Chapter 177 Flirtatious Desire

As soon as they were in Bella’s room, Ziv shut the door and fell to his knees. He wasn’t asking for any form of mercy, he just wanted to remind the Lord a crucial bit of information.

“My Lord. It’s time for you to return to the Sea Kingdom.”

“Get out of here,” said the boy. With a gesture of his arm, he beckoned the servant to exit the room. All he wanted was to be alone until the moment Bella would be back.

His eyes fell upon Bella’s laptop. Now was the perfect opportunity to check it out.

Firstly, he opened the notebook that was lying next to the laptop. There were a few words written on the front page and rows of numbers. He turned a few pages only to realize it was an estimate of all her costs and expenses during her stay at the Mansion. Everything had been written down in detail, including all sums he had deducted and the cause of the deduction, which could range from being late for dinner or starting a quarrel.

Bella had underlined with a red pen certain lines regarding the sums she had to pay for each violation. On one occasion, she had been fined two hundred dollars for being late. Three hundred was the cost for starting an argument, while an undisclosed sum was deducted for making Charles unhappy.

His thin red lips curved slightly upwards in amusement. Bella had no qualms about being a pain in the ass despite the hefty fines. She seemed unable to escape her true nature even if it was for her own good.

A low sigh escaped his chest and he shut the notebook. He was about to turn on the laptop when a sudden flash appeared in the middle of the room. It came out of nowhere and vanished as quickly as it had appeared, taking Charles with it.

At the same moment, a watery mass that resembled a huge wall formed on the surface of the ocean. It stood there for a few seconds before it collapsed from its own weight, creating a huge white foamy wave. On the top of the wave, like an experienced surfer, stood Nick Williams and his faithful servant Jack.

Nick, whose black outfit had merged with an also black cloak, resembled a living shadow, a piece of the dark world in the flesh. The only contrast to all the blackness was his gleaming eyes.

“Master, should we proceed with the plan? asked Jack.

“Of course. Why else are we here?”

“Keep in mind that if the King of the Sea is so badly injured he won’t be able to supply the Tree of Life with his blood. This will result in the decimation of our race.”

“I don’t want you here if you’re scared,” said Nick. He was more determined than ever to be done with Charles.

“I’m afraid Master is going to regret his decision. If the Tree of Life would ever die our homeland would also perish with it.”

“What homeland?” Nick sneered, “You mean the one I left a long time ago? I feel no nostalgia for that place.”

He raised his hand and dark clouds gathered above. There were so many of them, the sky suddenly became black. The waves of enormous size that appeared on the surface of the sea seemed to eliminate the gap between the sky and the ocean.

This phenomenon must have worried Ziv, who stood at the window of the Mansion staring at the distant chaos. He ran as fast as he could to the gate where he met Roy.

“What is going on?”

“The Young Master is summoning the Thunder Dragon,” said Ziv in a state of panic.

“We need to hurry up and seal the rift before the Thunder Dragon is unleashed.”

The huge waves and the horrifying wind ravaged the coastline with unprecedented fury. By the time Ziv and Roy arrived there, they could see the lightning flashing off Nick’s palm. The Thunder Dragon was about to emerge.

“You go to seal the Tree of Life. Don’t let the Dragon get near it,” shouted Ziv.

Upon hearing those words, Roy jumped in the air. The lightning in Nick’s palm that had suddenly turned into a long flaming whip stopped him midway.

“I am more than happy to exile you to the depths of Hell,” shouted Nick, his eyes gleaming with intense hatred.

His electric whip flashed in the air. It sent Roy tumbling down to the waves. He jumped up again and tried to avoid another strike from the whip. Nick kept on waving it around in a very casual manner, as if he was teasing his pet, forcing Roy to roll about on the sea.

Suddenly a cold and proud voice came up from the depths. “Are you enjoying all this?”

Nick withdrew the whip with one move of his palm. He looked around and let a satanic cackle escape his mouth. He raised his palm and the whip came out to strike the clouds that hovered above.

One violent jerk of his wrist made it transform into a stream of pulsating light that brightened the entire sky. When he moved his palm downwards, it slammed upon the surface of the water, releasing an intense flash upon the violent impact.

The surface of the ocean was now a blazing swirling mass of water, heat, wind, and fire. From the chaos emerged a white figure that did not seem to be affected by anything at all.

Charles had now returned to his adult form.

Nick drew away his whip and folded his arms on his chest. “I assumed you must have been badly injured, that is why you could not keep your adult form.”

“You have guessed correctly,” said Charles as he trod upon the surface of the ocean. “However, you have lost your chance to kill me.”

“I find it disgusting that in order to appeal to a woman you took the form of a boy. How sick of you!”

“That’s none of your business,” said Charles.

“Actually I am very interested in Bella. I believe that I can bring her to fall in love with me. That would be much better revenge than taking away your life,” said Nick while rubbing his chin.

“Go to the hell!”

Charles’s eyes froze like those of a marble statue. He stared at the surface, making hundreds of thousands of tiny drops rise into the air. They levitated in front of him for a few moments before they shot with tremendous force towards Nick.

Nick snapped his fingers and the drops dispersed towards all directions. “I have made up my mind. From now on I will pursue Bella intensely and I will not give up unless she is mine.”
