Chapter 159 The Contrac

“I don’t like people calling me Bel, especially those who hate me.’”

“I don't hate you,” said Bell.

“Then you don’t like me very much.”

This made Charles wonder whom did he like most? Was it Katherine or Bella?

Seeing that he didn't want to talk, Bella sneered at him. “You don’t even like me and I’m not even sure how this makes me feel. From now on, you should call me Bella, like everyone else. This way others won’t assume that we like each other and will stop making inappropriate thoughts.”

“OK, Bella!” Charles had nothing other to say.

Bella was surprised by her sudden reaction to Charles using her real name. Her heart was aching because if Charles was willing to call her Bella, it meant that he didn’t like her any longer.

“My Lord, why did you ask me to come here?” Bella stepped back just in time to avoid his grip on her arm.

“I want to show you this contract.” He picked a paper titled “Surrogacy Agreement” from the desk and handed it to her.

Bella read the agreement word by word. Her hands were shaking, but she was laughing at the same time. After giving birth to his child, she would receive fifty million in cash, her own house, and a car.

“I appreciate your generosity, My Lord,” she uttered. “However, there is one thing that I want to make straight. What will happen to the child?”

“This is something you don’t need to know.” Charles recovered his indifference. These were the secrets of the sea. He couldn’t reveal them to anyone, not even to the mother of the child.

“I have to know.” Bella insisted. “Do you want to take the blood of your child? Will he die?”

“He won't die, he will be my heir,” Charles said. “But I really need his blood to survive.”

“Will you drink it in the same way you drank mine?” she asked.

“Something like that.” Charles took her words out of context. The child's blood would be use to feed the tree of life.

Bella came closer. “I have one condition. I want to raise the child until it’s three.”

“Accepted. As long as you agree to live on the Williams Mansion until you let go of your child.”

Charles didn’t tell her that this was his way of keeping her here. No matter what, he would never drive away the mother of his child.

“There is something I don’t understand. Why does this clause state that I have to move out of William’s Mansion?” said Bella and pointed to the paper.

“After you have received your compensation you are not allowed to see him again.”

“You just said that I can raise my child until its three.”

“Guess what? I just changed my mind.”

“You are too much.”

“If you sign the agreement you will never see your child again. If you don’t, you can stay here as long as you want. You got to choose one or another.”

Bella looked stunned, “Does Miss Katherine know this?”

“This is not your concern.”

“I need to have a word with Miss Katherine,” said Bella and was about to storm out of the room. The way Charles grabbed her from the arm, jerking her shoulder back, caused a lot of pain.

Once more, blood oozed out of her shoulder wound.

“Charles, why do you hate me so much?”

When these words were over, she suddenly fainted.

Charles rushed at her immediately and cried out her name.

“Call Elsa, immediately,” he shouted at Ziv who was standing near the door. He found her asleep in bed and had to carry her again in his arms. Meanwhile, Charles carried Bella to her room and laid her on the bed.

The old woman checked Bella and changed the medicine before turning to Charles, “Lord, Lady’s wound is infected.”

“Why does she always have to faint?”

“Because someone does not allow the wound to heal. You need to let her get enough rest and make sure you don’t touch the wound again.” Elsa looked at Charles and sighed. “My Lord, circumstances are very hard for the Lady to stay here. Please don’t be mean to her for the sake of your offspring.”

“Am I mean to her?” asked Charles in a puzzled manner. He just wanted to find an excuse for her to be here.

“If you were really good to the Lady, why does she suffer so much?” Elsa said with a strong heart. “It’s the man’s responsibility to protect the woman. Although you may not love your wife, you are responsible for her.”

“Get out of here!” he said to Elsa.

Elsa took the first aid kit and left the room. She was old and did not have too much time left. This gave her the luxury of honesty.

In the empty room, Charles stood above Bella and gazed down at her. He watched as her tears roll down her cheek. The clear little drops that spilled through the tight corners of the eyes moistened her long eyelashes.

“Charles, why do you hate me so much? What did I do wrong?” she murmured.

Her hair was soaked in sweat and the pillow was wet from the tears.

When she finally woke up, she found nobody in the room with her.
