Chapter 191 Thunderstorm On A Sunny Day
To show how truthful her intentions were, Bella allowed Charles to kiss her for a few minutes. She cut him short only when he tried to put his hand under her blouse.
“Can we find Dora first?” she asked.
“Yes, of course,” he replied. “First you need to tell me everything that happened.”
Bella told him about the messages and repeated her conversation with Edwin almost word by word. He took her phone to examine the photo. The details of the photo were not very clear. Although the plates were visible, it was hard to distinguish the numbers.
“It’s a pity this is the only piece of evidence,” said Bella. “We’re not going to go very far if it turns out to be stolen.”
“Don’t be so silly,” said Charles. “If we find out where this photo was taken we may be able to find Dora.”
Even though Charles was not certain he believed his own words, he spoke in such a convincing tone, Bella could not help feel a pang of hope in her heart.
“Do you think it’s going to be easy?”
“Much easier than what you think,” said Charles with the air of an expert. The last thing he wanted at this moment was Bella to doubt his ability.
“What’s your plan?” she asked.
“Let Ziv handle this,” said Charles.
He called Ziv to the room and handed him the phone.
“Find out the plate numbers and the location this photo was taken.”
“Yes, My Lord,” said Ziv, waiting patiently for the next order.
“Then we’ll need to find the girl who sent this message to Bella. Her name is Dora. Bella shall provide you with a photo of hers.”
Ziv left to deal with the matter immediately, and Bella followed Charles to the study room.
Standing at the door was a guard dressed in white.
Katherine meanwhile, was trying to get rid of Roy who was trying to convince her to follow him to Elsa’s place.
“Get out of my way,” she shouted at him.
“The only reason I’m asking this is that the Lord showed much concern over your health,” said Roy.
“Wait and see what will happen when I get married. You’re the first who is going to get fired,” she screamed.
“As you wish,” said Roy. “Now please follow me.”
“Will you ever give up?”
Roy simply smiled. Katherine knew that the situation was hopeless. He would not go away unless she did what he asked.
“All right. Let’s go,” she said.
Bella walked back and forth in the study while Charles sat at the desk. Several times, she wanted to ask how long they were going to wait. However, as soon as she saw Charles's black hair, she would tell herself that all she needed to do was have faith in his methods.
However, as time passed without Ziv showing up, she began to feel impatient. Why was he taking up so much time? Could this be a sign that things were not going well for Dora?
“Stop moving like that,” said Charles. “You make me feel dizzy.”
“What else can I do?” she asked.
“You need to have faith. Ziv never fails to do the job.”
“Then why is he late?”
“These things sometimes take time,” said Charles.
When Ziv finally showed up, he had an important announcement to make.
“We couldn’t locate Dora, but we found the vehicle. It was abandoned by the side of the road.”
He showed Bella a map on the screen of the tablet he was holding and pointed to a red spot. “This is where we found it,” he said.
“Are there any traces of her?”
“No blood or signs of violence. Whoever did this had no intention to kill her.”
“Dora will be fine, Dora will be fine.” She folded her hands and kept praying to the Sea Deities. All she was asking was for them to keep Dora safe. Lightning flashed out of the windows and the deafening sound of thunder assaulted their eardrums. Bella looked out of the window. The tallest tree in the yard was now ablaze. Bella’s face suddenly turned white. This was certainly a sign of bad luck. Were the Gods trying to warn her that things were not going to end well?
“You don’t need to pray,” said Charles. “I am here to help you.”
“How can you help me when you can’t even find Dora?”
“Do you know why the thunder struck the tree? Because you were not praying to the right God.”
“Stop mocking me,” she said. “This is no time for jokes.”
“I’m not joking,” said Charles.
He turned to Ziv and asked him to leave the room and go guard the main entrance.
As soon as they were alone, Charles stretched out his arms towards Bella. She wasn’t sure if it was a welcoming gesture or he was trying to summon up some kind of mysterious force.
“What are you doing?” she asked and rubbed her skin.
She had just felt a tingling sensation on her arm. It was as if the air around her was electrically charged.
“If you want your wish to come true, you need to pray to me!”
Bella stared at him in amazement. Was Charles able to track Dora’s location in the same way he had tracked hers?
“Pray to me now!”
She could feel the world spinning around her. What would happen if she did what he said? Was this house going to be by struck by lightning?
