Chapter 186 Dog Dream Lover

Katherine could not help following Charles all the way to Bella’s bedroom. She stood there and watched Charles lay Bella on the bed, gently and carefully, like the most precious treasure in the world. He acted as if he was afraid she was going to break in his arms.

“Miss Katherine, please let me in.”

She turned around only to see Elsa looking at Katherine. She was blocking her way in the room and Elsa was trying to figure how to get in without becoming rude.

This was the perfect opportunity for Katherine to let off some steam.

She pointed her finger at the old woman and shouted at Charles.

“Darling! Did you hear what she just said? How can you allow her to disrespect me in such a manner?”

Charles did not move away from Bella. He turned to Katherine and spoke in a calm voice.

“Can you please let her in? She needs to check Bella’s condition. Why don’t you go to sleep?”

“But I don’t want to sleep,” said Katherine.

She wiped the tears off her eyes and walked into the room. She tried to put her arms around Charles but he withdrew from her.

“Why don’t you let me stay here with you? I’ve missed you so much during the last few days.”

Charles turned his eyes to Ziv who had just shown up with some very important news. “My Lord. We’ve got Miss Sanders in the interrogation room.”

Katherine raised her eyebrows and tried very hard to conceal her surprise upon hearing those words. If Lynn had been caught, the plan had undeniably failed. She bit her lips nervously in her attempt to hide her anger. She had paid a lot of money for nothing. Even though Katherine deep down knew what an imbecile Lynn was, she never expected her to be caught so easily. She also hated Ziv for being so efficient in his job. If it wasn’t for him, Lynn might have pulled it off.

Another main concern was whether Lynn would rat on Katherine during the interrogation. She had to find a way to prevent this from happening.

“Can you escort Katherine back to her room?” said Charles.

“I can find the way to my room by myself! I don’t need him to come with me.”

Before walking out of the room, Katherine made a failed attempt to kiss Charles on the mouth. He ignored her in a spectacular manner while pretending he was busy putting Bella under the quilt.

Katherine let an angry grunt escape her mouth and walked out of the room. She gave Ziv one final angry look as she brushed past him.

“What happened to Our Lady?” asked Elsa.

“The people at the Devenport Lab have extracted a sample of Bella’s blood. I want you to do a blood test now. I want to see the result it will yield.”

Elsa opened her first-aid kit and took out a syringe. She inserted it into Bella’s arm and took some blood. Once she had obtained the sample, she took out the portable analyzer and fed it with one drop of Bella’s blood.

All they had to do now was wait a few minutes for the results.

“Did you find out who’s behind the Devenport lab? Why are they after the mermaid DNA?”

“Whoever cracks first the code of the mermaid DNA will make vast profits. It can be used to cure many diseases that have plagued humanity for centuries.”

“The lady should better stay at home until giving birth to your heir. Without an heir, you will be lost. You won’t be able to feed the Tree of Life with your blood for much longer.”

“I know,” said Charles.

“Each day I get older and more tired. I don’t how for how long I will be able to maintain my human form. This worries me a lot. If I return to the Sea Kingdom, who will take care of the Lady?”

“Let’s discuss these things some other time,” said Charles. “Are the results ready?”

Elsa pressed a button on the analyzer and a printed strip of paper came out. She seemed pleased as she read the results.

“The Lady is safe for the moment. No traces of mermaid DNA in her blood. But I don’t know how long this is going to last.”

“All right,” said Charles. “You can go now.”

The old woman put away all her instruments in the box and closed the lid. She hurried out of the room without saying a word and closed the door behind.

At last, Charles was alone with Bella in the room. How much he longed for some peace and quiet. All he wanted was to spend the evening alone with Bella. It didn’t matter if she was not aware of his presence.

The first thing he did was to get out of his clothes and take a shower. When it was time to sleep he lied next to her and put his arms around her. This time he didn’t bother to transform.

That night Bella dreamed that she was out in the snow and shivering fiercely. A large dog showed up and licked her face. She put her arms around its neck and buried her face in its warm fur. It felt so good. Just by rubbing her body against the animal obliterated the sense of cold.

Charles initial purpose was to lie next to Bella because he hadn’t been close to her in a long time. He tried to fall asleep, but with Bella lying there next to him, he could not close an eye. Gradually he began removing her clothes one by one. He let his fingers slide over her body and started kissing her shoulders and neck. When she began to respond, he moved to other parts of her body.

One part of her seemed to be asleep and another was begging for more. Charles had no idea how that was possible but he was eager to play along.

He let his fingers slide in deep between her legs and a soft moan escaped her lips. He drew his fingers out and rubbed them against the tender pink folds of flesh. Her face and shoulders were red and her body was twitching like a fish on a frying pan.

Not being able to withhold himself any longer, Charles mounted Bella and entered her. At the same time in Bella’s dream, the lovely dog turned into a hideous wolf with saliva drooling down its jaws.

Bella tried to scream but she wasn’t able to. She was aware that this was a dream but she couldn’t wake up. She struggled against the wolf with hands, legs, and teeth, but the thing was much stronger than she was.

Charles kissed the tears in her eyes and kissed her lips until he finally released his desire. He kissed her with tenderness and love. At that moment, he loved Bella more than anything in the world.

Bella gave up struggling and started to cry. Her consciousness gradually faded away. She felt like she was being sucked down a huge bottomless well.

After demonstrating his love, Charles fell asleep with Bella in his arms.
