope. Giselle is my half-sister. Actually, Chloe is our half - sister too. And, it is good to know that she is recovered from the accident."

With the sterned look from his eyes, nangatog itong si Maita.
