344 Bell Refused to Communicate
Bella’s heart was about to soften, she slowly closed her eyes. When she opened them again, the room had been bright.
She sat up and found a new quilt from Steven's cabinet and threw it on the bed. "You won’t feel cold with this."
She returned to the bed and wrapped up the quilt. She turned off the night light, and was ready to fall asleep again.
In the darkness, she heard some noise and soon there was a warm breath coming from her ear.
"If you get closer again, I will fall." Bella said indifferently.
The noise was going backward, Bella sighed silently. In the darkness, a drop of tears rushed out and soon fell into the pillow.
He was always like this. When he first said that he loved her, he took her to the pedestrian street to date regardless of her wishes...
He loved her, or not, always, he always decided everything.
Her nasal voice became heavier, and Charles heard her strangeness and asked softly, "Bell, are you crying?"
Bella closed her eyes and did not respond to him.
Then she heard him say, "Bell, if I live, will you stop crying?"
Bella still didn’t talk.
After a long, long silence, Charles’s voice came gently. “I’m leaving, Bell. I will take you to see your mom tomorrow.”
Then suddenly there was no more of his breathing. Bella suddenly opened the night light and looked sideways. There was only one extra quilt left at the bedside, and Charles was not there anymore.
He had gone……
Bella turned off the night light again, closed her eyes, it was best that he left. If she never had before, she didn’t need to have it, so she would get used to it, then she wouldn’t fall in love, she wouldn’t feel hard to leave him.
The exhaustion during the day made her fall asleep again soon.
The next day, if it wasn't for the sharp phone ringing, she would have been still asleep.
"Hello?" Bella touched the phone from the table with her eyes closed. She was totally sleepy.
There was an exciting voice from the girl on the phone. "Hello, are you the wife of the lord, Ms. Brook?"
"Yes, yeah." Bella paused for a while, and she woke up, opened her eyes, seeing the room was already bright.
"Hello, the lady, this is the mayor's secretary room. Yesterday, you came here to make an appointment with the mayor. Do you remember?" The secretary’s words were very official, but her voice was still a little bit excited.
Bella didn't quite understand why she was excited, but she still answered to her. "Yes, may I
ask when the mayor can meet me?"
"At 2:30 this afternoon, the mayor will be at his office. Do you have time to come?"
"Yeah, I am okay." Bella was suddenly sober and awake, she sat up in a hurry, and hanged up after saying thanks.
As she looked at the phone time, it was already ten.
She quickly got out of bed and opened the curtains. The dazzling sunlight broke through the window and hit her face, dazzling and warm.
She quickly cleaned herself up, went back to her bedroom, looking at the empty bed, she was a little absent-minded. The words she said yesterday finally let Charles leave. After all, he was such a proud person, how he could suffer from her cold words again and again.
However, when she went to the yard to have breakfast, she unexpectedly saw Charles and Edwin playing chess.
The speed of their play was very fast. It seemed that they didn’t need to think at all, and it also seemed that they have already expected which move the next step would be.
When Bella looked at the picture in front of her, she was a little confused that when her dad was so harmonious with Charles.
In reality, on the chess board, there had been filled with the smoke of war.
Charles’s rook had already aimed Edwin’s bishop, but he seemed to deliberately not let the other party lose directly, and even didn’t want to him to win easily.
Hearing the footsteps, Charles stood up and greeted her. "Bell, I haven't taken breakfast yet."
Bella was speechless. "Then you go to eat, do they not give you food?"
Edwin packed up the chessboard and said, "He said that he wanted to wait for you to eat together."
Bella pouted. "It is not him who makes it, it makes no sense to wait."
Did he want her to be guilty of his hungry stomach? No way.
Charles took over the bowl in her hand and gave her a good porridge. "I will make breakfast for you every day."
Bella didn’t say anything.
Charles never kept his words for her, she would not believe him. But she couldn’t show it directly in front of her father. After all, she just said to her father that she loved Charles.
If he knew that she didn't love Charles, he might be angry again because of the medicine.
Bella waited for a long time and did not see Steven, she asked uncontrollably, "Dad, where is brother? Does he still not get up yet?"
"He has already gone to the company." Edwin said, "Aren’t you going to see your mother this morning? You can go to the company after that."
"Yeah." Bella sighed. "I don't know when she will recover."
"Good people will always be lucky, your mother's condition will improve." Charles very rarely said something to comfort people.
When Bella heard his words, she got angry. If it wasn’t Katherine, if he hadn’t connived, my mother would have improved now.
This was a pain that she could hardly relieve, and it was hard to forget it too. This was the most primitive cause of her chest being stabbed. Because he did not believe her.
Bella touched her chest consciously, there was still a little painful.
Charles did not ignore Bella’s action, and his heart felt painful. It seemed that she still couldn’t forgive him, still couldn’t forget the knife.
She was right, why he would stab at that moment. That knife would hurt her even if it was stabbed to any part of her body.
He didn't dare to look at her anymore, he even didn't dare to look at her already red eyes.
Two people thought of their own things during breakfast.
Edwin had been sent back to his room to rest by Sam.
When Bella left the top of the mountain, Edwin had already slept.
"Why does dad still sleep a lot, isn't his condition already much better?" When Bella left, she was still worried and looking at Charles. "Does this medicine have any other effect?"
There was a saying that people would have brief glow of health before passing away, but she did not dare to say that because she was afraid that it would come true.
"He woke up at six o'clock this morning. It’s normal that he feels sleepy. Don't worry, there will be no problem with the Vinyan Pill." Charles comforted her gently, drove the car and held her with one hand.
"This is best." Bella was relieved, as if she was comforting herself. "If he got up at six, he actually needs to take a break now."
After saying, she silently pulled back her hand and put it back on her lap, turning her head and looking out the window.
Charles didn’t force her, and he was driving attentively all the way. Before arriving at the hospital, Bella never said a word to him, and she did not look back at him either.
