Chapter 240 Katherine Was Kidnapped Re-edited

When Bella searched for Devenport Research Institute again, she found that they did not have any official website, there must be something wrong.

The information on the website was less. They even didn’t have a phone number, otherwise, she could call them and ask more.

Katherine got closed to Charles step by step, and her eyes were full of love. “Dear Charles...”

Charles wasn’t too indifferent to her, but he kept the distance between them very politely and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Katherine saw the distance he kept, her heart broke up and her tears continued flowing down. “Charles, you have hated me so much?”

Charles said, “Since I am married, we should keep an appropriate distance.”

Katherine bit her lips, she felt hate and pain. She hated Bella sneaked away from her love, and she even felt painful because of Charles’s indifference.

No matter how cruel and capricious Katherine was, her flowing tears at this time were real. She looked at him and choked. “Charles, I want to eat with my father at noon. Can I still come back to live in the evening?”

Katherine did know how to deal with a man. Her poor appearance made her look pitiful.

Charles’s voice softened. “Of course, there is always a guest room for you to live.”

“Thank you.”  Katherine left the way to Charles and watched his back getting into the car, then disappeared.

The servants immediately lowered their heads. When Roy just sent away Charles and turned back to the hall, he saw Katherine ’s terrible face. He politely nodded at her, gracefully passed by. Roy shook his head silently, what a horrible woman.

In the car, Bella constrained her excitement and handed the web page she had found about the Devenport Research Institute and the theory of Sea Creature Gene to Charles, “Look, I find it.”

Charles felt funny to look at her excited but cautious face. She was worried that their talk was heard by Ziv, but she did not know that Ziv was the same as him.

Charles took over her mobile phone and cleared the history records. He said to her, “Don't let anyone know.”

He said it prudently not for himself, but for her.

The more she knew, the more dangerous she would be.

Bella whispered, “Is this very dangerous?”

Charles nodded.

Bella confirmed, “Will you be in danger?”

Charles nodded again, “Perhaps.”

If someone knew his identity, then he would definitely be the object of all human. Not only people who worked in Devenport Research Institute but also those who were in power in every country.

The wealth of the Kingdom of the sea was more than that of any country. Every governing class in every country was eager to possess it. Otherwise, how could the Devenport Research Institute get the official certification issued by the Queen?

Bella’s face became white, and she covered her mouth. “I don't know anything.”

Charles rubbed her hair with a funny smile. “You don't want to know more?”

Bella seemed curious and struggling. She really wanted to know more, but she was also worried that she would die because of this.

“Don’t worry, you will know in the future.” Charles laughed.

Hearing this, Bella gradually calmed down. She suddenly shook her head. “I don't want to know more.”

It was good enough to know that he was a human. Whether human was evolved from fish or apes was scientists’ business, not hers.

It was enough that he was not a vampire or werewolf.

She looked up at him. “I will wait for you to handle it.”

“Nice.” Charles smiled. “I won't let you down.”

Bella turned her face and looked out the window, the happiness on her face was uncontrollable.

After arriving at the company, they went to work separately. However, every time Charles finished his meeting and looked into the direction of the secretarial pool, Bella’s eyes were just looking at him occasionally.

At noon, Ziv was asked to send food to Charles’s office, of course, Bella joined the lunch.

Even Charles and Bella didn’t show up their love in public, but this small affair was enough for everyone to gossip.

Other staff in the secretarial pool saw Bella happily walking into the president's office and discussed curiously. “It seems that Miss  Katherine  has been out.”

“This is really how Cinderella becomes a princess. I didn't expect Miss Karen would lose to an ordinary college student.”

“There are many poor people doing this now. But unfortunately, not us.”

“Yeah, we don’t have such good skills.”

“Do you already have lunch?” Ziv asked gently, standing at the door of the secretarial pool.

He heard their discussion when he passed by, the more they said, the more outrageous things they were talking. Then he came to stop them.

The sound of gossip stopped immediately, and everyone was shocked but also relieved.

Although Ziv was a special assistant to Charles, he was not that kind of man who would inform secretly on people.

“It’s time for lunch.” The crowd then rushed to the direction of the elevator.

Ziv knocked on the door, Charles and Bella were looking back at him at the same time.

Charles’s “no disturbance” eyes made him dare not stay longer. He only stood at the same place and said, “Mr. Spencer called the villa to ask about Miss Katherine, but at that time Miss  Katherine  had left the villa for more than an hour.”

An hour was able to drive from one side of the city to the other, but  Katherine  had not yet arrived at the hotel in the city center

Charles faintly said, “Ignore it.”

He knew how capricious Katherine was, she wanted to test his feelings for her through her disappearance, if he went to find her, it would happen again, and it would give her more hope.

Bella bit the chopsticks and looked at him. She felt sweet when hearing his response.

Charles saw her smile and knew that he did the right thing.

After Ziv left, Bella kept talking while eating.

“This steak tastes really good,” Bella said happily.

This meal was very nice, but things didn’t go on well as they wish. In the evening, when Charles was about to get off work in the evening, he received a call from Earl.

Earl’ voice was anxious and panic on the phone. “Charles,  Katherine  was kidnapped.”
